Hi
My mother actually has a question, she is 52 and is going through menapause. she was wondering is soar breast/nipples is a symptom of menapause?

also,She was using a hormonal cream and stopped using it about two weeks ago, said she couldn't tell a difference in taking it!she took it for about six months. I was wondering if anybody would recommend anything for some of her symptoms!

I've tried to get her to excersice and eat right, she doesn't seem to want to!I figured that would be a step in the right direction,as far as her feelings go!

I'm just worried about her,A PM is welcomed if is too personal.

Thanks in advance for any advice/recommendations!

Amy,

Sore breast can be symptomatic of several things occuring with her body's hormones but it's something her doctor should check out first.

I know you are trying to help but really, she needs to talk to her doctor. You don't want to mess around with hormones without knowing what you're doing :)

Here is a website full of information www.power-surge.com. There are message boards on this site, very much like Cathe's but about menopause. Check it out.

Menopause is the complete cessation of periods....but the time BEFORE can take 10 years or so.....yes, worsening of PMS is most certainly a sign of "the change," so are night sweats (that's my thing, 2 weeks of every month, having cold night sweats - its the ovaries working overtime to keep up)....mood changes - alot of times so severe, you see lots of divorces when women are in their 40's......so yeah, if she wants to avoid hormones, there's no avoiding the transition in life....and big deal,as long as ya can get out of bed and haul yourself through the day, its a good day....because, no telling when the ladder will be pulled out from you, and tragedy is indiscriminant....and THAT's the wisdom of getting older....every day is a gift - no matter how crabby and sweaty we are right?

This is a great post. So, so true about menopause. The problem is, after the transition to menopause (cessation of periods) other things come into play that no one likes to talk about. Mostly vaginal and urological issues. Not fun!
