MBT's

Thought I would share....I broke down and bought a pair of MBT shoes. They supposedly keep your posture perfect when you walk, they were designed after the African Masai people, and how despite walking barefoot all the time, have perfect posture and strong backs, knees, hips, etc...
I have a bad hip, and so I thought I would give them a try--they are pricey, but I love them! They are great to workout in and wear all the time--they come in different styles.
Blissworld, advertises them as the "anti-cellulite" shoe, as they really work your hamstrings, calves and glutes when you walk, some women have reported loss of inches from wearing them only a month. Just thought I would pass this along, all of our friends now sport the MBT's and love them! They are especially great if you are in the city and have to walk everywhere! I wore them in SF and noticed they really helped my hip! :)

I have had hip/ITB issues, too and recently bought a pair of these after reading reviews on the forum here. I am happy with mine and feel like it's helped with low back pain and hip stiffness, too. They are pricey, but it was a worthwhile investment for me.

I just broke down and bought them too. I have them about 2 weeks. I really feel them working my legs. They are just so ugly. My husband looked down at my feet and said my sneakers look like something his grandmother wore. At a class at the gym everyone was asking me about them. Then I was at the store I noticed one of the workers look at my feet and when I passed him I overheard him say to his coworker I have to get a pair of "heely's".

They are quite the conversation piece, but so far I really feel them working my legs & glutes.

I've had a pair for almost a year. I had initially purchased them for work (I'm a nurse) but soon found that there's NOTHING better than my Birkenstocks for my 12 hr shifts!!! Anyway, I have always had problems with jogging and shin splints, so I started using them as my running shoes. They work wonderfully for that! I have never had a hint of shin pain when I run in them!!!

Sorry, I did not know you all have already talked about the shoes! It is hard sometimes to wade through the whole message board! But yep., they are ugly as sin, but so are alot of other shoes right?:)

I have the white and orange ones, these look the most "sporty" to me, but I also have a few others that I wear with different things..I seriously cannot live without these shoes!

Earth shoes are said to have some of the same benefits: good posture, anti-cellulite and burning more calories from 'walking at a 3.7% incline(I don't buy the last two claims), and they are much more attractive (as well as more affordable)! Though the "Energetic," which is an athletic shoe, is a bit on the clunky-looking side, and I don't like the way their open-toed sandals look from the top.

I especially like the new "Allure" style (I get the "Earth Vegan"
kinds).

I wear almost nothing but Birkies and Teva sandals in the summer (I just can't get into the Birkenstock closed-toe shoes, but if I could, I'd wear them year-round!)

My chiropractor does a neuromuscular test to check and see if different shoes keep one (in this case, ME) in good allignment, and the Birkies and Tevas passed with flying colors. The Earth shoes didn't, but do when I wear my orthotics in them.

Those are darn cute!! I cannot wait to get a pair-- I am a shoe junkie, but need to wait, I just bought some new workout clothes!:7
