Mayo-good or bad for you?

So what is the deal with it? That commercial about using real mayo has me wondering if it is good for me or not. 1 tablespoon has 90 calories, 10g fat, 0 transfat, 1.5 sat fat, 6g polyunsat fat, 5 mg cholesterol and 90 mg sodium. The front of the container says it is naturally rich in Omega-3.

Now I know this is weird but I date with a sharpie anything in a jar that goes in the fridge that I don't use often. Things like mayo and pickles primarily because I rarely use them. This way I know if it is still good or not. I have a jar of mayo that I opened in April and has less than a half cup missing from it. I guess I shouldn't worry about how good or bad the mayo is for me because I obviously don't use it often but that commercial really made me question its benefits. (I know that there is a comm claiming corn syrup is good too so I take things I see with a grain of salt.)

Happy Friday!

Mayo is very high in fat (10 gms. of fat = 90 calories, so it's ALL fat calories).

I don't think it's "good" for you, but some mayos are better than others. (I use one--rarely--made with grapeseed oil).

Best to use in moderation/rarely.

Better, IMO, would be to used a mashed avocado as a spread (doesn't have the same tang as mayo, but much more nutritious, and you can try different additions--like lemon or lime juice or herbs or spices--for tang).
