Hi ladies...

Anyone have plans for the weekend? We are staying home and grilling. Just the family....

It was great to get through Body Max 2 yesterday. I was a little pooped. SO, I ended up lower my step to 6" after the first combo. I knew I had sooooo much more to do and didn't want to be too wiped out to finish..Today is Low Max. Another toughie. I am hoping to get to that later this morning. Then, I am done with this rotation. Not sure what I am doing in June. I guess I will see what Cathe posts as usual. I love her rotations....

Talk to you all later...

Good morning Kathy, and all! Oooooh, Low Max has such dread for me -- it always seems so hard -- I think I did it too many times right after a leg day.

I'm not sure what we have planned..... we thought we had nothing and then at the open house the other night everyone started inviting us over, etc., and then when I was leaving school yesterday someone said "See you this weekend." and I said "Really?" and she said "I think so." So, I'm not sure!!! I know I have a list of chores and a pile of laundry and I want to finish a book with the kids! :D

Had a good workout this morning!! Started with BBL high and tight -- youchie! and then did a myohmytv workout which was burpees, kettlebell swings and snatches, pike pushups, plank climbers and oh, twisting mountain climbers. It was good! 40s on/20s rest. Two rounds of that and I was done! I had thought about doing three, but there was no way I would have gotten through another one.

Have a good one!!

Quick check in. Don't know why I'm so busy this morning. I thought I made it nicer, but it's not really nicer.

I ended up PUSHING myself to do Step Moves. I wasn't excited about working out at all, but I started getting anxious/nervous energy about working tonight. I think I'm going to end up working on another unit, and that is a TOTAL crapshoot. (Will the staff be nice? Will they dump on me? will I have hard patients?). So I MADE Myself do some cardio to make myself feel better. It worked, for now!

Gotta go get the kids lunch and do my saturday cleaning. I'll BBL when I get a break!

Oh, Chris -- I hope it goes well tonight -- that does have to be kind of stressful -- being thrown into a new situation like that. Good for you for getting Step Moves in!!

Turns out we are going to watch the first Stanley Cup game tonight with a crowd of friends -- should be fun! I'll bet Joanne'll have it on at her house! Go Fliers! ;)

A little breather!

Kathy: No plans for this weekend for me. Same ol' same ol'! Work/little sleep/work again! I did plant flowers on Friday and we grilled out yesterday AND doing more grill tonight for supper before I go to work. that's the extent of our "celebrating". Oh, Zach is in a parade with the middle school band, on Monday. Which starts at 10am and no way in hell I could ever stay up for (besides, I really hate parades!). ... Wow. Body Max 2 and THEN Low Max. Talk about double shot of killing ya! I have a LITTLE dread with LM, but I've been hearing about it more this past week and have a tiny itch to do it! Have fun with your family, Kathy!... I'm going to continue on Fitness Freak's Get Ready for SUmmer '10 Rotation. (or at least follow her general rotation). She added on 4 more weeks of it. I'll do this week. and then I have a "rest" week when i go to DC with Zach and his school. which I'm getting anxious about as well!!!!

Beth
: That's so cool you got all kind of picnic invites! Tonight sounds like fun as well. I bowed out of the Stanley Cup when my Bruins blew it. But it's exciting to watch anyways! Your workout sounds crazy!!! And sweaty! BBL really does make you say OUCH! Literally! I SAY it !! sometimes I'm to the point of tears in my eyes. (mostly on the floor work, on all 4's, those endless leg lift variations!!! ). ... thanks for the well wishes for tonight. I need them! Keep thinking them!!! :)

*waves* to Joanne and Hottie!!!

HI ladies..

Today is a rest day...Getting ready to head out to church. Then this afternoon we may go over to the pool for a while. For dinner we are grilling some steaks. Yum!!!

I am feeling a little sore so glad it is a rest day!!

Hi Kathy! Sounds like you have a good day planned. Enjoy!!

Chris, how was work? I hope all went ok in the unknown situation!!

I had an easy day today, so I did Ellen's barefoot cardio. It was the right thing.

I had the funniest dream about meeting up with Joanne and driving around the bay area (multiple bridges were involved, we were lost, GPS, etc.). and going to dinner and then telling her that I was going to send a letter to my friend Boingo and then realizing she knows who Boingo it. It was very strange, but so fun to feel like I'd spent time with you, Joanne!! I wonder if it was because of all that hockey action last night. :p What a game!!

We are going to have a slow day here, I predict. Travis is sick with sore throat and congestion, and Larry's not feeling so great himself. We just got Avatar from netflix, so that might be happening. There was talk of going to the beach for boogie boarding, but that might have to wait until tomorrow. At least our weather is finally spring-like!!

Hope everyone has a great day -- waves to Hottie!!

Hey Girls...

Sunday fly by!!!

I ended up having a REALLY GOOD night at work last night! We were actually SHORT of nurses, and had to have one float to US! How ironic! Very quiet and easier patients too. Hope tonight is the same!!

Kathy: Enjoy your BBQ! My boys LOVE steaks on the grill!! Sounds like a nice day planned.

Beth: Sounds like you had fun at the hockey game party last night! Sorry you have sick boys there :(. OMG, your dream is a riot!! Dreams can be so real/vivid, can't they? Even though they make NO sense! .... Barefoot anything sounds great for today!! Hope you get some good relaxing in! ... Hey, how is your mom doing? Is she in rehab ? Been thinking about her!

*waves* to Joanne and Hottie!!! Hope you're enjoying your long weekend!

Relaxing, definitely! I think I'm getting what Travis has, too. Anyway, did some laundry, but other than that nothing accomplished except we did learn how to play Risk finally, and played a long game that we didn't even finish. We read more on our Streak, and now we are taking a break from watching Avatar and the three of us loving it and wishing we had seen it in a theater, but Dylan sort of ignoring it because I think he thinks it's going to be scary.

My mom is doing well. She was in the hospital for three weeks -- crazy! And then, yes, was in a rehab place to get her strength back. On Friday my sisters were at her house and a guy was there to install shower bars, etc., but he actually had a better answer and didn't charge them anything, and then they were late getting out of there to pick up my mom and they backed into the guy's truck! :( But, my mom came home Friday and is doing pretty well. She is scheduled to have her next treatment on Thursday, but I guess it's sort of a loose schedule in case her blood counts aren't right or whatever. So, it's a little hard to plan who will be with her or when I will go down -- we just have to be super flexible. But, the good news is that she sounds good and my sister said she looks good.

Back to Avatar!

HI ladies...

Beth: I am so glad to hear your mom is doing well and is home. I bet that makes you feel a little better....Avatar. I have that one on my netfliz queue. Sounds like you are enjoying it and give it thumbs up? My kids think it looks weird and aren't interested in watching it. oh and funny dream..

Chris: Hope last night was as good as the one before!!

ok, not sure what I will do today. I am still hoping Cathe will post the June rotation soon. Otherwise, probably something cardio in case day 1 is weights...

Probably end up at the pool this afternoon...

Hi Kathy! and all! How'd those steaks turn out? We may go to the beach today -- it ended up pretty hot here yesterday. I suppose it'll be a zoo at the beach.

Yes, I'd recommend Avatar -- there was some violence, but mostly it was very visually appealing and a good, if somewhat predictable, story. Larry and Travis kept saying "Wow that's so cool!" or whatever, so Dylan would peek and watch a while and in the end he was just watching it. That James Cameron has some imagination!

Yes, it's good to know my mom is doing better!!

Chris, how was work? Think we'll hear from anyone else today?

Oh! My workout! A new one -- Jeanette Jenkins Bikini Boot Camp. It was a tough workout! but, I didn't really like the way it flowed. I may trade it!!

Have a great day!

Beth: thanks for the info on Avatar. I will give it a try...The steaks we had were awesome. I bought some NY strips and marinated them in A-1. Yum. I also made potato salad and pasta salad...Good stuff...

Now, time to figure out what workout to do...

"And we all float on ok..." (I'm singing, it's a song by Modest Mouse, have you ever heard it? I love it!) Because we always all float on ok in the long run!

OMG, you guys, Sunday night at work was INSANE! Insane, because it was QUIET AS HELL! We had 12 patients, I had 4 patients ALL NIGHT. It was so very , dare I say it, boring? That happens like once in a blue moon, seriously. I found little hiding places and nodded off SEVERAL times during the night. We had Memorial Day snacks and had some of my good nurse friends on, so we were amused for a while too. But it lasted FOREVER. I'm not sure I liked it all that much! LOL!

So Greg took the boys to the Memorial Day parade , and afterwards went to Home Depot and picked up a big fire pit!! So we're going to have a fire later and roast VERY LARGE AND VERY PINK marshmallows! I'm excited (as are the boys!).

I think I just may go for a run in a few minutes! I really feel like it! It's so nice out, but not sure if I want to go to the park or just go out from my house.

Kathy: Oh those steaks sound delish! We're going to do chicken drumsticks , ribs (boneless lean ribs) and corn on the cob! Good stuff! I went to peak to see if Cathe posted a june rotation, too. Not that I can do it, but of course I'm curious! I actually saw a post that Cathe responded too that she posted a leg leaning rotation on. It looked very intriguing!

Beth: Avatar is VERY cool! Yes, the theatre was even more amazing!! I really liked that movie. The scenes in the forest were so amazing, and yes, imaginative! Jake, (who's 8 too) , watched it both at the movies in 3D and at home. he was ok with it , which I was suprised at. ... Sorry you didn't have the best workout. But it's fun to try different ones, isn't it? I'm kind of itching to do a Jillian workout this week. I haven't done those in forever, and I think I still have one in shrink wrap!

Crazy about your work night! I'll bet the few winks of sleep you did catch did you a world of good, but I know it's awful to have work drag and drag like that.

Very cool about the fire pit. We have a chiminea, as I mentioned once, and the boys love to roast marshmallows out there -- haven't done it in a while.

When I lived in Michigan, the Memorial Day parade was such a huge deal -- we were always in it and then afterward the pool would open for the summer and we'd spend the afternoon there! I haven't seen a Memorial Day parade since I've lived in California.... don't know if they do them here. Well, maybe I used to be in them when I was in high school band -- there were a lot of parades -- I don't remember MD specifically. Maybe it's more of an east coast/midwest thing?

Got the boys hair cut. finally. And that's about all I've accomplished. We finished our latest Streak book, so ready to start a new one. Played some more risk, didn't get much of the summer planning done at all! No one is cooperating with me.....
