Hey there girl!

I just received Slim Series in the mail this morning!

I am currently previewing Firm It Up. It doesn't appear to TECHNICALLY be a cardio work out but it looks like one would get cardio benefits from it. What do you think? Am I right or wrong?

TIA!:)

I think you are right. The high reps will mantain your heart rate up. The best way to do them so you don't burn out is to alternate with straight cardio.

Enjoy the SS.

Hi Wendy -

I have been doing my first week of SS too. It does keep your heartrate up for sure. I HATE the music though - so I have on some house/techno music CD's or my new Madonna CD works great as well.

I would be interested in what you think. There isn't a huge fun factor for sure - but the moves are effective and since you have been doing freestyle - I think her stuff goes with that really well.

Hi there ladies.

Thanks for your input!

Well I just got done doing Shape It Up. I can see where the boredom factor might kick in as the choreography isn't very creative but the moves are certainly effective! I was feeling them! I only used 8# once, for the concentration curls! I did the rest of the exercises with 5# and on a few I had to drop down to 3# part way through!

Mariangeles, I was already considering alternating slim series work outs with some Cathe Cardio to bump up the cardio some. I am also going to add in walking lunges and extra ab work if need be. I'll have to play around with it and see what works best for me.

Anne, yeah the music stinks! It stunk on Slim in 6 as well. In fact, it might even be the SAME music! BLECH! :p LOL You are right about the freestyle, btw...the reason I decided to purchase this series in the first place is because I thought the work outs would lend themselves well to freestyle and they do!:)

Well, tomorrow is Firm it up.

I LOVE Cathe but I need a change...I have been doing her work outs pretty much exclusively for just over a year now! I think my body needs to be shaken up a bit! Maybe the change will help me shed some of the last remaining pounds!:)

Wendy -

I have been adding in some more cardio. On Tuesday I did Firm it Up in the morning - then added TJ Cardio Party in the evening. I just am so used to much more cardio that I think adding in some Cathe cardio or TJ will help too... I actually have been making it up every morning at 4am and getting the SS done. I think it is easier for me to do them in the morning since there isnt as much thinking. hehe... :)

I am glad to hear you think they do work with Freestyle since I have been reading more about that on here.

I did the new Cardio Party Remix this morning - so will be doing Tone it Up tonight...

Hi Anne,

I was thinking (on my way home from grocery shopping, lol) that I may change my rotation up a bit...

I was going to do cardio on separate days from the SS series but if I can get my behind out of bed by 7 am like I always used to then I can do both in one day! I can do one in the morning and one when DS goes down for his nap. I like this idea better than what I had originally planned on doing...time to set the alarm clock!;)

OOOH, even better!!! I just checked the times on the SS series and Firm it up (which is on tap for tomorrow) is one of a few that are just under an hour...I can do that back to back with 30 mins of cardio in the a.m. and then be done for the day! YEAH!}(

Have a great night!:)
