Lower back - pilates?

Would doing pilates help with a weak lower back? I have a fairly good core (I think), but I have a weak back. I went running yesterday for 3.12 miles ( :) ) and have a really sore lower back now. I thought maybe doing pilates would strengthen my back and core?? Any thoughts?

I absolutely think pilates would help strengthen your back. By the way, your back is part of your core. You might want to consider the new workouts by Tracie Long Training. Yes, it definitely will.

On the other hand, if you're prone to lower back injuries, pilates can be harmful.
