Rhonda::: Love the virgin dust bunny! will have to try it with the kids (and mine may be a non-virgin!LOL)

Marcy::: I like your warm up from yesterday. I've heard good things about Winsor pilates, but they do look more beginner than advanced. I'm sure you are in the advanced category.

Laura::: I don't like high reps/low weights either. I have P90X (or did till I gave it to my brother) I didn't like it. Too repetitive, didn't like the jokes after the first 4 times, Tony's okay, but all in all I just didn't like it. My brother however, loves it and is a big fan. I also think Marcy likes it. I know I am in the minority of people who don't like him. If you do a search on the forum you'll find a lot of threads about it.

Today was a variety day for me so I did deadlifts and pullups.

2 sets 20 swings 24kg kettlebell
warm up set of DL's

WOD:
deadlifts
3X3 @ 140#
1X2 @ 145#
1X3 @ 145#
1X 1 @ 150#
2X1 @ 155#!!!(PR:))


pullups
2 X 5 assisted

NOTES:
* deadlfits:
after doing 145# the first set, I realized I could have done 3 reps, so did another set of 3 reps. After I hit my pr of 155#, I was so psyched I wanted to lift it again!! LOL! (so I did!)

*really worked hard on the deadlifts, not much left for the pullups. wanted to do 3X15 for the pullups, but that wasn't going to happen!
* pullups had really good form! (to make up for the fact there were so few!)

I was able to get my run in yesterday between showers. :)

DH is in the workshop today building hunting blinds without at plan...I'm staying far, far away.

Rhonda - I have an entire IKEA kitchen in my spare room that will eventually need to be assembled...wanna help? I'll make Dust Bunnies! :p

Deanie - You're kickin' deadlift butt chickie...great job! Have fun at the picnic and fireworks. :)

Jane - Have a great race today!

Marcy - WTG on your chin ups! I have Yoga Shakti and need to spend some more time with it. The closest I've ever come to doing a hangstand was when I was using that DVD regularly.

Laura - I have P90x, but haven't used it in a while. I did do the 90 day classic rotation once and made some really good upper body strength gains from it. Overall I thinks it's a very good program, and the individual workouts stand up fine on their own if you didn't want to commit to the full blown program. I like Tony...I think he's kinda goofy, but his personality can be grating for some people. $40 USD is a really great price for it. I think it's more than $100 USD to buy it from Beachbody. If you do a search for it in the Open Discussion forum, you'll find loads of threads on it with a lot of info.

Hi Everyone,

Race morning was great. The temperature was a pleasant 68 degrees under clear skies. Nice shady course. I was pleased with my time. I had a big lunch with lots of yummy things, then I went over to the pool and swam 100 laps.

Hello ladies! I have just a quick second to let you know what I have been up to.

Y'day I did a 3 mile run, plus canoeing a few miles. The beer and cookies I ate counteracted all that work so I guess it doesn't count now. :p

Today I did a MAJOR leg workout; heavy lunges, light lunges w/ high reps, heavy squats, squat jumps, DL (the kind Deanie and Gayle do - I liked 'em!), air squats, box step ups, box jumps - as you can see I really mixed it up. Phew! What a workout!!! But with the crap I ate at MIL's house I am not really sure that it did anything but counter the effects of junk food.

This weekend, I ate a lot of crap. :eek:

But it was fun. :D

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick check in. I went to the track this afternoon and did running drills and bleacher runs. It was cloudy and breezy so it wasn't too hot.
