I needed to shake up my exercise routine so I just purchased my first kettlebell and wanted to buy the AOS providence workout.I wanted to know if I would be able to follow it using the right form without purchasing a basic instruction workout dvd first.I got the short basic moves dvd that came with the with the gofit kettlebell I just bought. Will that suffice? Also, does anyone recommend any of the other dvd's out there for kettlebell? Thanks in advance

there was just a thread about providence and another one that is a remake with a woman and Anthony. This one is supposed to have instructions and such on it as well as the workout. here is a link:
http://store.beacon-fitness.com/servlet/-strse-1/The-Kettlebell-Way-cln--Volume/Detail

And target has 2 beginner videos with lots of instruction and a workout for 14.99 each. I just got vol 2 and am going to try it out tonight. I can look up form and tips online if I need help.
AOS has a page with clips with that also.

I'm actually excited now to try KB and I wasn't so interested before.

I'd recommend the Sarah Lurie Iron Core I and II workouts, which are the ones at Target that Jess mentioned.

I'd wait a bit on Providence (it's a bit more advanced), but you could pick it up now (or, better, the "Kettlebell Way to a Perfect Body" remake of it, with the tutorial segments--on sale for $10 off for the moment) and have it on hand for when you're ready.

I'd second what Kathryn just said, and get The KB Way DVD instead of AOS Providence since, like Kathryn said, it's $10 cheaper than the regular Providence and also has a tutorial.

I recently bought AOS Newport (http://www.artofstrength.com/dvdworkout/tabid/182/Default.aspx) (but I bought it on Amazon since Amazon has free shipping) and Keith Weber's Extreme Cardio workout (http://www.dragondoor.com/dv052.html), and those are a lot of fun, too! They're definitely more advanced, though, so I'd recommend using The KB Way and the Sarah Lurie ones for awhile to get your form down.

HTH! :) Working with the KB's is soooo much fun!

Thanks Jess,Kathryn and Leanne for all your help.I am going to go to Targets today to get the Sarah Lurie dvds and then also order the KB way to start things off.I rather start off slowly and learn good form before jumping into things. Thanks again
