Happy Weekend ladies...

Feeling good today. Alot of the DOMS are subsiding...I am going to give the Travel Fit a try today...I have to see if I have a different band though. The Cathe resistance bands are tough. I may give the pink one a try. Didn't Cathe mention something about having a resistance band made for purchase to go along with the Travel Fit DVD? I need to check that out...

Not much going on today..Lauren has choir practice and then we will go to mass tonight..The rest of the day probably some house work. That never seems to be done!

Be back later!!

Good Morning, Kathy, ...and everyone!

Kathy: Oh! Let us know how Travel Fit is. Sounds like a cool workout. I did read where the FIRST green band that Cathe sold (I still have mine) is the right one to use for this workout. Definitely not the STS version. Sounds like a nice low key day for you guys.

I'm really finding that the meditations are making me feel better. There's probably not a good chance that I'll get to do one today though (with the boys home). I guess if it gets too rough with them, I'll throw on my iPod and listen to block them out! LOL!...

It was kind of good feeling to do all those healthy things yesterday. I know today won't be quite like that, but I'll see what I can do to at least do better.

Not even sure if/what I'll do for a workout. Leaving right after this for Zach's paper route, and then picking up one of Alex's friends to play over here for the day. I'm going to make a new soup today in my crockpot: Split Pea with ham (the boys will have noodles and cottage cheese). I'd LIKE to sneak in a 30 minute workout of some sort. It gets me anxious thinking about trying to squeeze a workout in my day today.

Funny thing, I DID eat 100% clean yesterday, with that VERY small workout, and the scale was down this morning. *Hmmmm* ... I think Jillian may have a point!

better go, the natives are getting restless....

Good morning! Yes, Kathy, let us know how travel fit is. I didn't even bother taking it with me on my trip since I was on my recovery week. As it turned out, the hotel suite, which had three! -- yes, three! count 'em! -- tvs did not have a single dvd player. Kind of strange! So, I only ran on the treadmill while I was there -- did real rests the other two days.

Chris, good luck with the workout -- it is so hard with the kids around -- especially if one of them has a friend over, right? Nice work on the scale! I have been much better, though there was some slippage yesterday, and the scale is rewarding me as well.

Before I forget! Hottie, sometime before NYE you asked if having kids around makes it harder to eat better and I'm not sure anyone answered you, but the answer is most definitely yes! I was much better when I was single -- even just "child" Larry made it more difficult. But then with kids you will find that you are preparing food for them constantly, it seems, and so you're just around it more, so that makes it tough, but also, I find myself sampling things I never would have eaten before children! You know, the noodles with butter & cheese, the mac & cheese, etc. I also tend to keep cookies in the house where I never used to. I try to buy ones I don't like, but that sample size is mighty small. :p

Ok, my workout.... meso 2 is not superset all.... well, the legs with trisets seemed to get what they are after -- not much rest, but today I did back and bi and remember all the rest time in between. Where I could (no equipment/glove changes), I tried to do my chiro exercises during the rests. But, the rep count is what they were after, so whatever. I'm really much more forgiving, and feel much more freed up thinking about what Jillian said. I know I got a good workout. Anyway, then I did the cardio blast premix from Drill Max. (Larry just walked by and started singing "I just want to Cathe all the time, Cathe all the time..." to the tune of "party all the time"). The drill holding the stability ball was killer for me and I put the ball down partway through, and I skipped the last one altogether (thank you very much, Jillian! ;)) because it was fast feet and I was so done!!

Ok, I really have to get Travis cracking the books today!!! Have a great day everyone Waves to Joanne if you're out there!

HI everyone...

I have to say that I really really like Travel Fit. It is a great workout to take with you on travel or at home. The band really works the muscles. I used the pink band from fit by cathe line and a FIRM one that was a little lighter resistance for the shoulder work. I couldn't stand on the pink one and lift it over my head. It was just too tight...It didn't have hardcore cardio in it. But, you could add it with another DVD at home or some other cardio on travel. Thumbs up for me on another great shock cardio...

Thanks for the report, Kathy! Sounds good. I meant to mention that I saw Cathe posted that even she would not attempt travel fit with those sts bands! I seem to have a bazillion different bands around, so I figure I'll find something that'll work..... my pink STS band snapped, unfortunately -- I did like that one. I use the green now. I cannot even imagine using the next one up!!

Howdy! I fell off the clean wagon yesterday. Ate six slices of pizza. SIX. Anyway, I tried Circuit Blast again. A couple modifications and pauses. Mostly...anything with those squat thrust/pushups...I think my belly gets in the way. I tried it today with three risers instead of four. Made it more doable but I think in general I can do four. I previews some of MMA fusion...it looks like it can be a ton of fun! Have you guys done that one?!? I like the spinning elbow.

Kathy -- so happy that Travel Fit rocks. It looks like such a nice idea/workout. It also seems like the kind of thing that Cathe literally could make a series behind and be a pioneer in video fitness again (not that she isn't already).

Beth -- eeek, so it doesn't get easier, eh? I use the blue band for firewalkers but I use my grey theraband for everything else. Those nonlatex bands Altus makes are just bad quality. I have nonlatex bands from theraband and they are superior in every way. Oh well. I do not nearly have the band collection you do...I think I may invest in more this year.

Chris -- Meditation is supposed to do wonders...I should get back in the habit. I'm sitting down this weekend and trying to schedule out my life better...maximize my utility of happiness kind of sorts. We'll see how far I get!!

Oh and if you guys didn't know...belt sanders are awesome. :)

No one here yet??? Good morning!

I was going to run today, but I have to pick Travis up from a sleepover in a few minutes, and woke up early so figured I'd get some workout in. I did a bunch of barre ab work, and some kbell swings -- the swings were really intense for me for some reason, so didn't do it that long. Don't know what to make of that! But, I feel like I should still go for a quick run later or something (it's still dark out here!).

No, Hottie, I'd say it gets harder!!! I guess I don't really have a bazillion bands, but it does seem like a lot of workouts came with bands, so I have an abundance. I did finally order a loop before xmas for firewalkers, and it's really nice not having to tie and untie!

We went looking for a new couch yesterday and I think found one we both like, finally. But, it comes in only white, black, and brown. The brown is out due to carpet color and wood color in the room, so we're actually thinking white. Think I'm crazy?! We figure black will show the cat hair more, and might just be a bit too black. So, we may be doing more of that today. I really need to get Travis getting more work done though. All he did yesterday was one book report. He needs do another book report, watch a movie about a person who's life changed and write a report on that. Hmmm, that's a lot if we're going to try to get other things done!

Chris, how was work? Waves to Kathy and Joanne....

White Couch! i have this brown couch that's supposed to hide stains but between Joe and Evee it still looks dirty. I don't know what I'm going to do today...I did a circuit so I was thinking some hard core cardio today but I don't know what...don't know if I'll do an interval or steady state...step or KB...Shock Cardio or no. i should figure out my day soon...I want to work in lab for a while but I want to keep moving on the cabinet restoration project at home. Will let you all know what's up later...

White couch, yes. I guess you would vote in the "crazy" category. :D

I feel so good! We are having a "free swap" at school -- take your stuff and see if anyone wants it. Some roller skates disappeared before I even had things set up. I have high hopes to not have to pick up much at the end of the day.... but even if I do, then it's already in my car and I can drop it off at good will tomorrow. I love getting rid of stuff! Then I came home and hauled out a bunch of garbage and recycling, and we're now working on setting up the new workout room -- not in the barn -- that's going to take too long. We're putting it in the living room, which never gets used. We were thinking of getting a pool table for it, but I guess it'll be my workout room. I'm psyched. Call me crazy again, but we are putting the tv inside the fireplace that is never used. I feel like it's going to be working out in an original firm mansion setting. :D Still have to find a rug for it though.

I think we won't be buying the couch today because Larry is busy making a stand for the tv/fireplace. Yes, we are crazy. I'm very psyched though. I think both rooms are going to be much more organized and useful. I think we'll work on rearranging the other room even if we don't get the couch ordered today.

Progress!!!

What workout did you do, Hottie? Kathy, enjoy your rest day!!!
