Just getting us started.

Cardio day for me so I'll be getting on my TM w/ CCv1 followed by 200 swings and call it a day.

Hope all are doing well and staying as warm as possible.

Talk to you later......

Hey Vilma!

Where's everyone hiding today???

I'm having another nice quiet day at home. Not even going out today. It's colder than you-know-what out there! High of 15 today with wicked wind chills. Not going out, and you can't make me!!

I even wore long pants to do my workout today (my running pants!). I did FF's Rotation's workout for the day: Pyramid Back, Biceps & Shoulders, repeating the "Ups" and then tacking on one more exercise from GS. Holy COW, I was struggling on some of those at the end! My chest is still sore from Monday, and I swear, my legs are still tight/sore from Friday!!!

Vilma: Your workout sounds like a goodie today! You don't get tired of doing KBs every day yet? Hope your headache is history and the day is quiet for you!

Hi Vilma and Chris and all that follow!

Vilma, sounds like a good workout today. So, are you using the kettlebells more for cardio now? I have to ask - how warm is it there today? Just so I can live vicariously...;) It was 12 degrees on the way to work, but it's supposed to drop below zero and stay there for the next 50 hours or so. Oh, yippee!

Chris, sounds like a plan - staying nice and warm indoors!! We should have had snow day today, but nope. I guess it'll be nice in June when they don't have to make up days, but now it's tough! FF's weight work sounds so tough!

This morning was Burn Circuit 2 from CLX. Wow - I was dying in some parts! I really tried to push the limits with my weights and really felt it. I think I'm going to like this - it's so different from anything else I've done - hopefully my body will like it too!

Back to work....

Grr...my computer isn't recognizing the internet at work so I have to go to another computer. Last night I did 4DS: Bootcamp with Joe, cardio first, weights together, and then he did his cardio. I forgot how hard Bootcamp is for me. It's a bit higher impact in the beginning than some of the other Cathe workouts so it winds me a bit in the beginning but after everything gets warm, I can handle it. (though, I was counting how many drills were left after each one!). I have a harder time with some of the rounds/supersets in that Bis/Tris than in some of the other workouts but that's fine, I like challenges. Today I was hoping to do LIS in the entirety with weights before I got into work but both Joe and I could not MOVE out of bed. I may drop in to the school gym because we have a free week of preview classes for the term and I'm thinking about actually paying for it since they have some real variety for the classes. Today is supposed to be a Kickboxing class and tomorrow a muscle conditioning. I really want to do 4DS this week so I'm crossing my fingers that it will happen.

Pretty cool thing this morning. I measured my waistline after I ate breakfast. I've lost 8.5 inches there from my worst. (I have to admit though, these last 2-3 inches have taken forever though.)

Vilma, have a nice TM run. I know you love those swings!
Chris, I am like *this* close to getting the pyramid stuff. Sounds like your hubby needs to treat you to a massage!! I think I've mentioned this before, but if you can get it, given your discplined weight work, I highly suggest thai yoga massages. It's great to lengthen and ease the muscles. (I love them more out here because the place I go to charges $45/hr and is walking distance from my apartment!)
Joanne, CLX sounds tough too!! I can't wait to try all these workouts you guys do eventually!

BBl hopefully...if I get my internet back...

Hi All! Internet hosedness here, too! Finally back.....

ok, I hate to tell you this, but it's been in the 70s here. Live vicariously -- wish I could ship some of it to you. It's spring. I sure hope we have some more winter though -- we really need some rain!

I did CLX BC2 this morning -- thought about you, Joanne. There were times I wanted to hurl during this workout. It's really different. I guess that's all I can say.

Hottie, awesome news on the waist! Wow!!

-Beth

Beth, I know, I really felt pushed to my limits during BC2 today. Hated it while I was doing it cause it was so tough. Afterwards, I was like, wow, that was a good workout! Well, if we could figure out a way to transport all this snow to you, we'd solve your drought situation!

Hottie, wow, 8.5 inches is awesome! How long did it take?

My internet has been goofy here, too. Thank goodness the day is almost over. Except I have to make the trek to the train. It's 13 degrees outside now. Brrrr!

Have a good evening all.

Joanne

Hello! I am definitely having a more upbeat day since my internet came back. So, I think my worst was mid-August of 2007. Didn't start Cathe until the end of 07-beginning of 08 but that's what I started counting calories (blech!) and dedicating more effort to working out. So, 8.5 inches in slightly over 15 months. In poundage, that's 45 lbs. Yay!

So, I have mixed but mostly positive feelings about the kickboxing class I went to. I'm so lame -- I specifically went front and center so I wouldn't run away when things got hard. I cramped up twice...one I was really quick to stop and massage it out the other was in my right quad and it still twinges a bit. It's a bit of a circuit workout the way the to the point of being annoying upbeat UNDERGRADUATE SENIOR taught the class which I liked. I had to modify and i felt really stupid because I realized walking onto the rather slippery studio floor that, "crap, I shouldn't have my running shoes on." If I go next time, I'll bring in better shoes so I don't slip around as much. Tomorrow they have a muscle conditioning class that I'd like to try.

I'm also happy because that undergraduate student that I had in fall has really warmed up to me. I had asked to her to not come in last term because I felt like she had too many responsibilities and I didn't want her to half-a$$ her post here and also not get good grades. She came back and worked with me in the break and I was really happy with how much she retained and how quickly she's picking up some stuff. And she's opening up and laughing and even making jokes with (and at) me sometimes. I don't think she realizes how happy that makes me when I show her new things.

Well, Beth and I do get spoiled with the weather (though I didn't like it being 85-88 for the last two days). Today's perfect though. The transporting of the snow made me nostalgic though...when I was an undergraduate at Caltech, every February a bunch of students from my House (think co-ed frat) would take a uhaul up to the mountains at 2a, fill it up with snow, and then bring it back to campus, dump it on the lawn in front of the faculty club, and we'd have a snowball fight. I just made tickets to NJ over president's day so hopefully there's snow for my nieces and me to play in.

I don't think there's anything else other than OWWWIE on the way CLX sounds like. And Beth -- I'm not sure if you get it up north like we do here, but I am personally dreading that 2-3 week nonstop rain we get February (mostly because no one out here knows how to drive in it!). I know we need to heal the drought, but ehhh...driving in LA in the rain...blehhh....

Ok, I'm actually going ot take a walk and get some sun....
