It's ALL your fault!

Okay, I just ordered P90-X after reading the recent posts. And it's all your fault!;) I'm already working on justifying this to my DH. The Cathe Pre-Order was my birthday, so I guess this is early Christmas. Why didn't I wait until Christmas? Because we're talking semi-impulse here!}(

Actually, I've had this on hold at the library, but I'm way down the line. I just wanted to have a look at it since you can only check DVD's out for a week and can't renew if they've got a hold on them. I can't see how I could complete the whole system using library copies. But since I trust in your opinions so implicitly, I took the plunge.

Thanks to all you enablers!

P.S. I skipped all the extra stuff, however. Has anyone purchased a chin-up bar separately? Where did you find one? I thought $70 was a little high, but maybe I'm wrong. I'll check Fitness Wholesale and see what I can come up with.

Somehow I knew this was gonna involve me:p

You're welcome ;) You're gonna love it. I bought my own pull-up bar and I can't actually remember where I got it. Sportchek, I think.

Hi Carol!
That is so funny because after reading recent posts I went and bought P90X this morning too! Never mind justifying it to my SO, I'm having trouble justifying it to MYSELF!! :D

I didn't buy the extra stuff either and I was wondering what to do about a chin-up bar. I don't know where to get one or how to install it. Is it really necessary for these workouts? I'm sure everyone is going to say "of course!!!" but I am hesitant to buy yet another piece of exercise equipment!!

Congrats Carol and Allison!! You will love P90X....I already had a machine with a pull-up bar attachment...

Shelley...you are such an enabler...:)

>Allison - you can use the band option for the pull-ups and
>chin-ups, but you do need something to loop it over.

Thanks, Shell! I'll look into buying a pull-up bar, though... :)

Allison

I LOVE you guys!!!

I'm folding laundry and researching chin-up bars. I'm finding this Door Gym. It looks similiar to the one sold on Beachbody and doesn't require installation--just uses resistance (no problem there).;-) So far Karate Depot has the best price of $47.95 + 2.95 shipping. Some other sites have it for less, but the shipping makes it more expensive. This really will have to wait for Christmas, though. I'll try the band option 'till then.

Shelley, you should contact Beachbody and demand a commission.:D

Have a great day everyone!

Speaking of enablers, I had a little chat with Carole on the road trip }( }( Thanks Carole! Soon I will be starting a P90X/Cathe hybrid rotation and I have you to blame. LOL!

Oh great. I just went to amazon and bought a pull up bar! 40 more bucks down the hole! I'm gonna be homeless soon if I keep spending like this. But at least I'll look good! :p ;) :7

Allison

Oh no! We can't end up homeless--we need a doorframe for the Door Gym. But. . .if we do lose our houses, we can always do pull-ups on the playground equipment at the park. Maybe the local electronics store will let us play our Cathe workouts on their floor models. Can you just see us pushing a shopping cart around with our step and weights in it? Better make that 2 carts--we've got the mini-step and the barbell, too.:+

Hey Beavs!!! I actually like being blamed for getting people to try a new workout like P90X!!
}( :+ :7 You will have to let me know how the rotation goes when you start it...:)

Ooh, goodie!!!! You'll love it!!! I'm on round 2 of P90X and loving it even more this round!!

My dh made me a chinup bar in the garage out of black cast iron pipe (he got it at Lowe's) & screwed it into the ceiling. Of course, that means that I have to run up the stairs & out to the garage for each set of pullups, but I just count it as extra exercise. :p
