Is Marcy Kettle a good buy?

Dear All,

I need your help about this gift for myself. I had heard you guys talking about how effective kettleball training. My knees and feet limited my running and steps. I need to increase my cardio in order to get in shape. I saw this sale in Costco.com

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC11001-Cat2268&topnav=

My questions are:
  1. Is Marcy brand a quality one?
  2. How is the price, $114 for 4 sets including shipping?

All replys are appreciated.

IMO, 5# is a pretty worthless KB weight. If you need something that light for Turkish get-ups, for example, just sub a dumbell instead.
That makes the price a price for 3 usable bells (though the 10# is also pretty light, if you plan to do regular KB workouts).

I've also never heard of the Marcy brand (for KB's or anything else, for that matter). I'd want to see them in person to feel the handles and look them over.

Thanks, Kathryn. I will go to Target to check out Gofit one.

I don't have any DVD of kettlebell yet. I did not find any kettlebell trainer in my town. Which DVD do you recommend to buy?

Thanks

The GoFIt bells come with a tutorial of about 5 moves.
It's a good idea, IMO, to get those moves down (especially swings) before doing workouts.
Good workout DVDs:
Lauren's Brooks DVD
Kettlebell Way to your Perfect Body
These two would be a good start.

I'd also recommend possible a more detailed tutorial/training DVD, like Lisa Shaffer's at www.nofearfitness.com (both DVD and workbook available. Some of the workbook is also excerpted online somewhere as a 4-5 page program).

I had Marcy weight lifting gloves 20 years ago. Marcy brand has been around forever. Can't answer any questions, though.
