Interval Exercise During Preg

Just wondering if there are some specific reasons -- for Mom and Baby-- as to why it is recommended to drop interval exercising from your program during pregnancy? I enjoy IntervalMax and feel comfortable doing this with modification at this point. I am not pushing as hard as b4 and thusprobably not in the midst of true interval training but enjoy the format. Can you please enlighten me?

Interval exercise

Hi! The reason that you should not be doing interval workouts during pregnancy is because interval workouts are used to push one beyond their aerobic comfort zone in order to increase their aerobic capacity, therfore, making this an extreme type workout. Extreme exercise can cause too large of a shift of oxygen away from the uterus. Mom and baby should obviously never be deprived of oxygen.

If you are truly enjoying interval workouts simply for their formats, then you may stick with them AS LONG AS YOU NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO BECOME TOO WINDED AND/OR BREATHLESS. If you modify the most intense portion of the interval so that it falls well within your aerobic comfort zone then you should be fine. Happy Modifying

Thanks!

This is just as I suspected i.e. it is ok to modify to where it is basically another cardio and use those guidelines. Thank you for clarifying for me!
