I'm not sure if this was appropiate.

>A friend of mine had a doctor who would specifically have her
>keep only her bra on (with a gown) and he would unhook her
>bra. I thought that was totally inappropriate, but she didn't
>seem bothered by it.

That strikes me as seriously creepy. Ew to the doc...

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage

As long as the Dr maintained a professional demeanor, I wouldn't get overly excited about it. I think the problem is more with the Doc given liability issues and frivolous law suits. He is leaving himself wide open for trouble with this type of behavior. If you feel you were groped, then it is a problem and you should talk to someone about it.

Hi Brenda,

I do not know if he is a purvert or not, but what he did was unprofessional to me. A dr. doesn't ask you to strip in front of him, so why should he go up your shorts? Being ask to remove my shorts and have a gown on would of been the professional thing to do!

Yes it made me feel uncomfortable, but I don't feel he wanted to sex or anything! Whatever his intentions,it wasn't right!

I have just decided to go to someone who will be professional and not shove his hands up my shorts and feel my *ss!

>>You might want to clarify that statement, "The laws may be different >>in California: I was told that a male doctor must have another person >>in the room, but a female doctor doesn't. This protects both the >>patient and the doctor."

Oh, excuse me for assuming that we were talking about a FEMALE patient since the OP is a female.

I would have felt uncomfortable also. All of my doctors are male and every one of them has someone else in the room during the examination. I wouldn't think of changing doctors, especially my OB/GYN. He's wonderful and has excellent surgical skills (just in case). When my daughter was in medical school doing her OB/GYN rotation, she visited a practice with two females. While shadowing one of the doctors, she noticed that the woman DID NOT wash her hands in between patients x( !!! Gross!!! My daughter, now a doctor, goes to the same OB/GYN as I do and feels the same way I do about him. Follow your gut. If you felt uncomfortable...there's a reason for that feeling.

Also a great way to spread disease!

That's why I've read you should ALWAYS make sure the doctor washes his/her hands IN FRONT OF YOU.
