I'm feeling just a little guilty...

Cathlete
but not really either. I started getting sick on Tuesday (sore throat, coughing, but just a little). Wednesday it was worse and I stayed home from work on Thursday and Friday. I've cancelled every client since Tuesday because I thought it would be disrespectful for me to potentially infect anyone at the gym. My boss was out sick as well at my fulltime job. There is no way that I will get charged with sick days or have to forfeit the money from not going into work. I've been sleeping in every morning (like 12 hours!!!) and feel 100% refreshed and I haven't worked out since Wednesday. So, why don't I feel more guilty? Today I feel much better and I need to get my butt in gear to try a light Cathe workout (is there such a thing???) and train some clients.

Just processing. Thanks for listening!

Laura,

I'm glad you're feeling better:)

I think I read somewhere that you are expecting a baby? How far long are you?

Laura, You know you need to take care of yourself at this point! You did the right thing. I have had this happen lately too. Your clients will understand.

What about LIC for "easier" Cathe? It is the only step routine I have kept up these last 7+ months? Do a premix if you can't handle the whole thing.
Good luck! Clarissa

Thanks Cynthia. I'm 25 weeks on Tuesday. I did a very light Cathe workout and then 35 minutes of easy cardio. It was definitely enough.

Hey Clarissa,

I did a 45 minute chest workout but went very easy on the weight lifted. I walked on an incline at the gym for 15 minutes and did the stepper for 20 minutes. My lungs were on fire so that was it for me. I'll try a little today as well. It's back day baby! ;)

What speed are you maintaining on walking now? That is the difference for me. I can still lift exactly the same with all my weights, but my speed and inclines on walking have suffered. I used to easily walk 4.4 mph on the highest incline. Now, just yesterday, I attempted 3.7-4.0 mph and I couldn't do it. I got sharp pains in my sides, bad (zero incline too! )

Hi Sweet Lady! :) Yesterday I could only hold at 4.0 because of my lungs, but I can still run at 4.5-5.0 for about 1-2 minutes at 15% incline. Today I was able to do easy Cathe again for 40 minutes and a back workout. I'm not pushing it too much. I'm trying (maybe) for 5 minutes more of cardio a day to max out at 50-55 minutes. That's when I'll start to add in the intensity. Put it this way, today was such low intensity that I only used one riser on each side with no "power".

Check out the pregnancy check in--I just posted some photos that my DH took this morning. I'm feeling pretty good in my skin since I still have a tiny bit of abs on the side and still fitting into my clothes.

There's no reason why you should feel guilty.
You are taking care of yourself (health and fitness isn't just working out!).

I still have my uppermost abs too! You wait - you will probably still have yours once you deliver. I remember 2-3 hours after DD was born, I went into the bathroom to see how "saggy" I was and was surprised to see my 4 out of 6 pack still there! You will probably be the same! Just the lowers need re-developed.

I hope so! :D
