I'm going out tonight, to my SO's crappy work Christmas party (it's Karaoke and I don't drink - need I say more?)....

So I'm getting ready...

AND MY HAIR LOOKS FABULOUS!!!

My hair NEVER looks anything more than blech, except when the hairdresser does it. I don't know what I did tonight, but mark this day down in your calendars. It may well be one of the seven signs of the impending apocalypse:p

Silly, the things I get excited about.:p
 
Congrats! I have NEVER been able to accomplish that either. Our Christmas party at work is this week, and I just *know* that by the end of the day (the party is at 6), my hair will be flat, full of static, and just impossible to really control.

Well, if ya can't enjoy the party, enjoy your hair! Go in to the bathroom every 30 minutes and stare at yourself for 30 seconds! :p

Kareoke...gosh, I used to do that every week for a quite some time! Had so much fun! I was younger then...don't know if I'd do it now. Actually, truth be told, when I was into it I wasn't even old enough to drink! I was singin' Kareoke at 18!!! Was I nuts!?! :p :7 :p
 
Maybe I'll just spend the whole time in the bathroom, admiring my hair. Guaranteed I won't EVER be able to reproduce this look.:p

LOL. I am happy for ya Shelley. That NEVER happens when I'm going anywhere important. Only on days when I don't see a soul, except my children. So am I to assume you won't be wearing a watermelon helmet on this special occasion?????

Oh Shelley...thanks for sharing. I agree with Pinky and hope you did sing to "showcase" your hair...at the very least. Personally, I believe you have a lot to showcase. Hope to see some pics!!!

I'm late to the post but I'm here.

I know what you mean, UHG! I scheduled my hair apt. on the day of the party. There are so many new people at my DH's work that I don't know how I'm going to pass the time. I really enjoy a small meaningful conversation more than small talk and akward pauses.

It was AWFUL!!!! The best thing about it was my hair:p

Okay, first of all... it was in a private room at a pub. For approximately 60 people, we had ONE server who took orders and she had one person helping her deliver orders. It was taking over an hour to get anything to eat and drinks weren't much better.

The Karaoke was .... ugly. There was one girl who had a fair voice and she did a couple of songs. There were a few people who got up and obviously knew they couldn't sing so they made it into a fun thing, which was fine (two British guys got up and sang Supercalafragialistic...:p). It was the people who got up and truly thought they sounded GREAT but didn't who were so sad. It was hard to know where to look.

This party was at a pub. Most people showed up dressed fairly casually, ranging from jeans to dress pants and a nice top, etc. However, there were a few people who clearly thought it was the Oscars. One girl had on a full-length, sequined gown. Another was wearing a red satin dress, high strappy heels and a black satin jacket. There were a few girls who obviously called each other beforehand to see what they were wearing, because they all showed up in some variation of a dark red corset-type top, a flouncy black mini skirt and heels. One of them had stockings and garters on that were hanging out the bottom of her skirt and I swear any second she was going to bust out of the top she was wearing. It was gross.

Okay, rant done.

And today, my hair looks as mediocre as it normally does.:p

Oh, and I did NOT sing.;)

I got a chuckle :7 from your post. Sorry for laughing at your expense but I will get mine soon. Oh how I dread this but I know that DH enjoys going. Maybe this year will be different.

Oh poor Shelley! Sorry you had an awful time but I'm sure laughing about in now is fun, right? So it wasn't a total waste! And hey...you had a GREAT HAIR NIGHT! How many times did you sneak off to the bathroom to admire your do? ;)
 
Shelley, I'm sorry the party was NOT fun, but glad your hair looked great. Just think of all the party attentees who are now talking on their own favorite forums about that girl with the beautiful hair at the bad party they went to over the weekend.
