I am never eating duck again!

I really really love the taste & OK, I knew it wasn't the best diet food in the world, but I was gonna treat myself tonight so I bought some at the gourmet supermarket. Since I started a serious diet this week, I figured I'd better check the nutrition info before I ate it. OMG!:eek::eek::eek:

bleah! I tried duck at chinese restaurant in NYC a few years back and hated it! So greasy. The fact that I was super hungover didn't help either.

I won't say anything about it's nutritional content since I just ate a 1/2 lb. pepperjack cheeseburger, with fresh potato chips and 2 pints of beer from my favorite downtown Buffalo restaurant. If you're ever here...stop in at the Pearl St. Grill! I love being at work with a slight buzz.

Wait...wait...wait...how could there be 0g of protein in a meat source? Are you sure that's right?

OMG I am such an idiot, I didn't look very closely--I think I just about fell off my chair when I saw that 100! Here's what I was looking at:

Ummm WTH is that anyway? Does anyone cut the fat off a duck--or ANYTHING for that matter--& eat it alone? :p OK then I am having my duck tonight. I'm glad I didn't just waste $13. Thanks for helping me! LOL!

I LURVE luxury foods. I made crown roast of lamb myself for Xmas dinner this year and I had the most divine foie gras in my life at the French Laundry in early December (not that I could ever afford that place, it was a huge birthday present). As for duck fat, some people like to use it in other recipes (mostly French I think). I think duck is one of those things that when its prepared well, it can making your mouth sing and when its bad, you can't even smell it. My sister used to make a killer duck recipe and I've often joked with my DH about making turducken. Hope you enjoy it Laura!

See now, I'm not a huge fan of lamb. Which is odd b/c I grew up on it, being half Albanian. Except I love gyros, which is only the most fattening food you can eat. Well maybe that & french fries.

Mmmmmm gyros & french fries! Gawd I hate dieting.

Awww, maybe it's because you haven't had MY lamb curry, Laura. Neck and shoulder pieces of lamb were meant to be done in an indian curry style. Even my mid-western Americana husband thinks that now too (and craves it)! I like some gyros, but it depends who makes it.

My husband is a hunter and we eat wild duck and it is very tasty. It's good in stew, soup, BBQ, mainated, yum. And I'm pretty sure it's good for you. Goose on the other hand takes some getting use to...

I love curried anything. And your descriptions are making my mouth water. STOP IT! ;)
