I'm going to see my Aunt this weekend. I will be staying Th/F and coming back home on Sat. We used to be close, but I haven't seen her in about 10 yrs. We talk, but I haven't seen her in a very long time. I feel like I should bring a gift of some sort, but not sure what. I'd bring wine or something of the such, but I'm not sure what they drink. I'd also go for homemade baked goods or flowers, but I'm leaving from work, and I don't trust the people here not to eat food in the fridge and I can't leave it in the car in the heat. Flowers will wilt as well. Suggestions?

Can you send the flowers before you get there? FTD has some same day deliveries. You can also do a potted plant that you could bring into your office.

Maybe you could take her out for a nice dinner.

If it's just your aunt.. Bath and Body works is having a HUGE sale. You could make her a little bath basket. I did this for my mother in law once, and she STILL talks about how much she loved it. I put a lotion and a bubble bath and a nice candle in a little basket and left it in her bathroom for her with a sweet note.

If she's married and you want to give it to the whole group, Wine Country Gift baskets has GREAT baskets that you could order ahead of your trip. You could get a basket with wine or without. They have lots of snacky stuff in them, etc. And they are really pretty.

OR you could put together a breakfast basket for them with local stuff from where you are coming. Like if you have a great local jam or honey, put that in with a pancake mix or a biscuit mix (a fancy one), a pretty dish towel, a nice whisk and a gourmet coffee/and or box of tea. And maybe even two mugs.

OR you could put together a movie basket for them with one or two movies, some popcorn and lots of candy/snacks...

(Can you tell I like to make baskets for people??)
