HIIT ~

Fitness-Mom

Cathlete
Good Morning-

I have been doing alot of reading on HIIT training.
I was going to try and do 2-3 days HIIT, w/ more weight training in between.
Can someone provide me w/ some suggestions of HIIT training using the Cathe workouts?
I was thinking in the lines of; Imax's (Just the blasts, w/ WU).
Any other suggestion you may have would be great!!!!

Thanks so much ~

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training - I'm curious to know this as well - anyone know if Cathe's workouts qualify as HIIT? Imax 2 or 3? Low Max? Anything with a blast segment?

That depends on your definiton of HIIT. Many would say yes and many would say no. They are definately interval training. But from what I've read true HIIT you should not be able to do for more than 20-30 minutes if you can do it for an hour the intervals are not intense enough. I am no expert, this is just what I have read. Of course I say do what works for you.

ETA here's an article that describes HIIT routines on the second page: http://www.askmen.com/sports/bodybuilding_100/135b_fitness_tip.html Again this defines the IMAXs as interval not HIIT. HIIT is supposedly superior for burning fat. However, that does not make interval training ineffective. HTH

I did Imax 3 (WU, All 10 Blasts, & Stretch) today, boy what a work-out, it was FUN, I was dripping w/ sweat!!

Looking into past discussions about HIIT Training, this type of workout was considered to be HIIT!!
