Hi there~

I understand your frustration over weight gain. About eight years ago I weighed about 184lbs. at 5'3". I remember clearly the day I began to change the way I thought about exercise and food. I did two things: I took a 3mi. loop and walked it. I added a veggie and fruit to every meal, threw out anything in a package, and drank allot of water.

Long story short, I began my walking program in June and by I had lost 35lbs, by April of the following year that 3mi. loop turned into a love for jogging ( wogging really an 12 min. mile) and I trained and "wogged" a marathon. It was the December before that I added weight workouts ( from Cathe of course) and really saw my body shape change!

Really Heather, you can do it! I like to say it's like eating an elephant a bite at a time...;-) dmd

What a great, inspiring story! And, yes, Heather, you CAN do it! And believe me, if you're looking for support, you're in the right place. These ladies are fantastic.:)

Thanks Shelley,

As I read that my little fitness story back I did not mention to Heather that after the initial 35lb loss, I lost another 30lbs when I added weights and continued the "wogging". I remember that back then Dr. Laura had a radio show and I would take my walkman and listen...when she stopped talking I stopped walking. Her shows were and hour long and for someone at 180lbs. plus that was a loooong time.

That's so amazing. The most I've weighed is when I was 9 months pregnant, I weighed 208 lbs. The most I weighed NOT pregnant was about 165/170 lbs. After I had my baby, I lost a lot of weight through stress (she had colic and I wasn't prepared for a baby, apparently). I went down to 135 but wasn't toned at all. Then I discovered working out (started with Tae Bo), then running and THEN I discovered Cathe and haven't looked back. I thought I was doing well until I came on this Forum and realized that I'm an amateur compared to a lot of people, in terms of knowledge and intensity and variety. So I'm taking that knowledge and kicking it up a notch!

Thanks ladies:)

Yep, there are some ladies here who are the real deal! Athletes really and very knowledgable. You know who they are...the ones who supplement their sport with Cathe workouts. Then there are the Cathe Athletes for whom conquering these workouts is a sport indeed!

I love to hear about woman like yourself you find what works for them. Striking a balance in life between family/fitness/food/Sleep/Jobs is where the real work is in my opinion...and still find joy in the process:)
