Hey runners - what kind of headphones

Cathlete
It's time to get a new pair. One pair quit working on one side and the others - that got me through the winter - are the ear bud style that no longer stay in during my summer sweat sessions! Any recommendations would be reallt appreciated. With three kids home all summer, looking around stores is NOT an inviting option :)

I use Skullcandy's non-earbud versions- their DJ versions, actually. They are huge, but the sound quality is excellent, and they allow a little sounds through for safety on the streets. Very reasonably priced. I hate ear buds- no matter what kind, they always irritate my ear.

How about the Sony ones that go over your ear? They are a little tricky to figure out how to wear, they are ear buds. They have a piece of plastic that curls up and around the back of the ear that keeps them in place. They are the only ear phones that don't fall off. I tuck the cord down my shirt and put my shuffle at the bottom of my shirt. I used to wear the shuffle closer to my neck, but cut myself with it, so I don't do that anymore.

I actually tried a pair w/ the over-the-ear piece yesterday and the one side kept slipping off after I got really drenched! Maybe the over-the head style is just best?

I have the Sony MDR-A35G S2 Sport Headphones. They're the vertical, headband style and they fold for storage. They were pretty inexpensive, too -- around $20 IIRC. I'm on my 3rd pair in about 5 years and I've been satisfied with them. Obviously, they're not the best option for listening to music, but they're great for running and MP3 workouts.

I also have Skullcandy, but I have the kind that go in the ear. They're the only kind that stay on for me, but I've also been having a problem with them falling out sometimes when I'm sweating buckets, so today I thought I would get some of those 80's headbands to catch the sweat. Of course, this is only an option because I work out at home and NOBODY will see me wearing it!:p

It drove me nuts that my ear buds kept falling out when I ran and sweated. I got some Sennheiser MX55 Twist-To-Fit through Amazon and they worked awesome!!

I have Sony earbuds and they have never fallen out of my ears. They have a little curve to them which I think helps them stay in place. I grabbed them at OfficeMax.

I have to say I buy the cheap over the head ones with the smaller ear phones that curve into your ears.

Can't do over the ears, they chafe and hurt the back of my ears.

Can't do the ear buds, they fall out.
