Hey Everyone

I'm new to Cathe's videos. I'm 31... 5'2. When I was 18 I started step aerobics. I stepped and also walked about 4 miles most days a week, as well as very striclty watching what I ate. I was in tip top shape. The pounds just melted off. I felt great too. Well, Slowly but surely I quit. There no longer was enough time in the day to work out like I was. I got a demanding job that took a lot of my free time.

So here I am. I'm hoping I get as great of results as I did a decade ago... I would give you all my weight/measurements so you would know my progress, but I honestly don't own scale. I got over that a decade ago as well (I used to do that whole 'jump on the scale' but to prove I was getting results) anyway, I got out of that habit and learned that the number simply wasn't too important to me. I guage my weight by my clothes. Next time I'm somewhere where there's a scale I'll weight myself, then maybe a couple months from now i'd be amazed right? haha!

Anyway, I ordered the club step that came with the 3 video package to start out with. I find the basic step a bit too easy for me... but I do need to get used to the moves on the tougher video... I also ordered the club step since I felt I may need the larger for the tougher videos, and I am having a hard time getting used to it... I was always used to a smaller step. I'll get there.

I've read through a lot of everyones posts... so, I thought I would say Hello to everyone!

Oh, one more thing. It was rather funny... I came across a thread where people were talking about problems with veiny arms. I don't have that problem now, but when I did step aeorobics and walked, I too had that problem... (I never once lifed weights either) It surely doesn't take lifting to cause it. I was a bit thin, but my body tends to make muscle without weights for some reason, if I put a lot of reistance effort into certain moves.

sorry this is runon, it's early, not enough coffee yet.

Welcome Stephanie!:)

Sounds like you're off to a great start with Cathe and I agree the club step was a worthwhile purchase.

I hope to see you posting. You'll find excellent advice, information and motivation here.

oh... and by the way. How on earth do any of you get used to working out first thing in the morning? I was always an afternoon workout person... I feel as though I don't have the energy built up in the AM to even attempt. I'm about to try it again now after all these years though ;)

Thank you for the welcome ;)

Yeah, I actually did some research on the forums before purchasing the step... *grin*

I need motivation help alright... to workout (cardio) in the AM!

aaahhhh! not a morning person.

Hi Stephanie and welcome! :)

I switched to early morning exercise about eight years ago and can't imagine doing it any other way now. BUT, it was a slow process. I started by just actually dragging my bottom out of bed at an early enough time to fit in my workout and, at first, just sat on the couch or staired at the treadmill, etc. After a few days of this, I would get on the treadmill, but take it easy. My body eventually acclimated to the early hour and after about 6 weeks, it had become a habit. So, my advice is to take it slowly and be determined! It is an awesome feeling to workout while everyone else is sleeping and to not have any interruptions!

Hope this helps!
