Hemp baking flour?

That's one I haven't tried. Is it hemp with the fat removed? Or just ground hemp?
I'd play it safe and use it in something that could disguise any odd taste (some hemp products and brands are greener/oilier tasting than others), like a bread rather than a cake.

Hey Kathryn! Thanks for responding. It seems to be pretty high in protein (16.5g per 50g) and the description says it has a 'nutty' flavor, which leads me to believe it may be better for bread, like you stated. It's rather expensive but I so rarely use flour, I thought I'd give it a try. Here's the link:

I almost forgot that you are a vegetarian and live in Heidelberg Germany! I became a vegatarian a few month ago! I moved to Grafenwoehr six weeks ago! I shop in the Grafenwoehr Commissary, my question is how much veg./health food can you find in the Heidelberg Commissary?? Do they sell quinoa,edamame or tempeh just to name a few??

Not only am I a vegetarian, I'm vegan (which is a little more difficult here ) To answer your question, no, there really isn't a lot of stuff like that, although they do have frozen edamame and soy milk. For specific vegan stuff (like tempeh, soy yogurt, soy pudding, etc), we shop on the economy at the health food stores - which can be SUPER expensive with the dollar value dropping like a stone and all. Do you find that your commissary carries stuff like that? I've found that most commissaries here carry the same stuff. Has that been your experience?

Carolyn I had know idea that your are a vegan!! I can't find even frozen edamame in our Commissary! Next time you buy some can you send my the name and UPC#?? I was really suprised the commissary in Grafenwoehr is the biggest in Europe, but our commissary in El Paso carried more soy products! El Paso had tempeh! I agree with you that health food here in Germany is super expensive with the dollar being so low! Did you try to find soy products in Kaufland? We have a health food sore in Weiden and they don't have alot of stuff! This weekend I will go to Nuernberg there is a big health food store!!What is tempeth called in German?? LOL! I know I am the German, but I am still new to all of this stuff!

Belinda, I hope your trip to Nuernberg is successful! I have found tempeh in Germany - it's called tempeh here as well. We have a health food store chain here called Al Natura that carries it. There is a really big one in Mannheim and another smaller one in Heidelberg. Do you have those?

Carolyn, No!!I will Google" Al Natura 'in Weiden! Grafenwoehr is a small town! I mean small! I know there is a huge health food store in Nuernberg but I don't know the name!! Interesting tempeh is called the same in German!
