I'm being old-fashioned with smilies again today. Please forgive.

I got all ready to do my workout but each time I would try to set up, the doorbell would ring or the phone would ring.....and then.....I got hungry! x(

So I'm going to do my 10 min cardio warmup plus the BS upper premix I didn't get to do yesterday (due to visitors) and also do the L&G premix that I'm set to do today. I can't be skimping because I'm determined to keep up with Michele and the "fake" STS! :)

I'm going to do some work and digest the ww pasta I just had with cottage cheese, and it was delish. You guys simply don't know how to use cottage cheese. }(

Glad to hear, Jennifer, you've been getting lots of viewing on your new personals site!

Okay. Digest. Work. Then workout. It will allow me to have a yummy smoothie later on, so that's good incentive. :p

When I wrote I was going to do yesterday's plus today's workouts, in the afternoon, no less, I was only sort of writing it out, not fully expecting to really DO it. LOL.

However, I inadvertently discovered something.

During the time span when I was really doing great with my exercise, I threw away all my processed breakfast cereals, and I was eating cut up fruit, yogurt and cottage cheese, and I loved it until I became so utterly sick of it, the mere thought of cut up fruit, yogurt and cottage cheese made me want to run to Starbuck's LOL.

Lately, I've been eating Bran Flakes or Shredded Wheat with soymilk. Two hours after I eat this, I work out, but whenever two hours passes, I somehow get totally sleepy and end up taking a short nap http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/7.gif and then working out. During these workouts, I've felt a lack of concentration and I just want the dang workout to end ;) .

So today, I had my cereal (I'm out of flakes and shredded, so I had oatmeal), then after a few attempts to workout got hungry and ate that ww pasta with cottage cheese (and spinach and pesto).

Then I got up and did some work and then it was time to workout and I had SUCH ENERGY! Doing an hour or working out today was a total breeze!

I'm totally eating the wrong breakfast.

Or else I'm working out at the wrong time for what I'm eating.

Or I had a fluke day and I'm writing all this out in vain. :+



I have to eat a sweet breakfast. There is no option. Hey, I could eat a cinnamon roll and a protein shake for breakfast! :p Just kidding.

And I have the feeling I won't stick to working out if I work out in the afternoon rather than before noon.


Tell me what to do!

Do I go back to the dreaded cut up fruit, yogurt and cottage cheese?
 
August-You need protein in your diet. that's why you might be getting tired, and some iron too. When Denise and I went on our marathon journey, our breakfast was eggs, toast, sausage, and hash browns. That gave us enough energy to not a real meal till 4pm that night. Our breakfast was around 7am.

Yes, I have many hits on yahoo right now. Lots of curiosity with the new person (me) from the men. It's great, most of these guys I don't already know.

But...but the soymilk has 11 grams of protein and the Shredded Wheat has 6 grams of protein!

I thought I was getting sleepy from subconscious workout avoidance LOL.

Eggs, toast, sausage and hash browns! Yum. But only yum if someone makes it for me, and there's a banana or cinnamon apple muffin instead of the sausage. :)

I did the CC Pump workout last night -- WOO HOO I got DOMS :7. I'm not sure what kind of workout I'm doing today. It'll likely be a CC since I did weights yesterday, but I haven't decided which one.

I need HELP! Our favorite waiter in our favorite restaurant is going off to law school. DH and I kind of adopted him -- we're taking him out to dinner Friday night and we'd like to give him a gift but we have no clue what do get him. What do you guys think is an appropriate gift for a guy going off to law school?

AUGIE -- Holy crap! I wish I could do my workout in the morning! I just can't ever seem to get my motor running in the AM. I have been a lot better, though, and getting them done before dinner.

Oh thank you! I can't think of a thing. I might just give him money or a gas card. Gas is over $4/gal right now :eek:

MY BREAKFASTS :

Shredded Wheat & Soymilk
Bran Flakes & Soymilk
Oatmeal & Soymilk

Fresh fruit & Yogurt & Cottage Cheese

Whole Wheat Toast w/Natural Peanut Butter & Black Sesame Spread and a glass of Soymilk


Sometimes I'll make one of them protein pancakes I loves.
Sometimes I'll have some breakfast sweet thingy (Sin-amon Roll) & Soymilk.


Is that variety or what? :D

Now you're talking! That's 7 different brekkies, so just rotate them. For instance, on the days you do cardio, eat one that has more carbs -- carbs that are available for immediate use. On the days you do strength, eat whatever gives you the most energy for that. Or try just eating something really small -- like a banana -- right before you workout, and then eating a full breakfast afterward. Does this make sense? I'm clueless, really. I just eat what I like because I'm too lazy to actually figure out and plan to eat whatever is the best fuel for what I'm doing. ;-)
 
Hello Hatesville.

Catching up on all my emails and activity. There was someone that asked me what I was doing on Yahoo.com and knew my last name. Of course, I can't remember the person's last name so I told "Jeff" I'm there for the same reason he is.

Just finished off a big thing of whole wheat turkey spaghetti and found out I'm not going to Detroit this weekend so I can get my new lawn blade and gift card.

Nice to hear from everyone. 3 more days!!
