Cathlete
Morning! 'http://tools.digeratimarketing.co.uk/content/lb/smile/cool/cool0018.gif

Would anyone care to guess what I have gurgling near my front door?

Anyone? Anyone? http://tools.digeratimarketing.co.uk/content/lb/smile/party/party0042.gif

YES! Pumpkin and Pinto Bean Stew! Well, actually, it's Pumpkin and Pinto Bean and Black Bean Stew, since it turned out I didn't buy enough Pintos. I hope this isn't any cause for alarm LOL.

Yesterday Mom brought her monsters over and left them to run amok with my monsters while I was at work....but then it turned out I got home way past midnight, so they ended up spending the night here. And of course that meant for a 5:30am wakeup call a la Lulu Queen of Hyperactivity.

Then I went back to sleep from around 8:30am and was woken by a call at 10am.

Why is that a recipe for headache? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/sick001.gif

So I headached my way through the upper body premix of Muscle Max today and now all the monsters are fast asleep and I don't want to do move from my dining table for fear of waking them up LOL.

I am so excited for dinner tonight. Ooh boy! I better cut up my green chilies in advance!

JENNIFER -

>I received Cardio Kicks & Circuit Max instead of what I requested, CTX. So, I sent it all back on my lunch hour and emailed asking for Hardcore Extreme and Core Max instead.

LMAO! Wha, WHAT?! I'm with Dana...so what are you getting now? Those are in addition to the CTX?

>Yes, to clear up any questions. CTX has been cancelled all together.

Ahh, I see! Good move. http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/7.gif

Hugs back to you, Seville and Madrid!

MICHELE - I took a look at the thread...and my initial response was : Who is Jennifer/Jim? It's unfortunate that the poster didn't write a bit more of an explanation at the beginning.

If I had just happened across that thread and read it, I would have gotten the impression that the post is addressed to people who know the poster and Jennifer/Jim, and would have thought, "oh, this is for someone I don't know" and then went away without reading further down. I'm guessing that's why there are so many hits but not many responses.

I do hope they get lots of get-well wishes.

Wow, I actually wrote something without a LOL or something. I don't mean for anything to sound too serious. LOL. ;)

>I'm SO GLAD to know that you put your clothes on before boarding the train!

I did not, however, put any makeup on whatsoever. LOL.

>Remember me saying I wrenched my back/hip somehow? Well, it's not getting any better.

Oh man, that's just awful! You weren't playing Wii again, were you? LOL. I hope it will get better and that you won't have to go see someone about it. Urgh!

>Maybe we should start a home for aging Catheites

LMAO. What on earth are you and Robin talking about?!

SHANNON -

>Could you maybe turn the DVD case into a tray for the bird feed?

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/angry051.gif

Actually, you know, if that would make the dang birds come and eat off my balcony, I would LOL.

>Just chunk the DVD into the trash.

I remember in college, or was it high school? When my friend bought Andy Ridgley's first (and probably only) solo album after Wham! broke up. He put it in his car stereo and we went driving down the road. The album was so awful that midway my friend popped it out of the stereo and without a word, threw it out the window.

It was just about the funniest thing EVER for we giddy students and we cried ourselves laughing.

Of course we would never do that now, as that is obviously potentially a very dangerous thing to do on the road, not to mention incredibly immature.

We lived in the countryside. There was nobody and no cars around. http://tools.digeratimarketing.co.uk/content/lb/smile/ashamed/ashamed0003.gif

I hope you enjoyed your rain day!

I'm so excited about my Pumpkin and Pinto/Black bean stew! Oh boy! 4 more hours!

DANA -

>You like working under pressure though, right?

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/angry051.gif Um, no.

>There's an UB one too, right?

Yup. I do remember why I didn't like that one though, and it wasn't due to the growling. It was due to the herky jerky actions. I remember something about putting your back on the Fitness Ball and then REALLY, REALLY quickly doing batting motions. Well anyway, that PLUS growling LOL.

>Last night I walked about 4.5 miles. I was on a role – but by the time I was done I had some major wind burn on my legs.

LOL. And YAY for you! That's great!

ROBIN - Oooh, I'm so envious of people who can order clothing online! Lucky girl! That's great that the hiking pants fit so well. Wow, online pants that fit well - amazing. Hope the shirts will go as well.

>The white cream filled chocolate frosted one turned out to be bavarian cream filled and awful! I ended up throwing it away.

LOL. I am truly sorry for that awful happening.

>Our boys do, but neither of them roam off the property. They find plenty of mice and voles in the weeds around the edge of the lot.

Oh, how fun. Your guys must love that. I wish I could let my guys do that. When Mooch happens to find a tiny fruit fly in the apartment he just goes nuts and follows it everywhere, his cute magnet head bobbing each direction the bug goes.

>I have a sleeping baby on my lap. I can't move till DH gets home. I really need a tissue too.

LMAO! We won't tell anyone if you use his pant leg.

>I would love to be your roomie at the Cathe Manor. You don't snore, do you?

LOL. You two nuts.

JEN - Hey you! It's good to see you here. And it's good to hear that you're asking for the private time you need and that Chad is cool with it. I hope your brain has a fabulous NOTHING weekend!

I hope mine does, too! http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/5.gif

All right, see you later! :D

BBL!

Hello Haters.
TGIF!!!

I just checked my tracking code, UPS is delivering the package to SNM videos as we speak. Since email was the recommended choice, I do hope to hear from them today.

Not much else happening. Seville and Madrid are good, the weather is getting warmer, and work is fine.

Have a Fun Friday!!

Happy Friday, Haters!

Augie - I'm so glad you like the stew!!!

I'll bbl to check up on the rest of you.

Good morning http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/mornincoffee.gif

I woke up this morning with INSANELY curly hair! Then I figured it out -- I slept with the window cracked open -- it rained and the humidity does wild things to my hair http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/afro.gif

My back/butt/hip are so sore today. It always hurts most in the morning so I'm expecting it to get better here pretty soon. I think I'm going to put a heating pad on my behind -- if I can find one big enough

I have no idea what we're doing this weekend. DH wants to relax so we probably won't do too much -- maybe visit my brother for a bit. We haven't seen him in several weeks and I worry that he's lonely.

Augie -- How's your headache? I often get migraines when I'm sleep deprived. Maybe that's why your mom keeps bringing the kitties to your place -- they're keeping her up at night? Drink lots of coffee -- coffee always helps my headaches http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/lotsocoffee.gif

Ooh, I'm anxious to try that pumpkin pinto stew but I can't get pumpkin right now so I'll have to wait until fall x( . I haven't seen butternut squash either. How was it with the black beans? Oh I see -- IT WAS SO FREAKIN GOOOOOOD!!!!!!!! Wah -- I want some!

I had diner out last night at our favorite restaurant. They had a new chicken dish on the menu and it was to.die.for! OMG I almost feel like going back there tonight and ordering it for take out. Maybe I will! DH won't be home for dinner tonight so I can do whatever I want http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/eatdrink053.gif

Jennifer -- Isn't it fun to track packages? I do it incessantly. Well I hope you like the replacements. What are you up to this weekend?

Cuz -- I just saw on the news where there's terrible flooding in Arkansas. How is it at your place? Is everyone safe? We have flood warnings here, and I've got a lot of standing water in my backyard, but nothing too serious yet. What do you have planned for the weekend?

Jen -- There you are! We've been missing you. I'm glad that you and Chad were able to talk and that he's more understanding when you need your space. Have fun at the retirement dinner!

Robin Ha! The Cathe Manor -- I love it!! I don't know if I snore or not -- I never sleep because I'm too busy listening to my DH snore x( . Maybe we should go for adjoining rooms instead of being actual roommates :p

I've never ordered anything from Sierra Trading Post but I've perused their website several times. Maybe I'll take a look at what they have. I know this much -- when I go back to Italy this fall I want to take a suitcase full of simple, yet elegant clothes. The Europeans always looks so snazzy. I've got my fingers crossed that STS will ship in time for me to do the whole program, before I leave :D

Dana -- What's happenin!? How's the weather today -- still windy? It's absolutely yucky outside -- very grey and dismal. I hope you can get a workout in this weekend.

I'm off to peruse the forums. I'll BBL to see if anyone is around :*

Hi Everyone...

I posted for a short time a few months ago and then I got overwhelmed, posting in two different places and just sort of snuck away.....
but I do read the posts here quite often.

Michele, I have read how much you like your workouts from Classical Stretch! I tried it off of PBS because of your posts and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them too !!!!
I really want to buy at least one workout....(ha, yeah, one....;-) ) but am wondering what you recommend?
I do deal with back pain (actually, it's hip/lowerback and butt, just like what you are describing) and think that one for me is probably a MUST, but what else?

I just LOVE the way I feel after doing the classical stretch!
Today I did CC#2 and a CS and what could be better ?????????
:p :7 :7

August, your recipe sounds fantastic !!! Have you posted it yet ?
I probably missed it but would love to make it. mmmmmmm
I wonder if canned pumpkin would work , because we can't even find pumpkins around here at this time of year.:-(

Hi to everyone else !
Hope you're having a terrific FRIDAY!!!!:7 :7

Becky

Becky!!!

Hello stranger! It's so nice to "see" you again!

I LOVE Classical Stretch. I really don't know how I lived without it for so long, but I probably do more Classical Stretch workouts than anything else -- they make me feel so good, and I've seen a lot of improvement in my core -- in terms of both strength and leanness!

So here's what I have:
1. The 2007 TV series on DVD - I probably use this one more than any other. I love that the segments are less than 30 minutes long, easy to tack on to another workout, and provide TONS of variety.

2. Back Pain Relief, Volume 1 -- I've only done this one twice but it was good. Honestly -- I think all of this stuff is covered in the TV series, but this is a longer workout and very thorough. It really focuses on the back, hips, hamstrings, etc. This DVD also includes a workout called Stress Relief which I haven't tried yet.

3. Full Body Workout and Athletes Intense Stretch -- A very generous Catheite gave me this one and I love it, too! I haven't tried the Athletes stretch yet, but the full body workout is great. It's about 50 minutes long and the time flies by. Some of it was pretty difficult, too, and there were parts I couldn't finish.

4. Essentrics - I just got this one last week so I haven't had a chance to even preview all of it. It has four 30 minute workouts -- 2 for upper body and abs, and 2 for lower body and abs. I did one of the upper body workouts and it was killer! My arms were screaming. Who'd'a thought you could get such a great workout without weights!?

HTH and just let me know if you have any more questions. :)

Thank you Michele for getting back to me so quickly with such great information !

I guess the only other thing is ....where did you get yours?
I haven't really started looking yet, but hope maybe DDD, or ebay or someone has them at a discount .
With buying STS, I think it's going to take some tricky talking to convince DH that I need anything else fitness any time soon !!!
Actually in all honesty, I'm lucky and he rarely says anything about what I spend on fitness stuff, but I know this last purchase was a big one and I don't want to push it !;-)

Thanks for sharing so much about the CS workouts. I will let you know what I get when I get them!

Nice to "see" you again too !
I hope your back feels better soon.
Backpain STINKS!!;(

Becky

Hi haters!

Hi Becky!!!! Nice to see you back again.

Michele - hello sunshine! I had sciatica (probably spelled that wrong) when I was pregnant and OMG was that a pain!!! I hope that you feel better soon! So what was in your chicken dish last night? I made crabcakes out of the newest issue of cooking light and they were pretty good. Hey did you get your weighted vest yet? If so, how do you like it?

August - ah ha, you're mom is pretty tricky! Her kitties are keeping her up at night with their wild ways so she shipped them over to your place. Got to give her credit though . . .

Jen - I'm glad you're getting some quiet time to yourself. Enjoy your weekend and try to relax!

Jennifer - thanks for clearing that up about your order. LOL. Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend?

Robin - how did you manage to get clothes online that fit you? You're lucky!!!

Hi Shannon!

It is yucky and raining here today. Was going to go and get Ralphie food at the pet supply store but he has enough for the weekend so I'm gonna wait. I switched his food b/c I was spending $61/bag and it only was lasting about 3 weeks. I tried another brand (which is also a high quality food, which was $43/bag) and at first I thought he liked it but now he just picks at it. So .. . . .I'm wondering if I need to go back to the more expensive food. And the new food looks better then the old food. This is "Merrick Turdunken) and it has dried corn, carrots, peas & blueberries in it. Yum!!! His old food was Wild Salmon. And ya know what he does and this drives me nuts . . . he will put his food in his mouth, carry it on into the living room carpet, drop it on the carpet and then eat it. What is up with that weirdness?

Lunch is up so I better get going. Have a great weekend!

>ebay or someone has them at a discount .

I got most of mine from eBay. The seller was soundcitybeaches from Canada and the prices were great. I used the "buy it now" option and paid about $11 for mine, but if you want to bid, I think the bidding usually starts at around $9. soundcitybeaches appears to be a great seller -- very reliable and fast shipping. I haven't had any problems at all. I think I paid around $8 for shipping -- $14 for 2 DVD's.

Hi Dana!!

Oh wow, I can't imagine having to deal with sciatica during pregnancy -- UGH! I really don't think I have that, though. I think I just have generic low back pain. My pain doesn't go down my leg at all, which would be consistent with sciatica. I probably have a little herniated disc -- meaning not a serious condition -- just irritating. I really think this will resolve on it's own with some good back, leg, and groin stretching and core strengthening exercises, like Classical Stretch :D

Oh yes, my weighted vest came last week and I LOVE it! It's really nice and comfy, and I'm probably going to order the inner vest next month. The inner vest allows you to tack on an extra 20 pounds for a total of 40#'s.

The chicken dish contained tomatoes and onions, and was seasoned with saffron and fennel seeds. It was really delicious. It must've been steamed or braised -- it wasn't browned at all -- but it was very tender and juicy. It was served with a side of Yukon gold roasted potatoes and spinach. :9

My DH loves crabcakes -- I hate 'em :p

he will put his food in his mouth, carry it on into the living room carpet, drop it on the carpet and then eat it. What is up with that weirdness?

Hehehehe...my sister's dog always did that, God rest her sweet soul. She would fling it up in the air and bat it around for awhile, then eat it. It was so cute! :+

Hi haters. I have a couple free minutes here at work and thought I'd try to catch up with you.

Dana, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said I was lucky with the pants. I can go to the mall and try on at least a dozen pairs of pants before I find one pair that fit. Sierra Trading Post has reviews and I just looked for pants where the reviewer said they fit true to size.

Shannon, I'm glad to see you survived the storms.

Michele, I think I like the idea of seperate bathrooms and maybe a shared sitting room in the Cathe Manor. That way we can go our seperate ways if neccessary.

Becky, happy to see you here again.

August, you don't mention having to work this weekend. Will you be home? With the fly chasing squirrels? And your sleep deprived mom? Hmmm, maybe you may want to rethink not going out of town this weekend.

So, I put on my thinking cap last night and pondered this nasty rash I've had on my back since last weekend. Then it dawned on me - shingles! I checked out WebMD and it sounded right. I ran into a doctor/friend at break this morning and he looked at it and said, "Yup, shingles." He also set me up with another doctor, since mine is out of town this week. I go see him after work. I'm relieved to know what the rash is, but very uncomfortable. I hope the doctor can give me something to help hurry up the recovery. Someone said they treat it with herpes medicine. So that will clear up any other problem. Kidding! Kidding!

Robin,

Yes, yes, our own bathrooms are a MUST! I like the idea of a shared sitting room -- that way, when we start to get on each other's nerves, we can go our separate ways :p :7

Shingles! On noooooooooo. That's terrible!

Someone said they treat it with herpes medicine. So that will clear up any other problem.

ROTFLMAO!!

I don't remember the standard treatment for shingles, but I do know it can be very painful ;( . I hope you get rid of it quickly :*

Yes, it is very uncomfortable. The docotor gave me Valtrex, an anti-viral used to treat shingles and genital herpes. The package insert tells me to use it in combination with safe sex practices. LOL. He also gave me a painkiller for night. I'm getting a nice little selection of painkillers. Re-LOL.

THANK you again Michele. I'll check out ebay and that seller. It sounds like a good price .:D
Oh , and the back pain I described.....I went to an orthopedic dr. and he said I have a herniated disc, so I think you are right on the money! If it acts up again, I'm going to have an MRI. But it's been pretty good lately....knock on wood!

OMG Robin. I feel sorry for you !
Several years ago we went on vacation to the beach with my mom & dad. My mom got shingles and ended up in the ER !
She was in a lot of pain . Ugh.
They just gave her pain med though, and not Valtrex, so I hope that helps clear it up FAST!
My daughter who is 16 gets KILLER and I do mean MONSTEROUS cold sores and the dr. said he wants her to go on Valtrex !!
Guess it works for all kinds of things, huh ??

Take care everyone.....and have a great weekend !

Becky
