Harris Benedict Equation

Ok, so i just calculated my caloric needs for fat loss based on the Harris Benedict Equation that was provided with the nutrition program that came with Insanity. Based on this calculation to lose weight with moderate activity I should be eating 1993 cals per day and if i'm very active 2234. This seems extremely high to me. I have been trying to keep my cals at or below 1500 a day. I have not been losing on 1500 cals per day and i'm wondering if its possible that i'm not eating enough? I just can't fathom eating almost 2000cals per day and losing weight. Anyone have any reasoning behind this?

Is that the weight maintenance?
Is that the number you reached before or after step 3?
2400 calories are maintenance for a 150lb woman following insanity(using very active equation).

that was after i subtracted 500 cals for weight loss. mabe i did it wrong. i'm 5'3 and weigh 122lbs and i'm 27 if you could double check for me.

I came up with
2304 maintenance (Very Active)
2100 maintenance(moderately active)

So, 1500 is close to where you need to be if you want to lose one lb a week.
Looking at your stats, you are already very lean so you will have to eat super clean to get your body fat to budge. Eat lots and lots of veggies!!!

Good luck! I know the last few pounds make a huge difference in how cut we look. Unfortunately they are the hardest to get rid of.
