Morning Maniacs-

This morning I did Barry's Bootcamp Fat Burner - Lower Body Focus followed by Mission Upper Body Advanced, Mission Abs Advanced and part of the Code Red workout. Workout was 70" and I burned 494 calories.

I enjoyed this workout a bit more today. I used my heavier resistance band for a few exercises. I would be more thrilled with it if I hadn't paid such a steep price for it.

Now I really look forward to the end of the week....not only cuz the weekend is coming, but I look forward to my Kettlebell workout on Friday! Kettlebell's remind me of playing........only you're playing with a big heavy hunk of lead with a handle and kicking butt!

Toasty - are you still getting Kettlebell's?

I was planning on starting to run again tomorrow....but our basement flooded last night! Darn!

Have great workouts everyone.

Wow, we got hit with a HUGE ice storm last night. I'm kind of worried about driving into work. I can't see out my windows because they are a sheet of ice. I doubt I'll be able to get my car door open. Yeesh!!!

Today was full body, 2 sets/8 reps. Had a pretty good workout but again, I never feel like I do enough with only 2 sets.

1 minute rest between each set superset

BACK/CHEST
Close Grip Pullups: 11/8 (up from 10/7)
superset w/
Incline Bench Press:
100# - 8/8 (up 5#)
***This was a tough superset. The pullups about killed me today, not sure why.

HAMSTRINGS/SHOULDERS
Elevated SLDL's:
90# - 8/8 (up 5#)
superset w/
Upright Rows:
65# - 6
60# - 8
***Had to use an EZ bar for this exercise because I used my straight bar for the SLDL's. The grip made it hard for me to pull up the 65# so I quit at 6 reps.

TRICEPS/CALVES
Lying Dumbbell Extensions:
27's - 8/8 (up 2#)
superset w/
Barbell Calf Raises:
140# - 10/10/10 (turning toes in, out and straight) (up 5#)
***I liked this superset. Triceps felt really strong this morning. Calves got a great burn.

That is all....

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Debbie,

Well we had alot of rain and wind here last night. Surprised Debbie that you got ice. Let us know if you got to work o.k. Nice workout, girl!

Lora,

I don't know just yet or when. Spending too much so far. Still need to buy trees for the yard soon.

Today I am gonna do X Shoulders/Arms/Abs and get on elliptical some...afterall, I ate cake last night.

I did get to work ok. Took 20 minutes instead of 7 minutes. Roads weren't horrible, but quite slick in spots. The worse part was cleaing my truck off. The ice was horrible!

Morning Maniacs,

Today was full body with 3 sets of eight and a 60 second rest.

Back
Close Grip Pullups
8/8/8 (this was 3 unassisted, 2 unassisted & 1 unassisted, really disappointed after the success with chins last week)

Chest
Incline Barbell Press
8/8/7 - 85#

Hamstrings
SLDL's
8/8/8 - 100#

Biceps
Concentration Curls
8/8/8 - 25's (really worked the negative on these)

Quads
Leg Extensions
8 - 75#
8 - 72 1/2#
8 - 70# (started up 5#, but on quads that are still very sore it just wasn't happening, I've only done 70# once before jumping from 50#, quads were screaming)

Shoulders
Upright Rows
8/8/8 - 55#

Then did GS Calf work and core work consisting of Swiss Ball Lat Roll, Arm Pump, Dumbbell Arm Bar and Swiss Ball Forward Roll.

Debbie - Nice workout! I know what you mean about doing only the two sets. We only got wind and rain here too like Char. Hope you get to work okay!

Have a great day!

Linda

Did intervals for 40 min today. Wasn't up to it really as my stomach is still slightly off.

This weather's driving me nuts....It's sunny for 30 seconds then rain for a minute or two then sunny again for a short period of time. Sure is windy though.... Think there's a witch with sparkly red slippers stuck under a house somewhere? (bad joke I know but laugh at it anyway :p)

Lora- I feel the same way about KB on weekends. I always look forward to saturday or sunday because of KB. Just love the burn it gives me and my clothes are completely drenched by the end of the workout. How long are the AOS dvds?

Char- I'm happy to hear you had a good time yesterday :D }( Time to get your butt back to your hardcore routine. :+

Deb- Glad to hear you made it to work ok.

Question for you guys.... What exercise do you look forward to the most? Mine is frontal barbell squat and deadlifts. I feel like a He-Man or He-Woman after I finish these. Deadlifts are one of my fav. moves.

Have a great day!

Lisa

Lisa,

I am going down to basement now as soon as my fingers stop typing! hehe. Elliptical first as warm up and then shoulders/arms/abs. Hopefully, we I get done, there will be more goodies in the mailbox. lol

Lisa,

What is up with your tum tum? If you find any red slippers..they are probably mine. I have a pair of mary jane ones. LMAO!

Linda,

Where are you located? South?

Linda - I didn't do too well with my pullups either. And close grip pullups (over hand) are always more difficult to do then chins. Chins are the easiest so you are doing well! Nice on the concentration curls. Do those hurt your wrists?

Lisa - It's hard for me to choose a favorite exercise. I have one for just about each body part except for legs!

Finished cardio. Just did steady state on elliptical...

34 mins.
2.8 mi.
272 cals

Gonna do abs here next..eat lunch and then shoulders/arms

Char - I am in New Jersey and the south part at that. I am only about an hour outside Atlantic City.

Debbie - Thanks for the pep talk on the pull up! No, my wrist did fine with the concentration curls. I probably could have pushed and went up a couple of pounds, but instead I decide to fight the negative. Got a good burn going doing that. I am also happy to say that my wrists didn't bother me much on the upright rows either, they usually kill me with a barbell. But there I think I went a little lighter and I brought the bar all the way up to shoulder level.

Linda

Todays workout was Amy Bentos Step Challenge 2. I don't know if I will ever get that last segment down, but I keep trying. Lots of spins and turns in it. When I got back from taking the grandchildren to school I did Butts and Guts abs both segments adding resistance. I used 65# barbell and did rollouts instead of using the ball. I finished with Rainbeau Mars Dawn yoga 10 min bonus segment and 25 minutes of Slim Series Cool it Off.

Where is Randi??

Lora, sorry you have water in your basement.

Linda,

Sounds like you could have too much fun living where you do. lol. You like it there then?

Debbie,

I am almost on my 9th week of P90X and then I am gonna need to get a rotation from you like old times when I am done. When I go into my 9th-11th week, I will substitute the cardio for bike rides. I love being outside too much on nice days.

Char - I guess I like living here. It's the only place I've ever lived so I don't know anything else. I now live only 3 miles from where I grew up and my parents are still there. So I have nothing to compare it to. The main problem as I see it, is that our government is so messed up and our taxes so ridiculous.

Linda

Char - for some reason I thought you quit doing P90X about a week ago. I must have misread the post.

Finished arm/shoulder workout. Since last year, I have lost some strength in my shoulders, but biceps not. Curled with 45's 2 sets 6 during the supination curls. Feel good about this. Went with 20's for static curls and completed to the end. Probably could have easily done these with 25# db's, and should have. Next time. I substitued tri work for lying tricep ext and did some parellel dips off tree bar. Tricep strength has increased some.
