Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Tues July 10

Diane Sue - he didn't even go there with excercise!! When I saw him with my stress fracture - he knew how I felt about missing my exercise. He didn't even tell me to back off running. I don't know if he would suggest it to a normal patient...but he remembers that I did cardio on my rebounder the entire time I had the stress fracture and the first thing that came out of my mouth when I first met him (cuz I didn't know if he was a conservative doctor or not) .....when he mentioned I had bunions, I said, I"M NOT HAVING SURGERY...cuz I won't take time off working out. He wasn't even going to push orthotics cuz I had a fit when he told me I'd eventually need orthotics for my bunions. This crap makes me feel old and I'm already still having this mid-life crisis. Do you think it would help to add in some more low impact?? He said the shots might help and I'll never have problems again, or they may not help at all. He said everyone is different. I'm actually getting a precert on my insurance....not sure if they'll pay...but I'll do that before I buy anything else. I can't believe I have it in both feet! My right foot is not as bad as my left foot....but it still hurts.

Hey Maniacs! Taking a short break here from my busy day.:)

Suz- Seems like hammers are always after traditional curls in workouts. Harder to go heavy after you fried your biceps doing another exercise. Try hammers first and see how heavy you can go.}( I'm kinda whimpy with biceps myself.

Lora- I agree. Setting up and looking up new exercises, and trying to figure out modifications can be annoying and take some time. But, it is really fun learning new exercises once you figure out how to do them, isn't it?

Diane Sue- Great workout! I'm thinking of doing the Gym Styles next rotation. Curious, do you take longer rests than Cathe does?

Back to work...

Dallys - my DH made a comment to me "I'm glad my workouts aren't so complicated" and I said, "well I've never been this sore for a long time either....cuz I'm doing all sorts of different stuff" and that has to be a good thing.

Gah....I'm a real thread hog today.

Lora, I definitely think if you lower some of the impact of your cardio that it will help. I hope the medicine works.

Dallys, it really depends on the workout I am doing. Sometimes if there is very little rest between sets and I am going a lot heavier I will pause it for a few seconds longer.

Diane Sue - Thanks for the advice. I've pulled out some Gliding and I'll use the bike and elliptical as well. Can you think of any really intense lower impacts other than the obvious Low Max? Also, meant to mention that eliminating fruit from my diet would be a bit extreme for me.....especially since I just quit my daily caramel cream habit a few weeks ago. I've only relapsed twice too!! I have so many bad habits...don't I?? You're so disciplined all of the time!

Dallys- I just ordered the new Chris Cornell. Have you heard any of it yet? They play 3 songs on the Digital TV Rock station (Listen to it alot when I'm on the computer). I also just got the new Incubus with Dig on it and the new Velvet Revolver. I'm all excited cuz since I've been doing circuits, I needed more music (another downside of the circuits -- extra expense!!..LOL) Chris Cornell's latest is very different.....it's a bit mellow but I like the songs I've heard. Don't worry....between me liking Dig by Incubus and new mellow Chris Cornell.....I'm not really mellowing out in my old age just cuz I have heel spurs and plantar fasciitis!!

Wow - this Ambiance Fitness System I got is great. It shows tons of ways to use the bands with the door attachment and feet, ankle, and wrist attachments that came with it. You can do everything from tricep pulldowns to kneeling ab crunches to calf work with the bands and attachments. I'm amazed at the material on this! I'll keep everyone updated. The only downside and it's because there is so much material on them) - is that you are shown how to set up and perform the exercise and then you have to pause the DVD and do your sets. The personal training programs start out with total body circuits and then you do upper and lower body for the next 30 days and then it goes into 3 day splits.....but that's as far as I've gotten. He was kind enough to send me the gym versions using machines too...but i've not yet previewed those.

Lora - I don't know if you've mentioned using your rebounder again since you're going to try some lower impact???

Diane Sue - How's your cleaner eating going this week? Can you tell me again what kinds of things you put in your salads? I remember you mentioned it once. I'll print it off this time. :) That salad recipe in the current Muscle & Fitness Hers with the strawberries looks yummy!

Dallys - DH & I got home late tonight (he was working a drug bust so I worked late too since he had already come home for a bit and let the dogs run around outside) so we're just now watching the Tour. So don't tell me! :p Anyway, how much would you hate to be Eric Zabel today? Knowing that all those guys have injuries because you clipped out of your pedal. Gosh, that would suck. That would be something I'd do! I can't believe Discovery lost a guy already. Dang it!

There's NO WIND right now! Hopefully it will stay that way as I'm supposed to ride with girls in the morning.

Nighty night.

Suz
