Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Checkin for Wed., Oct. 10th

Where is everyone???

Woke up NOT wanting to do cardio but once I got started it felt great. And I feel great now! I decided to do Cardio Coach #3 and then the first challenge intervals of the Press Play workout. Love that challenge!

My HRM was dead on today so I was happy about that. Hopefully it will be ok from now on.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Yes, weather is much better now here too.

I didn't workout yesterday except for abs in the morning. I suck. lol. I will work chest/back today. I HAD to clean yesterday. My drooling dog had the floors looking like someone spit all over them. lol.

Tomorrow I plan on hiking ALONE.
 
Morning Maniacs -

I did day 2 of the M&F Hers Time To Burn Fat Rotation.

Warm Up - Walk or Bike 3 min - I jogged on the Rebounder
Walking Lunges - 30 steps - used dumbbells

Circuit A - Repeat 3 times -- but I did 4 times
Jump Rope - 30 seconds - I did high jumps on the Rebounder
Push Up into DB Row 10 per side
Medicine Ball Jump Squats - 30 seconds
Biceps - Supinated DB Curls - 10 reps
Triceps Rope Pressdown - 10 reps - used my blue band and door attachmt
Back Extensions - 10 reps - did these on the Stability Ball
Plank - hold 30 seconds - used my stability ball and put 5 pounds on my back
Exercise Ball Pull In's - 10 reps
(I added another set of walking lunges at the end of these circuits)

Circuit B
Sprinting on Treadmill or Track - 30 seconds sprint- 30 seconds rest and repeat 12 times - I did fast running, football drills on the Rebounder with high knee runs and did not rest between sets. I did 12 sets
Walk or Jog - 10 minutes - I got bored here, so I broke out my Gliding Discs and Glided freestyle for 10 minutes and it was fun.
Cool Down - walk - 5 min

Workout was 67" long and I burned 502 calories. Not sure how accurate that count is cuz my HRM resting heart rate is not really set as low as it should be. I forgot to do it and was up and moving around for a while when I set it. This was fun. The Gliding part made it have good variety and I went thru the circuit 4 times instead of 3 cuz I had it in me. I also added an additional set of walking lunges.

I then did 2 stretch segments from Perfect in 10 Stretch and Namaste Yoga - Revolved Triangle session 23".

Bionics,

No one around here would be able to keep up with me so alone I will go. Son in school. Daugter at work or somewhere else..doesn't even sleep at home much anymore these days. DH at the slave factory..things not going well for him and looking for new job. My workout buddy likes to workout with me once every 2 months...sooo... Anyhow, some escaping is nice too. I will have police strength mace with me, my savage nails, and um...my killer attitude. :p ;-) }( :+ :7
 
Good Morning, today I did Seasun's Bosu Blast stopping at the abs, then Amy Bento's Hi/Lo Extreme quick nrg premix omitting the w/up. I went back and did Bosu Blast abs adding weight to the crunches etc., I am going back to do Eoin Finn's Power Yoga magically hips. I have house work to catch up and and eye appointment before I get my grandchildren.

Penney, Happy Birthday. Do you think you will get to wear the new coat soon:)

Lora, it sounds like you got in a great workout. I keep thinking I want to do that rotation. It has just been hard to fit it into my schedule of running out the door in the mornings every other week.

Debbie, great workout. I wake up most mornings not wanting to do cardio but once I get going I don't want to stop LOL

Good morning everyone! Here's the leg workout this morning

I really pushed myself on this one today. I should feel this in my glutes in a day or two!

I pooped out on this one early. I must still not be 100% from that flu I had last week :eek:

[font color=indigo]Laydown Leg Curls: [/font]15x55, 2x12x55
Here's another one that I pooped out on some. This is a different machine than the one I used earlier; it curls below the knees instead of parallel with it, so you have to work harder. It really hits your hams! :eek: I tried a couple of reps torso up. Holy cow, I could do just a few reps that way!

It actually felt like fall this morning! :D I hope it stays that way for a while.

I have to work today, yuck! ;) We do get a floating day for our bdays, but I already burned mine ;)

I just finished L&G this morning last night ended up doing Imax 2.
Lora thank you about Pookie. I think my other guinea pig Dookie is getting upset, should I get another one? I'm afraid she will stop eating and drinking.

[font color=indigo]Randi[/font] - I know I promised a rotation. With everything going on in my life right now that is the last thing I'm thinking of. Plus I'm running out of ideas and now with the new workouts coming out, I'm not sure I'll be able to do them anymore since I'm only getting the weight training workouts. I will try to come up with a leg blast one like you asked for soon.
 
Good morning!

This morning I did Bootcamp. I wanted some cardio and weights. Last day of weights since I leave at 3:45am tomorrow! Ick! I'll be doing LOTS of cardio since my dad has a treadmill that only gets used when I'm there. He bought it for his wife but she never used it. He also lives up on a big hill and it's KILLER to run on. I think it's called Bell Hill or something like that. The first day I run outside and then I can't usually walk for the rest of my time there. So now I'm smarter and I take my MP3 and CC. I'll also do pushups, abs, dips and will take a band for other weight type work.

Randi - I would say yes on a friend for Dookie. I always think that animals should have friends. Otherwise I would think they would get terribly bored all day long by themselves. If they could choose for themselves I don't think they'd choose to be alone. :)

Penney - Happy Birthday - again! :) I'm so confused. So today is your birthay and not yesterday. Sorry!

You all have had GREAT workouts today. I must get back to work. So much to do...so little time.

Randi - Ah....poor little Dookie. That's cute. Pookie and Dookie. I'd get another one.......they always need a companion.

If anyone is interested in another book circuit workout.........I just got Cindy Whitmarsh's Ultrafit - Challenging Workouts Amazing Results. I was reading it at my sinus doc appt this afternoon. It looks amazing. It has 3 total workout plans, stages 1-3. I was looking at stage 3. It looks tough. She even has cardio workouts mapped out, on the bike, stairs, Extreme Jump rope, Sprint intervals, etc. The weeks are all mapped out and each week has 4 weighted circuits - day 1 chest, back, legs and core training and day 2 is shoulders, biceps, triceps and core. She also adds in cardio intervals and plyometrics, as well as a stretch workout. Then it goes into water consumption for the day and nutritional information. Looks very good and challenging. I'll probably be doing this in the future. The book is relatively inexpensive on Amazon Marketplace.

I got placed on prednisone from the sinus doctor. Was in for my 3 month check and haven't been able to smell for the past week. He still tells me I need surgery.........and now he's making me return in 1 month! Polyps suck.

Happy Birthday Penney!!!

So we had fire prevention today at my son't school. We took the firetrucks up and had a contest for the kids of who could put their gear on the fasstest. There were 5 of us and I came in second, by a second literallY!! Then we went outside and sprayed some water and foam. Well, I was on the hose and the guys on the truck opened up the deck gun (the hose on top of the truck) and soaked us! It was great!
So no work today, so planning on KPC later this evenning.

Dallys- I'm very hesitant about Alwyn's & Balantyne's type of training cuz of my injury and my need to modify.......mostly the military presses and pushups. I'm afraid I'm not going to be working out hard enough. I'll get around to it some day though and the HIIT work scares me in his book.....although, Cindy's comes darned close ......if not worse cuz she has stair climbing drills, etc.

Lora I too have to modify things because of my tennis elbow. Luckily, I can do pushups and shoulder presses. Things that bother my elbow are some biceps moves (anything with palm down) and upright rows and sometimes lateral raises. That's why these TT and Alwyn type workouts are good for me right now. I'm guessing the stair climbing drills in that book you're talking about might not be great for my knees. It sucks doesn't it? I guess we just do what our bodies can handle and work from there.:)

Pullovers 45# db 3 sets/10
Lat Pulldowns 3 sets/8 with 70# (went down)
Chin Ups 5 (suck)
Bench 70# 3 sets/8
Pushups 20
Decline Flyes 35# dbs 3 sets/8


I think that is it. Anything else..I forget. Night night.
 
Hey everyone!

I'm still here. Still packing. We took our cycling fall photo. It's my avatar. :) I'm the only goofball standing sideways. I told them all I never face forward in photos - bad for the hips. So they all turned but then when I saw the pics they were all facing forward. Hehehe. DH took the pics but his camera is messed up - it's doing this thing called back focusing so it focuses on something in the background. He has to send it in. He's waaay bummed. I can't even tell.
