Gimme a "C"...CHEETAHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lederr

Cathlete
good morning, cheetahs.

i had TERRIBLE insomnia last night and, as a result, did not get nearly enough sleep. x( i have a run planned this morning and no motivation to do it right now.

grrrrrr!

i am going to go try to find some motivation.

RE: Gimme a

Good morning, Lorie, and all who follow! Love the thread title. :7

Am runnin' a bit late this AM, so I have to make this short n' sweet.

Lorie :: sorry 'bout the insomnia. Do you have it pretty much every night?

Wendy :: hope that 3rd dose kicks in quickly this AM...I don't have pics, but I could take some. Teeth are feeling a little tingly today, but that is supposed to be normal. What's NOT normal is starting my morning without TEA ~ *lol*

OK, gotta jet! Tonight is 4DS BC with bi's & tri's after my chiro adjustment.

Have a GREAT day, everyone! BBL tonight...

RE: Gimme a

Good morning ladies!

I’m sorry I was MIA yesterday. I had to fly out the door early to get too work and finish there so I could get that trail in with my neighbor. OMG was it spectacular!!!! What a perfect day…temps in the mid 70s, perfectly clear sky with just a hint of a breeze and the color on the trees was incredible! She took me on a 9 mile run (I didn’t know that off hand…sneaky!) that ended up becoming a 10 mile run, I think. The first 4.5 miles was all uphill and fairly steep in places…YEOWZA! I’m not used to that much of an elevation change for that long. We did stop twice, briefly, to wander out on one of the many rock ledges that extend out from the trail and gaze down at the Hudson Valley. I can’t even describe how small you feel when compared to the magnificence of that sight! I loved the next 4.3 miles…all downhill and so much fun as the trail gets a little rockier and you find yourself jumping down some of the small ledges. Here’s where it got interesting though. I let my neighbor run the last two tenths by herself as it was a bit too steep for me to run at this point. Hey, this cheetah knows her limits! I decided to power walk it and get a good booty burn going. Well, I missed the turn off to get back to the parking area…oops! So, the trail flattened out again and I start to run again for about .3 miles and realize I’m too far down the lake. I double back, thinking I know where I should have turned. I asked some hikers and yup, I was heading the right way. So I turn where I think I should have turned and keep pushing because I know Karen is waiting for me. I run about .2 miles and find a park worker and find out that I’m still heading in the wrong direction! So I turn around again and head back…argh! At this point Karen calls me and points me in the right direction and she meets me about .1 from home and runs the last bit with me. It turns out I kept turning right when I needed to make a left...DOH!

So, that’s how my 9 miler became 10.1 or so. Not exactly how I had planned to run my second 10. It was so much fun, though. I can’t believe that I’m actually okay this morning…no DOMS, nothing is talking to me besides one toe that got a little rubbed. I figured by the way I felt last night I wouldn’t be able to walk this morning LOL!

I figure I'll only go for one more run this week before Sunday's 7K race...probably an easy 4 miles on Thursday. Does that sound like a good plan?

It was going to be a rest day today (because of yesterday’s adventure and expecting a long workday), but since those same clients that were supposed to come today are going to come later in the week, I think I’ll be able to get 4DBC bis and tris in tonight…I can’t wait! At least they gave us a day’s notice this time…thank goodness for small miracles, eh?

Let me go catch up on all the chatter from yesterday…

RE: Gimme a

Good Morning Gals:)

Lorie, sorry to hear that you couldn't sleep! That sucks! I love my sleep but haven't been getting enough of it lately. When I think about having another baby, I think about the sleep I will lose. Not to mention having a toddler in the house won't help with napping! Just the same, hope you get enough energy for a run.

Cathy, enjoy your workout. How are you enjoying the new series? I didn't order them but I am getting the itch now. I think they will soon be purchased.

Wendi, I decided to join yesterday so I guess you missed that. Sounds like you had a great run yesterday! I love those temps to. I don't really enjoy summertime running, its to hot. I love the tan I get from running but I hate being over heated. We (meaning DS and I) would leave the house around 8ish to beat the heat.

Anyone ever have this situation? I use to run with a partner for the past 4 yrs but I took a yr off (as I stated yesterday) when I had DS, plus when I got back into running I was pushing a stroller. I ran with her once in the Spring and came to the conclusion that it was just to hard. I couldn't talk, run and push a stroller at the same time, I don't know how many stitches I got that day and had to stop. Then through out the summer, I would leave so early that she wouldn't even be out of bed and I was at my parents house alot so she never bothered calling me. But now she is calling me all the time. Don't you think she would have taken the hint over the past 2 seasons? I also go at my own time now....when really DS's nap time. She called last week, chatted for a while, never really came out and said what she wanted, and I told her I was going for a run later..she said "oh, your not ready now?" I said, " no, Rylan isn't ready for his nap and I have clothes in the dryer that needs to be folded before I go anywhere". Then one day I was actually out running, bumped into her and she turned around to come with me. Then last Thursday she was driving her car and seen me out running...there are numerous times she has seen me out when she knows I haven't called her to come along. I know she is only being nice but why doesn't she take the hint that I want to do this on my own now. Not to mention that I have gotten into listening to music now and I enjoy that more then talking.Yesterday she called twice! But we didn't cross pathes when I was out. I know no one as had the SAME situation but anything similar. I know I could come right out and tell her but she is the type to get offended. I will probably just keep avioding her cause she does work, plus I am returning back to work and the winter is comming! She won't call much longer.

Anyway...I do have a run planned for today but I have to go to baby group first. I think I will go to baby group dressed for my run and when he is ready for his nap I will come home and go for my run. Probably around 10:30 or 11. I still need to get a leg workout in. Instead of doing legs last night, I went to bed with DD at 9:30 and was asleep shortly after!

Have a good day girls!

Lori:)

RE: Gimme a

Okay, let me catch up on personals…

Cathy – I hope your back is feeling a bit better. I’m up in the air about the exchange right now. Finances are really tight for me right now but I so would like to join in. When do you need an answer by? I’ve always wondered about having my teeth done professionally, but I just can’t afford it. I hate those yucky strips but it’s all I can do for now. Unfortunately, I inherited naturally yellow teeth from both sides of the family.

Sunny – Wow, good for you for wanting to pursue your MS! How are your knees feeling today?

Lorie – I’m no expert but I think your plan sounds like a good one. You’ve been really pushing lately, girl! I’m glad I’m not the only lightweight *lol*. Two is usually enough for me…I don’t like the feeling of being slightly buzzed. I think it reminds me too much of the early stages of a migraine…nice association, huh? Sorry about the insomnia last night. I KNOW you’ll find the motivation this morning.

Lori – Welcome to Cheetahville! I was lurking a bit yesterday, just didn’t have time to post. Yeah, we are a chatty group here and I love it! I’m a bit of a newbie here too but can tell you that this is quite an incredible bunch of ladies! It sounds like you had a great run yesterday. The new series is great, BTW! I'm not sure how to deal with the "running buddy" situation. Yesterday was the first time I've EVER gone out with someone else.

Wendy – I hope you’re feeling a bit better this morning…those were some serious DOMS! So cute that DS wanted to play with our mascot…a Cheetah in training, perhaps? Dear, I’m sure you don’t look “horrid” in those pics…cut yourself some slack, will ya?

Carole – Soooooo, did UPS pay you a visit yesterday????

Judy – How is your hip this morning? I’m sorry it’s still arguing with you. I would *love* to take a hot bath after my runs…that sounds so nice!

Christine – Oooh, sorry about the heartburn yesterday…yikes! Your plan for the coming weeks sounds like a good one. Have fun with it and the new videos! I was watching the news coverage of the fires last night…SO SCARY.

Susan – IA, I took LIS to an 8” step and it was a nice little workout. I usually dread shoulder work but that just flew by. I can’t wait to try the core work when I can.

Shelly – You are an animal!!!!!! I mean that in the most loving way. First that insane race, then the after race “festivities” WOW! Then the next day HIS, LIS, and KB cardio…holy moly girl! When I grow up I want to be just like you…I *think*.

Jackie – Congrats on your great race! You’ve really been tearing it up lately.

Kristi – Great workout yesterday!

Gayle – Good to “see” you again! You look great…congratulations!

BBL tonight. Have a great day everyone!

RE: Gimme a

Good Morning Cheetahs.

I have to work this morning. I wasn't on the schedule but someone asked last week if I could cover for them today. I'm not looking forward to it. x(

My neck is still really bothering me but I guess I am headed in the right direction cause I can now hold my head upright this morning instead of having it permanently bent towards the right! LOL I took dose #3 and hope it really starts to kick in soon. I am supposed to go to my MIL's for dinner tonight and will find it hard to navigate the drive on the highway w/o a better range of motion in my neck, ya know?

What I am really mad about is that I could start a rotation with the new series by doing all of the upper body weight work this week if my neck were okay! GRRRR. My legs definately still need some thawing time so I can't do any cardio yet but I can deal with that. I EARNED that rest! LOL

The results for the HM STILL aren't up! GRRR! I know how I did but I just like to see it "OFFICIAL" and I want to see how far down the line of runners I placed. :p

Lorie: So sorry about the lack of sleep. That really stinks! Don't sweat it if you don't find the motivation for a run. You should take that time for a NAP instead!

Cathy: Were you instructed not to have tea this morning for some reason?? Oh you get to do BC today! I am so jealous! Kick it, girl! ;)

Wendi: Wow, what a running story. What a great 10 miler though. I would not have had the nerve to do a hilly 10 yet! Good for you!:) Oh trust me...the pic is just awful. I have a stupid look on my face for starters. Now I could get past that if I didn't look down at my one leg and see that it looked totally deformed! LOL It's really gross looking, I swear! Give me a few days to get up the nerve and I'll post the link to it for y'all to look at. :7

Lori: Sorry about your running buddy troubles. I am not good for advice with that kind of stuff cause I am a wimp and a push over and would end up running with her once in a while even if I didn't want to. LOL

Well, my time here is up. Gotta go get DS up for work.

BBL!:)

RE: Gimme a

Hi Cheetahs –

Sitting here watching the news on the fires and am just shaking my head. WOW! I feel for the people of So Cal. DH told me to head south and go help, but we’ll see. Today I have a KPC/L&G premix on tap. I’ll do it all low impact, though.

Lorie – so sorry about your insomnia! I hate when I cannot sleep. Hope you get your energy back and don’t spend the day in a fog like I typically do when I don’t get enough sleep!

Cathy – Sounds like a great workout on tap – I finally get mine tomorrow!! If I get them early, I might do a workout at noon.

Wendi – Sounds like you had an incredible run! What a trail! I love runs like that – I’ll be your felt absolutely wonderful afterwards! Enjoy another workout today! The fires are really scary, aren’t they?

Lori – Some people just cannot take a hint unless you hit them over the head with a hammer. She’ll get it eventually. Enjoy the run you have planned today!

Wendy – I’m not looking forward to working either :+. Hope your neck feels better! How absolutely frustrating with the new workouts taunting you! Hope they post the results soon!

Well, guess I should get moving. Enjoy everyone! My workouts are here in California, but they will get a tour of our lovely state (well, lovely except the parts that are burning down now!) and will be on my doorstep tomorrow.

RE: Gimme a

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..glad to hear your back is better. I imagine that car ride yesterday was no fun. I ran yesterday morning and then did 30 min on my EXT and ME bi's and tri's. I got the new DVD's but too late to try any out. We don't see many coyotes anymore, but do have problems with foxes getting the chickens. Enjoy 4DBC later today.

Wendy...How are the legs feeling today? I imagine training was tough last night. Hope your neck gets better as the day goes on, that can be a pain! Here is a link to the endurolytes I have used before, especially in hot weather. http://www.e-caps.com/za/ECP?PAGE=PRODUCT&CAT=ELECT&PROD.ID=4037&OMI=10104,10082,10047&AMI=10104 So you didn't drink any kind of sport drink during the HM? With the new workouts I rarely preview, I just jump right in! I didn't think your pic on the site was bad at all, but some of the others...wow...

Wendi..sounds like an awesome trail run yesterday. I have done the same before on new trails and ended up running longer than I planned! I think one more run before the 7K would be good. I hope the flaky clients show up at some point. yes, I got the new DVD's last night.

Lori...good job on the 70 min run. So do you lift on days you don't run? About your previous running friend, if it were me, I would just try and tell her that things for you are more hectic now with DS. And it is harder to plan runs with her, so you have chosen to run alone.

Christine...is your sternum and your wrist better today? LMAO about the inside out pants yesterday...:)...I had the TV on most of the day yesterday. The fires are really devastating. I have a friend in Ventura and his son took a video of all the smoky skies. It was picked up by a news station...it is just sad to see all the damage. Enjoy your KPC/L&G workout today.

Jackie...Glad to hear your foot is better today. I don't always go by mileage for new shoes, I just get some after 3-4 months. I bet yoga felt good yesterday after the 10 mile run Sunday.

Gayle...way to go on BFL! Thanks for sharing the pics, you look great!!

Sunny...yep! I jump right in to new workouts. Hope your knees are feeling better today.

Judy...sorry about the hip problem. I get some pain it seems on my outer glute, and have decided to do some floor legwork once a week to see if it helps.

Lorie...with too many aches and pains I think cutting back on running time could very well help. I will be doing 2 of the new workouts today, can't wait!! Sorry about the insomnia last night...:(

Susan...I plan on LIS this morning. I think I will really enjoy the weights.

Shelly...wow, running up those stairs looks tough, running down would about kill me! I bet that ice got heavy at the top! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the pics. I am going to tackle the Legs section in 4DKB today. How did you like it after the 16 miles yesterday? I got the new DVD's about 6 last night, too late to try any out.

So I am going to do the Leg weights from 4DKB and then tackle LIS! I will come back later to tell you if I survive!!

Have a great day...:)

RE: Gimme a

well, i managed to keep my run to 45 minuites. let me tell you something, it was TOUGH, but i knew i would have you guys to answer to if i didn't keep my promise. i did iTread #12/45 which i thought was 45 minutes of running so i set my TM for 45. then, grace says that it's 40 minutes of running and a 5 minute stretch, so i opted to run for the extra 5 minutes. i still did 5.2 miles which i don't think is bad for 45 minutes. i have to say, it was nice knowing i wasn't going to be running for 60-75 minutes. if i have some energy, i am going to try and do some weights tonight. maybe that upper body premix again-i really liked it.

lori-i think you should just be direct with your friend. tell her that you really don't have much of a schedule, that it is more of your son's schedule and you also use that time to retreat from everything by listening to music or zoning out. let her think it's not her but more that you need some alone time, especially with a baby.

wendi-yes, it felt really good to know that my run wasn't going to be as long. btw, GREAt run you did yesterday! i really need to get out and do some 10+ milers before my half!!!

wendy-sorry you have to work today when you hadn't planned on it. that stinks! as for resting, you definitely earned it!!!

christine-yes, i feel like i am in a bit of a fog. i am going to rty to sneak out of work a bit early today. do you think you're going to go to san diego to help out? that's awesome of you.

carole-yes, the insomnia sucked! i have had it forever but sometimes it's worse than others. as for the running, i just don't see how all that mileage is going to help me when i'm not training for a marathon or anything. i had that foot issue, then my hip, then i got sick, just too much stuff going on. i think i need to be a little nicer to my body.

jackie-so you know dyersburg? that's funny because most people i tell have no idea. i haven't been but we are going for christmas. df doesn't like it very much. i think because it's so small.

well, i am going to try to look busy and not fall asleep at my desk.

later, cheetahs!

RE: Gimme a

Good morning all! We have an active and chatty group as usual this morning!:) I had too much to catch up with yesterday and DH really wanted to get the movie in so I'll be doing my long run(16 miles) today. There's a new trail section that has opened up so I'm looking forward to exploring new territories... to boldly go where no runner has gone before :p So yesterday I ended up doing all of the KB workout with Legs in the morning. In the evening I did the cardio only HIS. I'm pretty encouraged after doing this one a second time. I've pretty much got it down except for the last combo where it endes with the lunges off the step in all directions.

Lorie- Love the thread title today! Sorry you had a bout with insomnia- that was my problem yesterday which is another reason I changed my schedule. I'm impressed that you were able to get up the motivation for a 45 min run!!! This check in is great for giving those mental boosts!

Christine- Hiya California cheetah! Those fires really do look nasty! We've really dodged the bullet so far here in Az, it has been so dry we're all just waiting for disaster to strike. I like your plan of a rotation using the 4DS series. These cardio sections are short but intense!! You'll love them!

Lori- Great to see you back this morning! Thank you so much for indulging me with all the nosy questions ;-) Actually I do remember you now from when this runners thread first got started.
I think it may even have been you that started it.... am I remembering right? That's awesome that you've gotten back into running after your second baby!! Sounds like you are doing fantastic!!!! That is a tricky situation regarding your friend and how to deal with that. Like you, due to circumstances I prefer to run alone although occasionally I will run with others, but not often. If running comes up as a topic with your friend it helps to first approach it with a complement.... like I want to thank you for being such a wonderful running partner and inspiration to me in the past.... BUT right now due to my kids/schedule, etc it just works better for me to run on my own. Whatever, I'm sure you'll work it out.

Jackie- Yoga would have been a great choice for ya yesterday! Was I smiling at the finish? Usually after a tough race I am cuz I'm so glad I'm done! ;-) I was concentrating pretty hard on this one though and DH wasn't able to get a finishing pic so I don't really know! Hope you're having a great day!

Cathy- DH and I saw 3:10 to Yuma yesterday. Great flick, but pretty violent... well that was the old West! Funny thing was that most of it took place in Bisbee, Az, where I just ran the stairclimb. You're doing the BC workout today? That one is a toughie!!!

Wendi- I loved your trail run story!!!! Great job:7 :7 :7 You are in awesome shape for your race next Sunday and I really look forward to hearing your report of it! I think you're schedule until then sounds really smart and very well thought out.

Wendy- What was the name of the HM you did? I'd love to see the results myself and see your name there. That's odd that they aren't posted yet. My stairclimb race in Bisbee had the results posted on Monday. There were alot more people running in it then I thought. There were 40 runners in my division alone! Sorry you are having such problems with your neck! Sounds very painful and I do hope your meds kick in for you today!!

Carole- Fortunately at the Bisbee race I only went UP the stairs, never down. That's the way they planned the race. Going down would be far too dangerous, not to mention painful!! Have fun exploring the new series. The LIS cardio is very fun and imaginative. Not as trick to learn as HIS.

Time to quit stalling and get out of here! I have to get in 16 miles before it's time for a visit to the dentist:(

RE: Gimme a

Im back! But no workout done yet! LOL He decided to stay and enjoy the babies company without getting sleepy so we will have to go for a run after lunch. I was kind of hoping to take him to the sitters after lunch so he can get use to the surroundings but that won't be happening today. Prehaps I can go Wed,Thurs and Fri!

Wendi, how did you hurt your neck anyway? And I didn't know you were working now. Thought you were still a SAHM. I was envious of you...but now Im not! LOL Although I don't think you work full time...or do you? I am also a pushover and thats why I don't answer my phone. If I answer the phone I will be forced into running with her! She doesn't take no for an answer very often either.

Christine, I haven't seen the news but I can only imagine how horrific this fire must be. Have they controlled it at all? Enjoy your workout!

Carole, right now I lift whenever I have time. And that usually has to be when DH is home or I will do a circuit workout when DS goes for his nap. I like to get cardio in and thats my priority. I have told my running partner on numerous occasions that my schedule is everywhere these days. She said one day that her husband say me out running and asked how come we never run together anymore. I guess that was really her way of asking me herself. I told her that I am usually gone before she even gets up. But now she knows I can't leave until DD is shipped off to school so she ends up calling around 9:30 or so. Not to mention the fact that she sees me out running...and HELLO I didn't call you...hint, hint! She takes things personnal though and when she saw me running the other day she waved, but didn't look at me. I knew she was annoyed.

Lorie, I think 45 mins and 5.2 miles is pretty good! Thats nothing to screw your nose up about. The next TM I get will have incline. DH bought the basic TM for me a few christmas's ago and Im surprised its lasted as long as it as.Its on its way out though when I was on it the other day it slowed down when I was running. Weird!

Shelly, how often do you run 16 miles? I thought I did good with 10! Yowza....I thought I was crazy! You girls may bring me to a whole new level of crazy! LOL

Ill BBL to report my workout!
Lori:)

RE: Gimme a

Good morning Cheetahs!

Wendy - My next race is a half marathon on Nov. 4. That means I will have to hit the treadmill some while I'm in NY. A 15K should be a good race. Sorry to hear your neck is still bothering you.

Gayle - Congratulations on the 12 pounds loss and your 5K!

Lorie - Sorry you didn't sleep well last night. A lot of that going around. Don't blame you for easing up on the mileage during the week. I plan on doing that once my halfs are over and done. Yes, I have to go to Dyersburg every now and then. It's a small town but bigger than where I live. Nothing much to do unless you go to Metro areas like Memphis and Nashville.

Cathy - Can you tell a difference since you've been going to the chiro? I swear since I've been having deep tissue massages I feel so much better. I think it even helped my allergies. Not near as bad since that second massage. Enjoy your workout.

Wendi - Sounds like you had an awesome trail run yesterday. Glad you found your way back or you could have ended up with more than a 10 mile run. :) Good luck with your 7K this weekend.

Lori - I've never had a running partner. So, I can't offer any advice on how to handle that situation. Sometimes I think I might like to run with someone and then other times I enjoy the time to myself. Hope it works out that you don't have to hurt her feelings.

Christine - I feel for those people in Cali too. Just seems like so much happening these days. I didn't realize some areas of Georgia are close to running out of drinking water. All we can do is keep praying. Enjoy your workout.

Carole - Think I've been running in these shoes since April. I've had intentions of looking at my logs but my mind can't hold water and I forget. Hope you enjoyed your workout.

Shelly - New territory! How fun! Hope you had a great run! Interesting about 3:10 to Yuma in AZ. I enjoyed the movie more than I thought.

I did iTread #11 Circuit Surprise. Added enough mileage to get in 3 miles and did part of iStretch #10. One of the ladies in my race Sunday asked me to run the St. Jude HM in Dec. I told her I would keep it in mind but don't think I will do it. I'm tired of training now and ready for a break.

All East Coast Cheetahs! Will I need a coat this weekend for NY or can I get by with something lighter? Don't want to haul a big coat around if not necessary.

Enjoy your day!

Jackie

RE: Gimme a

Jackie- you should not need a heavy coat in NY , but you will need an umbrella. I checked on Desk
Top weather for Manhattan and predictions are for "few showers high 70 on Saturday and 63 on Sunday."

Shelly- I did enjoy you race report! Yesterday dictated that I be in lurk mode. But congratulations for a race well run and lots-a-fun!!

Carole- I am going to incorporate more leg work again, but I think it was sprints with Grace followed by tennis on the same day. Throw in two 10 miles runs in consecutive weeks, and boom! I over trained. But really, I did the sprints so fast that I had to hold onto the treadmill. This was a mistake. If the treadmill is going so fast that I need the bars then my hips are getting in a bad situation. Lesson learned! HAve you tried the new workouts yet? I am enjoying them!

Lorie- Good job on getting the 45" run in when your mind did not want to do it! I agree that not every run needs to be long. I use Smart Coach from Runners World. com th make up training schedules and there is usually one long easy paced run, one Tempo OR speed interval run and tow short easy paced runs. ( Because I liked iTread so much I was doing 2-3 spped interval runs with grace and in to 3 weeks time i began to get my hip pain back)

Lori- You will have to tell your friend nicely that it just will not work out for you two to run together for the time being. Perhaps she is not picking up on your subtle unavailability.

Christine- Are you far from those being evacuated? My sister and her DH have been evacuat4ed to a hotel. They have lived in southern CA for 40+ years and never had to evacuate before.

Wendy- How about a long hot shower for your neck? Can you see I am all about water therapy? LOL Yup, hot water (as long as your not inflamed) and Ibuprofin.

Wendi- Are those clients going to pre-confirm before you go through the major preparations AGAIN?

HI Susan! I Kristi!

This morning was 4DS HIS, BAck and Chest followed by tennis. I tried to baby my hip at tennis.

I am a bit worried about my Kitty, Rocky. he likes visiting with the neighbors over the hill from us. And he came home long enough to eat last night and left again. It has been raining steady all day, and he has not come home. He really likes our neighbors porch and their little kids. We have asked them not to fed him, but they had already given him Tuna! I may have to go get him and drive him home.

RE: Gimme a

Uh-Oh Judy! Your cat may think that the neighbours house is actually home!;) Good luck with finding her!

I went for my run and it ended up doing my 10 mile run , I also finished with GS Legs Timesaver #1. My legs are TIRED~!

Lori:)

RE: Gimme a

Lorie...good job on the 45 min run! I agree that you really don;t have to put in a lot of miles if you are not really training. Miles became more important for me when I started marathon training. I think your body will appreciate you cutting back just a tad..:)

Shelly...I am glad you didn't have to run down those stairs as I agree, quite dangerous. Running up them though is supposed to be a great leg workout. So far I am loving the new series! Have a good 16 miler...and the dentist?...more work?...maybe you can sleep thru it...:)

Lori..I think eventually your friend will get the hint. I say, stick to running the way you like. It seems to be working for you. I have done my long runs on Sundays with mainly my sister and another friend. We have done this about 15 years! But for my weekly training runs, I prefer to run them alone. WOW! 10 miles and GS Legs timesaver...yep my legs would be tired too!!

Jackie...YES, you need some new running shoes! Sounds like a fun iTread. If you are feeling you need a break I would definitely forgo the HM in Dec.

Judy...I did 2 of the new workouts today. I do believe I am going to really like this series. The Leg weight workout on 4DKB has a great exercise for the hips with the resistance band. Is Rocky neutered? Your neighbors feeding him tuna is way unfair!!

So as for the new workouts...WOW!!!! I love the Leg weight workout and I know I will feel those low plane lunges tomorrow! LIS seemed very fun. I really liked some of the new step moves. The shoulder work is awesome. My shoulders were about fried after the 3rd set of overhead presses and then using 15lbs for the 4th set! I am thinking I could have some DOMS tomorrow. I might even try some of HIS cardio this afternoon. I took JC to the Vet for her shots. He thinks she is about a year old and not spayed. Off to do some housework...:)

Good Afternoon Cheetahs!

I'm heading out in just a moment for my MIL's for dinner but wanted to pop in to say hi. My neck is on the mend! I am feeling a noticable difference as the day wears on. Perhaps I will be able to work out tomorrow!:7

Carole: Thanks for the link. I checked it out and am leaning towards giving the Heed sports drink powder a shot. :)

GTG 4 now but I'll be back later on this evening to catch up with personals!

Ciao Bellas!:*

Carole- The leg work is so different and isn't it? I only have inner thigh DOMS today so far. The hip exercise with the band was just what I need! My band is shorter and has more resistance, but it worked fine. I'll be keeping this in my rotation for at least a month... I talked to one family who agreed not to Rocky him anymore. They just called and said Rocky has been hanging out with another family the last 2 days! All my kitties are neutered except the stray who I can't catch long enough to get neutered.

Wendy- I am glad to read you are on the mend!

RE: Gimme a

Good evening ladies!

I got home too late from work to squeeze in 4DBC so I'm aiming to get it in tomorrow morning. I just can't workout then go right to bed. I prefer to get them in in the morning anyway because I find it wakes me up and gives me energy for the day.

Wendy - So glad that your neck is feeling better tonight. I hope you feel up to a workout tomorrow! So where is this infamous pic exactly? I hope dinner was yummy.

Christine - Your concern and prayers for all in the path of the fires is inspiring. It is almost surreal to watch.

Carole - I absolutely can't wait to try the weight section of 4DKB! It's killing me to have to wait til next week but I didn't want to have a go of it before my race this weekend. Yeah, I know I'm a weenie :+ *lol*. LIS fried my shoulders pretty good, too, although I didn't end up with any DOMS. The weird thing is when I did HIS Ch/Ba on Sat I didn't feel much of anything (with some serious weight, too) but the DOMS were outrageous the next day. In fact, they're still hanging around }(. Weird, huh?

Lorie - That was a great run you had there considering that your motivation was nil this am...WTG!

Shelly - Thanks sweetie. I bow to your (and all the Cheetahs) expertise. With the hectic week I now have in front of me that run may be the only other workout I do this week. I really want to tackle 4DBC tomorrow morning though! How was your run today? I hope you enjoyed that new trail! Now I see why you guys love it so much!

Lori - Your legs are tired???? I can't believe you're still standing...I'd be hobbling right about now! I hope your "running buddy" catches on quickly. You can't change your life to accomodate her and nor should you.

Jackie - Yeah, leave the heavy coat at home but you may need an umbrella. So, if I may ask, what are your plans while in my neck of the woods...theater, sporting event, etc? I hope you enjoy your trip! Your schedule is so packed I can understand why you would pass on that Dec HM. Thanks for the well-wishes.

Judy - That was some series of workouts you had there...good idea to give yourself a little breather. So Rocky has been hitting up your neighbors, huh? I'm sure he'll realize that home is so much better. Yeah, and the "flaky trainer" is supposed to confirm for Friday on Thursday...we'll see.

Okay, gotta hit the sack. It's going to be a very rough bunch of days and I'm going to need all the sleep I can get. See ya in the am!
