for those of who you who like Tracey Staehle what do you like...

I've watched the clips of step mix and kickbox, they look good. I have Amy Bento kickbox xtreme which I like. Is she comparable to her and Cathe? Cathe is my favorite by far but I was curious what other Cathe fans think of these other instructors.

Jenn, I ordered all of Tracey's first workouts (including the step and kickboxing workouts). The step one is pretty good and relatively intense. If you are interested in mostly cardio, I wouldn't purchase the KB challenge one. I kept it because I really like the sculpting section, but I did the KB part once and will never do it again. Tracey posted on her website about her filming day. I felt so bad for her it was very hot and she filmed 3 workouts in one day. My point is she just looks tired during KB and I didn't really like the moves in it. JMO, the cardio part of the KB workout was pretty unmotivating and blah to me.

She is filming a new series of workouts next weekend called the Sweatfest series. This will include a KB/hilo, step, and sculpting workout. Here's some details below.

I think that she learned a ton from the last time around and is really going to nail these workouts. She has been practicing so hard and is really ready for this set it seems (see her discussion boards). If it were me, I would order her sweatfest set and maybe the step workout from the last series.

i do like her High Intensity Step Mix but would love it more if i could get thru the whole workout with no prob. her new workouts sound great expecially the sculpting. can they be preordered?

I really liked her first series. I LOVE her step workout and while I've never done an Amy Bento step workout, I would compare Tracey's High Intensity Step Mix workout to Imax 2 in terms of intensity. The choreography, however, is more intricate than Cathe's and she sets up the intervals differently than Cathe does. Some of her interval moves are similar (squat thrusts, power scissors) and some are different (fast runs up on and off the ste, etc.) I think variety is great, so I really like this workout.

I don't like a lot of choreo when it comes to kickboxing so I actually like Tracey's High Intensity Kickbox Challenge. I use HIKC on a day when I am tired or looking for a mid range cardio workout (I'd gauge its intensity as being a bit lower than Powerstrike 3). I typically pair the cardio section of this workout with the cardio section from Cathe's CTX Kickboxing just to get in a 40 min. cardio workout. What I like most about her HIKC workout, like Karin, is the sculpting section. I only ever used to 'do' Cathe for sculpting/weight work, and the sculpt section of Tracey's kicboxing workout has some interesting moves that focus on balance and stability.

Your question was about cardio, but I'd like to give kudos to her Core Strength and Conditioning workout, which works the core very, very well. It's 45 long and it's given me DOMS every time.

Like Karin said, I think Tracey learned a lot from her first filming and as far as cardio goes, I think her new kickboxing workout (which also includes about a 20 min hi/lo workout) and her step workout are going to be fabulous.

Pre-ordering begins, I'm pretty sure, the day after filming, which is January 20th - so the presale should start on the 21st.

Just a small consideration.

Tracey does not teach and perform with the same degreee of confidence as Cathe does. The workouts do not have the same feel. She doesn't do a whole lot of jokey stuff with you, as Cathe does. With Cathe I feel and know that I am in the hands of a pro and I never question anything she asks me to do, though I might just refuse sometimes!

As Jillybean says, Tracey's first kickbox DVD is good for days when you don't have the full-out energy that KPC and Kick Max require. But, I personally find the music less interesting than Cathe's music choices, and Tracey's workout is somewhat repetitive.

As everyone has said, a second workout series can only be better than a first, right? So, good things should be ahead in her new 3 workouts. But, take a listen to the music Tracey will be using, as she has made available on her website. I know music sounds different when you are doing the moves as opposed to just listening to it off your computer at home, but I found her music heavily repetitive and uninspired, which is a shame, because I was looking forward to pre-ordering and now, I don't know what to do myself!!!!

I will probably pre-order because the prices just can't be beat!

i agree, her music is repetitive but when working out i pay more attention to what she says and the screen. same with any workout i do. but i will =check it out for curiousity.

I agree. I did the cardio section of the KB and will never do it again. Even though it was 'too short' for my tastes, one combo seemed to drag on, and it was a space hog. But most of all, I agree with Karin, she just looked so tired and DEmotivating, like I sometimes feel at 4:00 on the Friday of a really trying week.

The strength portion looks interesting, but I haven't tried it yet.

If anything, wait until her new series comes out. It sounds much better, and I think she learned from the first experience (though she is again filming all 3 workouts in one day...this time KB will be first, so she won't be exhausted).
