Food questions

Don't laugh. I've been busy doing my own thing for years and missed this whole clean eating approach. It doesn't mean washing your fruits and vegs when you get them home from the supermarket does it? Seriously, I understand generally that it means avoiding processed foods and if possible, foods with ingredients in them that sound like they came out of laboratory. It also means avoiding saturated fat or limiting intake to a certain amount? What about suggested daily intake of fats as a percentage--30%? Typically my husband and I eat what gets called the Mediterranean diet, with some ordinary summer-grilling-on-the deck things that are popular everywhere. As many fruits and vegs as we can fit in, whole grains (breads), and limited amounts of sweets (except a bit of chocolate every day for me). Any good online references or suggestions for clean eating?

Thanks

Leslie,
There are quite a few websites that offer advice on this subject, I'd say google it and take your pick. I know that several ladies here like sparknotes.com, and fitday.com for tracking daily calories and food related advice. But you might want to start by just doing a search on these forums. Not only will you get excellent on a variety of eating lifestyles, but invaluable tips, recipes, and links.
BTW, it sounds like you're eating pretty "clean" already, if that daily chocolate is dark chocolate, lol!
HTH,
Mattea:)
