Foam rollers...

lederr

Cathlete
anyone know where i can get a relatively inexpensive high-density foam roller (i don't want to spend a lot becausei don't know how much i will actually use it).

i was on collage and was looking at kelli robert's "flexibility for the inflexible" and it sounded interesting.

anyone have it? any opinions?

Lorie,

I bought mine at Target. I think it was about $20.

I like it. I was using The Stick to work out the perpetual knots I have in my calves, but I find the foam roller to be even more effective b/c you're using your body weight to exert the pressure. It gets in there goOoOd! (Sometimes it actually hurts a little!)

Hi Lorie...like Cathy, I bought mine at Target and the other day I saw them there for about $22.99. It came with a DVD to show a few ways to use the roller. They are worth the price and they do really get into the muscle...:)

The biggest enablers!!!

i really think the cheetahs are the ultimate enablers. since my cheetah-dom, i have gotten a bosu, a HRM, classical stretch, various iCLimbs and iTreads, cardio coaches, i am seriously thinking about ordering the magically hips dvd, and now a foam roller!!!

next thing you know, i'll be buying skis and i don't even know how to ski!

I think I might resemble that remark....:D...but a Nordic track machine would be better than ski's as there is not the tendency to fall off the Nordic track...:D

I got mine at my local PT facility and it was $20. It seems more convenient to get it at Target. I didn't even know they sold them there. I just wanted to add that using a foam roller is one of the best ways to loosen up your IT band. My IT bands are so happy that I use this thing. Nothing else has ever loosened them up.

I ordered mine online & I agree, there is nothing better for your IT bands!! It's the only way I recovered from IT band injury after my marathon. Happy rolling! ;-)

Sure, I can be enabled into skiing, but not sure there is any snow in Cali...:D
