Hi ladies! I'm back!!!! I had an AMAZING time in the bahamas. The weather was beautiful. It felt so good to relax and not have so many diet and exercise rules for myself. It was an active vacation as we had to bike everywhere and abaco is very mountainy. I did run a couple of times also. I did a 30 minute soft sand run on sunday and got up early on monday morning and did a 45 minute run. It was so beautiful! My ankles and calfs are so sore today from all the hills. My hubby is a surfer and i've made the new years resolution to learn so i can join him in the fun. I enjoyed all the local food without a care. If i wanted something i ordered it. I didn't gorge myself. I had a few alcoholic drinks each night. If i wanted some fries with lunch or dinner i got it. It was so freeing. I realized that a week of enjoying some foods won't pack on any weight. I didn't gain an ounce and i listened to my body when it said it was hungry i ate and if my belly wasn't growling i didn't eat. Hopefully i can stick with it. When i got home i did the slim series workout "tone it up". I forgot how much i liked these workouts. I like lifting light weights for higher reps. I feel that i really can focus into the muscle. When i lift heavy i seem to compensate with other muscles and its just stresses my joints to no end. I noticed that people in the bahamas are in amazing shape and all they do is surf, run the beach, and bike. They do some pushups but other than that they do no weight work. Sometimes i feel that weight work is overrated about how much we need to keep healthy. I'm not trying to be a bodybuilder so i'm not going to beat myself up with weights 3 or more times per week. I've decided to do light weight full body workouts 2 times per week and cardio 3-4 times per week. I want to focus on just being healthy. Trips like this are really humbling and make you realize whats important in life. I hope you ladies have been doing well and look forward to starting up chats with you! Whats the plan for new years? i'm going to a party at the inlaws which should be lots of fun. talk to you ladies tomorrow.
