Fish....skin

Okay, please don't gross out. :) But this is a real question.

I had grilled salmon tonight at a delicious restaurant. They grilled the salmon fillet so that the fish skin was light and crispy...and really tasty.

Is eating that part not so great for you?
 
I did a search but I can't find any information about the skin. I know my DH loves eat and always eats it. I don't know the fat content, if any, in fish skin. I know the belly fat of some fish has higher concentrations of contaminants like mercury but I don't know if that's a concern for the skin as well.
