Feeling sorry for myself

I'm just posting this because I'm feeling very sorry for myself.

All of last week I had so much work to do that to alleviate the stress of feeling overwhelmed I shelved any and all workouts for the week.

I started back strong on Saturday with an 8 mile run, Sunday with Legs And Glutes and PlyoX and with the intention of filling up the rest of the week with circuit workouts.

This morning I did two segments from Ab Hits and was going to do Circuit Max. Well, my CM is on VHS and the remote for the VCR was behind the entertainment center. While digging it out from behind there I strained my back so bad that I cannot stand up straight!

To top it all off I saw Candi's thread about a replacement for ice cream and that brought to mind the pint of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream in my freezer. Half a pint didn't make my back any better. Waaaah!!;( ;( ;(

Elaine:
My back has been giving me fits off and on since Nov.
I was feeling great and started doing Cathe workouts and running and then for no apparent reason it starts up again. It is so frustrating when you don't feel like you can get ahead.
Commiserating with you, but wish I had a magic wand to make us both "poof" good as new!
Till then you might try ice for 20 minutes on/off and aleve.

You're having one of those weeks - and so am I! Had to kick our 20-year old out of the house for reasons I won't go into but I am feeling sooooo low because my family has suddenly become dysfunctional and I'm too sad to work out this week and I just ate an ENTIRE box of Girl Scouts cookies here at work. oink! Anyway, just had to tell ya I'm there with ya! Tomorrow will be better.

Isn't that WHY boxes of girl scout cookies exist? Come on - has anyone ever started with one and not finished the box? Tomorrow will be better - for everyone! (Were they the samoas? Love those!)

I'm just here to say that sometimes life hits us like a run away train and all we can do is hang on for dear life until it all settles down.

Don't beat yourself(s) up for missing workouts or eating junk. Life can really suck sometimes and we all need to cope in what ever means we have at hand. You're not going to gain 50 pounds for eating that box of cookies. You won't have a heart attack because you didn't work out this week.

Just do the best you can any day. That's all any of us are capable of.:D

Yep, that's Juliana. She's pictured with her beloved guinea pig, Ariel, who we brought home on Dec 17, the earliest date she could be taken from her mother. We got her from a friend whose pair of guinea pigs had babies. Well, last Thursday when we discovered Ariel with a baby of her own we realized that she didn't come to us undefiled! Juliana has named that one Aurora and is already attached to it. Those critters are so prolific we are really hoping it turns out to be female!

I hope ALL of you are doing better tomorrow! As for the comfort foods, just remind yourself that you know what it tastes like and eating it is only going to make you feel worse about the situation!
