I was looking at a few ellipticals and noticed they have different strides. Do you know if the stride can be adjusted? My husband and I would be using the same machine but he is about 8 inch. taller than I am and has a longer stride then I do.
It depends on the Elliptical. Mine has strides of 12, 15 and 18. They suggest using the different strides works muscles a bit different. "12 inch lifts your derriere, tones your hips and works off celllite. 15 inch gives you an energizing cardio workout, and 18 inch maximizes your calorie burn for faster weight loss results" That quote is from Nordic Tracks website...
Also wanted to add Elaine, I use the 18 inch stride most of the time and I am 5'4", my DH at 6 ft also uses the 18 inch stride. I use the shorter stride when I warm up before a run...
Mine doesn't have an adjustable stride--it's fixed at 19" and works well for both me and DH. I'm 5'5" and DH is 6'4". But I like that the adjustable stride works your muscles differently.
The ProForm XP makes a model with an adjustable stride, but I can't remember what model number it is. I have the 130, and it only has an 18 inch stride. I'm 5"5', and it works well for me.
