DOMS question

For those more in the know than I am. I recently began working out with a PT 2x a week. When I workout with Cathe (or any home DVD) I find that if I get DOMS at all, I get it the day after my workout. But when I work out with my PT I get DOMS 2 days later, and it last much longer -- not that I'm complaining because I am one of those who loves that feeling. But wondering why. Do any of you get DOMS a full 2 or so days after you work out?

Hi Lorrie!

I've gotten it both ways. Yesterday I did P90X Chest/Shoulders/Triceps and today I'm hurtin'. But other times, I've felt nothing only to be in pain 2 days later. And then there are times when I think I've really pushed myself only to have no DOMS at all. I've never really paid attention to what workouts I was doing that may give me DOMS one day or 2 days later. Either way, enjoy the burn:)

Yup. Sometimes its 24 hours, but more often its 48. Ive sometimes wondered if it might be my age. If cuts and scrapes take longer to heal now, why shouldnt DOMS take longer to come and go? Just a random thought.

I agree with Nancy. The older I get, the later DOMS appear. And the longer they last. I just assumed it was old age.:p
