Damage Control June :)

Good Morning Ladies,

It's back to the next STS disc which is CS&B. Gonna throw in some ab work too. The bike ride didn't happen last, booh. I ended up working late and DH and I had to discuss our loan options so we can get that finalized this week.

We have more fires...one of them in a nearby town about 15-20 mins away. This latest one was started from a lightning strike. The one burning to the south of me took a terrible turn for the worst yesterday afternoon, it broke the primary and secondary cut offs in a matter of minutes due to 65 mile an hour winds. It's now burning into a subdivision and numerous homes have been lost. Fortunately they were able to evacuate everyone from their homes. Please pray for rain.

Due to all the smoke in the air, the news is advising against outdoor exercise. That made me feel better about missing my bike ride yesterday.

Wendy-I just checked the zwow w/o, zuzana looks amazing. Should be a goodie for sure! Oranges huh, I haven't had one in quite a while. The little cuties are good too. Hadn't considered, peeling..freezing and using in a smoothie...sounds yummy. Lounging in a pool sounds wonderful, have fun!

Lori-all my boys tended to pee through their jammies at night. You seem to take things in stride and just go with the flow. You are amazing...all that working out..."and just 20 min on the tm"! Of course you miss DH everyday, that's too be expected...keep in mind your one day closer to having him home!;)

Laura-is there any equipment needed for HB? I'm trying to determine what w/o's to take on vacation with me. I won't have access to any equipment though. These come to mind: HIIT(DWP), CCC, KB/BC, KPC, and maybe even Cathe's new ones!

Hello Again.:)

My work out is done and boy was it a doozie!

The work out is broken down into 5 rounds of 5 exercises @ 10 reps each for time. I finished in about 33:24m. I changed up the weights I used w/every round. Weights were required for the first three exercises only and I adjusted the speed of my reps according the weight load...for heavier weight loads I had to slow down and for lighter I sped up....It was TOUGH!

When I finished I took a short but refreshing orange break -YUM- and then did 45 minutes of YogaX. It consisted of the warm up, the balance postures and all of the stretching at the end. Exactly what I needed today!:)

BBL for personals!

Good Morning:)

I went to bed fairly early last night...well...earlier then midnight anyways:eek:. I think I fell asleep before 11. But then I woke to the delightful sound of someone knocking on my door and the dog growling under my bed:mad: DD's (somewhat) called boyfriends crazy mother was here to pick him up and starting blowing her horn and knocking on my door at 12:35....I almost showed her who the real crazy person was! I guess they were in the basement watching a movie and the cell reception down there isnt the best some times. And then when he leaves he slams the door and almost takes it off of the hinges...he does that EVERY time!!!!!

Also yesterday evening DS was in the tub, he got out to get something and I told him he couldn't do that b/c he could slip and fall. The words were no more then out of my mouth and he fell in the bathroom, hitting his head on the tiles:confused: Instantly there was a bump on his head. So I had to keep him awake a bit longer and wake him up during the night to make sure he was answering me.

I have some nice DOMS from the last two workouts. My bics were sore yesterday but not my back and shoulders. Today my back and shoulders seem to be sore along with my chest...my shoulders are probably sore from mon and the chest work yesterday. Today I will probably just do cardio or cardio and leg circuit...I haven't fully decided yet. Yesterday I did GS chest and tris, 3.5 mile run and abs.

Wendy**. I have never tried those body rock workouts. I am so reluctant to try new workouts...lol. I've only tried one of the new bob ones I bought:eek:. I had them put to one side to preview and I haven't even done that yet....on top of that, I'm not sure where I tucked them away too! Well having kids may not be the key to getting in shape but I tell ya lugging that baby car seat around nisnt much fun. Esp after doing GS biceps that day!

Diana** forest fires aren't something we get to often. It's usually pretty wet here. Everything was fairly dry but we've had two days of rain now. I'm hoping for a beautiful summer so we can get outside. DS was driving me crazy yesterday evening. Hopefully when soccer starts that will burn some of his energy. He has it two mornings a week and two evenings...the evening ones should break up the evenings nicely

Laura** glad to hear your trip is a go :). Wouldn't want you to be bored like me:p. Yesterday I took all the blinds down, took them outside and hosed them down to get the dust off:). May have been the last way output it was def the smartest and most time efficient!

I will bbl to report my workout!

Lori:)

thurs

I did manage a very hot run ystdy..my car temp said 100...but i think it was around94... but low humidity so i thought it was doable..well 3 1/4 miles 30 min..had ro walk more than i wanted..it was just too damned hot...boy i could feel my sore abs ..eeeeouch!

Lori..wow what a night...crap!... hoping the little one is ok..n hope dd boyfriend learns some manners...but sounds like his mthr dont have any either..

Wendy...r u sore from the kille br ystdy?

Di..on the hc..ahe uses gliders..matt..step...and in that last one weights..but u sooooo dont need weight to do it..yikes..

Ok..wish us luck..have a great one

Good Afternoon! :)

Later then usual first check in for me b/c I was rushing to work out and be out of the house with DS nlt 9:30 this morning. Not easy--how did I ever exercise and get us to school and work on time?? I am going to have to start all over with getting acclamated to super early work outs when I start working again!!! I'm getting tired just thinking about it!

So anyway we went to see a movie this morning. Apparently a local movie theater here shows a free movie in the mornings so we met a mom I used to work with at the gym and her son who Joey used to play with there. The boys got along famously and the movie was cute...and FREE so all I had to pay for was popcorn and a drink! I got out of movie theater spending less then $10!!!! Now that's something to brag about! LOL

So anyway, to answer Laura's question, yes I am sore today! Mostly all along both inner thighs! OUCHEES!!!!

After a few minutes of hooping for a warm up, this morning's work out was ZWOW #21(10 mins) - Zuzana Light - ZWOW # 21 6-7-2012 - YouTube
I had to modify both the burpee headstands and the ninja tuck jumps but it worked out ok. The true goal was just to get some good sweaty cardio going in a short time and this work out did that so I was happy. ;)
I followed that up with the newest DVD arrival (got it y'day afternoon)...Kundalini Warrior Work Out (75 mins). When I was done I felt fantastic! Really love Kundalini yoga. Completely different from Vinyasa yoga but I enjoy it and it seems to be doing things for me that Vinyasa yoga does not so I will continue to practice both styles. :)

Laura:: OMG no. IDK how you run in those temps especially with the humidity you get! You are my hero! Just be careful!!!!! Yes I did some of YogaX after the ZWOW y'day but aside from the sun salutations in the warm up, everything else besides the balancing poses was stretching! I didn't have the energy to do anything that required more strength!

Diana:: So how bad of a wrench are these fires going to put in your tri-training? :( I got hooked on the cuties/clementines first and then when to my ultimate horror the cuties/clems were no longer available I begrudgingly picked up oranges. Well now, with the exception of cuties/clems being more convenient when necessary, I will probably just continue to buy oranges b/c I am LOVING them! That reminds me, I didn't take an orange break between work outs this morning so I still get to eat one at some point today!:D Freezing the sections for smoothies/shakes is definitely a good idea. Unfortunatley I had to give up the shake/smoothie thing a long time ago because it was nothing more then unecessary calories for me. Never kept me full for any amount of time that made them worth it. Eating fruit whole OTOH..that works for me so now I leave the blender in the cabinet and the protein powders on the shelf in the store and I am much better off. They do taste good though so I often wish they would work for me *sigh*...oh well.

Lori:: You gotta learn to branch out a bit girl! If I didn't have the variety I have I would go nuts and get so bored with my work outs! IDK how you do it but then again...good for you that you can! LOL I wouldn't worry so much about trying BR or ZWOW until you've atleast tried all of the DVDs that you PAID for! Bob is tough and you are tough so I think you two would make a good match! :) TRY IT!!!!

Ok this is turning into a short novel so I really need to stop now. :p

BBL or tmrw!

Good Morning Ladies.

Not sure what's on tap for today. Got Cathe's new ones y'day afternoon but I'm still quite sore in the inner thighs from the other day's ZWOW so I won't be trying either one of them no matter what! To add to that I am also short on sleep b/c I was awake for about 2 hours in the middle of the night. :( And last but not least I have 2 dr's appointments today AND foodshopping to do so I'm not sure how much time I'll even have to get a work out out today anyway. We will see what the day brings...Jeez, how many more excuses can one person have!?:eek:

Well, that's all for now.
BBL - hopefully with some sort of work out to report!

TGIF!!!

Hi Ladies,

I tried to post a couple of times yesterday...UGH...work! I ended up sleeping until 7:50am yesterday and had to be at work for a 9am training session that I was running. Not a good morning to say the least. I even had picked out a BR w/o to do that morning...that didn't happen either. After a very long day at work...I blew off my bootcamp class.

Today is a new day and I'm back to the next STS disc. Only 2 more discs to go before I finish Meso 1. Planning on going back to circuits until after the triathlon. Definitely need to spend my time on biking, running and swimming.

The fire in Colorado Springs ended up coming down the mountain into a residential neighborhood and burning to the ground 346 homes so far. It's devastating to say the least. Among the ruins there are homes left standing and untouched.

So I was hoping to see a shipping notice this morning...no luck. Maybe this weekend I 'll get one.

Lori-OMG, I would be so pissed at that mom...good grief. Hope DS's bump is better today. Kids are always in a hurry that's for sure. I've been getting DOM's from STS, but not too bad at all...enough to know it's working! You certainly have enough w/o's to keep you busy, BR and ZWOW are great for when you're short on time though.

Wendy-jealous...you already got the new dvd's and you're not even trying them yet. I think I'm the winner with the excuses....as I'm kicking myself for not going to bootcamp last night. Glad you were able to enjoy the movies with DS. Take advantage of your "time off"! Hopefully the smoke will settle down, it's not too bad in the early mornings before the wind picks up. That just means I need to get myself up and going earlier than normal...not being a morning person doesn't help.

Laura-your are amazing tackling a run in that heat/humidity! I've been slacking on the running with our high temps and smoke in the air. On my "to do" list for tonight is ordering HB dvd..perhaps even the 4 pack...can't wait to try them.

Good Morning

Sorry I was MIA the last couple of days. I think I went to check in and then was sidetracked by something else. Could have been anything when I have 3 kids and take care of 2 more

Let's see...what were my workouts the last 2 days. Yesterday I did a circuit with the tm/bike/B&G. Thurs workout was all cardio, I did 25 mins on the tm/30-30 and 40-20. I think I also did abs. The scale is now down 1 lbs more then my prepreg weight BUT it isn't as low as it was before I went on vacation last year. So I'm pretty close...funny thing is I'm not even trying to lo weight. I guess I don't need to when I don't get to sit down that much in the run of a day.

A friend emailed me the books 50 shades of grey. What a farse! I don't know what all the hype is about. Everytime I logged into fb someone was ranting about this book so I figured id give it a try. Well...it's nothing but trash. I'd say the book is 75% sex crap. It's to the point where I skip over the sex stuff and just read the normal stuff and even then they are talking about sex. I will probably keep reading it in my spare time but good grief....I'm sure I can find better reading material then this!

Wendy** have you tried the new workouts yet? I still haven't bought them.....something I will probably do this weekend. I know I need to branch out...lol...I just don't have the time to learn something new. I like knowing what I'm doing but I'll never try anything new if that's the case, right? I still have some low impact workouts to try!

Laura** still don't know how you run in that heat! I can only imagine how much water (or CABS) you must drink after;)

Diana** that's terrible! I'm guessing no one has been hurt? I would imagine everyone was warned to evacuate their homes? I are you doing a rotation with STS or just the first set?

I think i am gonna book my ticket to see DH. I am looking at the 2nd of aug to the 6th. I think we will both feel better once it's booked.

I will bbl. Not sure what today's workout will be!

Lori

Hi Ladies,

The only thing planned for this weekend is a 12-15 mile bike ride tomorrow. Today I'll do the last disc of meso 1 and a cardio TBD. I still don't have a shipping notice for my dvd's, but I preordered so hopefully I'll get one shortly or the discs will just arrive.:D I have a code to download the workouts but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I'll try it again later today. I ordered both the discs and the downloads.

I have more work to do in the girls room, hope to finish that up today and steam clean the carpets tomorrow. Then next weekend I hope to pick my bedroom set from my brother and set up the room. I would like to have this completed before we leave on vacation the 18th of July. We return on the 24th and girls arrive on the 28th.

Changing banks is a lot of work. Trying to make sure I have all our automatic debits switched to the new account. I set everything up to pay automatically years ago, and can't remember username/pwd to update the account information on several bills...UGH. I'll have to make some phone calls on Monday to get this information so I can make the necessary updates.

Lori-Unfortunately 2 people died in the Colorado Springs fire, remains were found in their home. The topographic view of the neighborhood is just tragic. Single homes left standing amongst the rubble of their neighbors homes. 347 homes have been burned to the ground and 32,000 people displaced. I started Meso 1 after my triathlon. Now that I'm training for another tri I'll be going back to circuits or endurance type weight training.

Wendy-nice w/o's today! I'll have to checkout the ZWOW w/o....I do enough burpees in bootcamp....not sure I'm up for more. Glad to be done with Meso, the pushup torture is over!

Laura-saw your fish pics on FB, quite a catch! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
