crockpot dressing??

We are in the planning stages of how in the hell to cook a 22 lb bird and all the side dishes including two huge trays of stuffing in my grandmother's small stove. I'm contemplating making it in two crockpots instead. Has anyone ever done this successfully?

I did look the at the crockpot lady's website that someone recommended (thanks for that -she's great!) but has anyone else had success?

We buy the Pepperidge farms dried bread cubes and then add all the veggies, butter, chicken broth, and seasonings...think it'd work? I hate to experiment the day of and it be a disaster! Eeks!

Thanks,
Heidi

Hi Heidi,

I googled "crockpot dressing recipe", and came up with a lot of them. Seems from what I read, using the high setting should take about 2 hours, using the low setting it should take 3-4 1/2 hours. Some recipes call for 45 min. on high and 4-6 hours on low. I think it all depends on the ingredients. Google and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Have fun with your dinner, I'm sure everything will be perfect.

I suggest making a half recipe now to test it out in the crockpot. You could maybe roast a chicken and you have nice dinner. I always try to test out any unknowns ahead of time if I'm not sure they would work out.
