~~~~Coolers in September~~~
Finally a weekend at home! I really want lots of downtime but also want to get lots done. I would like to get the garden cleaned up and the root veggies stored for the winter. The real estate agent is going to come next week to discuss the listing of the house which will probably be in October so should do some cleaning. I really want to go see the house again as there has been workmen there all week and dd has piano lessons.
I think MMA kickboxing is on the schedule for today and yesterday I did get the dreaded GS Legs completed before work. It's so nice coming home and having it out of the way.
Laurie, ds came in 4th at the cc meet. It was a meet among 3 schools. Not alot of kids competing but the ones that were there are the good runners. He was happy with his result. On the shopping trip, my sister bought two of Jillian's workouts for my other sister for Christmas as I heard good things about them. I've had both sisters try Cathe but neither have got into workouts. One goes to the gym mostly and the other likes more beginner level workouts.
Have a good weekend!
Evenng Coolers
Just settling the kids down to bed. Hopefully they will be out for the count in few more minutes. Last night I did GS - C/T. I skipped my cardio on Thursday but since I have hardly sat down today I figure I'm even. :p I spent the morning unpacking the boxes in the basement and putting everything on shelves. Found the winter boots! Not sure exactly when we'll finiish the basement and I couldn't stand the mess any longer:eek: I also got around to hanging most of the pictures on the walls. We have a housecleaner starting next Wed. I needed to get organized. Talk about some motivation. Cleaning the house before the cleaner comes:eek:
Kim - I hear ya on spending a weekend at home. I'm a bit of a homebody myself though. Oh the stress of keeping your house neat and tidy. Atleast your kids are older and can pick up (supposedly:D) after themselves. Don't you just love all that hamstring work in GS? It's on my schedule 4 x this month!
Laurie - more & more I think you arms look better if the shoulders are really worked. Maybe that's why she spends so much time on them. Oh, I hate spending $$ on bras as they seem so expensive. Its crazy how much you can spend, but one of these days I'm going to get properly fitted like they say to do. My problem is I don't take care of them and just throw them in the laundry with everything else. Yikes 90. Thats GREAT.
Just finished Butts and Guts, ds joined me on the Guts section. Yesterday dd did MMA Kickboxing with me. It's always fun to have company, makes the time go faster. I moved B&G up a few days as it's so long I thought it might be hard to fit in before work.
Spent a long time cleaning the garden/backyard in anticipation of showing our home in a few weeks. Then in the afternoon we went to the Parade of Homes which are the new showhomes just open by the builders. We went to the pricey area and looked at the really expensive ones. It's fun to look!
Patricia, how did the kids do with the sleepover?? Was that ds's first sleepover? It's still really a buyer's market here. What most people do is have two weekends of openhouses then take bids so hopefully only two days of cleaning but some organizing/decluttering first. I was just joking with a patient of my about her always cleaning before the cleaning lady comes. I'm sure your feeling much more organized now. Better you than me doing GSL 4x/month, that would be worse than Insanity for me!
Morning Coolers,
Today was P90X Chest & Back along with Ab Ripper X. I had forgotten how tough all those push-ups / pull-ups where. :eek:
I worked on the back yard all weekend, and took down a lot of brush. Most of the brush where ones that had thorns, so it was a pleasure to get them out. :D My arms and legs are a little scratched up, but it was well work the pain.
Kim, Congrats to your ds on his finish! Nice that he works out with you too. We had neglected our yard all summer, so DH was working on the front yard, and I tackled the back. My oldest dd just noticed this morning that the tree line in back of our house was cleared out. I was like what do you think all that brush in the ditch is from? :rolleyes: Sometimes they truly are in there own little world.
Patricia, How did the sleepover go? I'm sure it takes a while to get the house organized after moving, and I probably would do the same as you before the cleaning lady arrived. Sure is nice that you can have someone there to get the dusting/sweeping down though. Youngest dd and I went bra shopping on Sunday, and I was really glad that we went somewhere that fit us properly. She learned how her bras should fit, and now she knows how they should look and how they should fit. Well now I do to, and we did spend a lot of $$ on two bras each, but they sure do fit nice. :D
Have a wonderful day!
Evening Coolers
Just realized I didn't check in yesterday. The kids had me up at 6am (good thing I went to be early). They slept great and had a fun morning b/4 I had to drop the little one off. Picked up my sister and headed north for lunch for the b.day party. I didn't get home until the dinner hour and since I'd eaten so much I went and worked out to wear off the lunch. Did B&G - Overall leg workout premix. You must have been channeling me Kim:D Tonight was GS-C/T. I was worried as I was still sorry from doing in on Friday but I got thru it:) Also did AB Circuit - weights only (will do the plate section later in the week I think).
Kim - isn't fun seeing how the other 1/2 live! I just love going to any open house just to get ideas. That's cool that you won't have to clean between showings. So you wouldn't have people coming thru the house on individual showings eh? Yep, 1st true sleepover where the parents were not here. It was the 1st sleepover for his friend to and we were worried if he would get upset at bedtime but no issues crying for Mommy or Daddy. DS has slept over at my sister's on his own but not at a friends house. We might try it this Nov. with this same friend.
Laurie - you did a w/o after all the hard weekend work??? WOW:) DH can't understand why I unpacked the basement if we're going to finish it this winter. At the rate we're going we won't be starting until after the New Year and I just couldn't stand the chaos anymore:eek: Plus it will help us purge a few more things. I have an old computer I've got to get rid of and DH has boxes of magazines I just can't get him to throw out:mad:
Well did Athletic Step this morning. This one was a little tricky to do when half asleep:eek: MMA Fusion in the morning and then I'm finished week 3 of the Sept rotation. Had a phone call at work as dd got lost during the crosscountry run this morning. She was trying to run the longer route with the older kids, wasn't as fast and missed her turn and kept going. SHe had an extra long run and was pretty upset by the time the teacher found her:(
Patricia That's great the sleepover went well. The kids are always so excited to have the sleepover. Why doesn't the chaos seem to bother men??? DH and I did some projects tonight (windows,etc) in preparation for the open house.
Laurie You just decided to do P90X Chest & Back for the fun of it??? ;) What an intense workout that is when you give it your all. I had to LOL at your dd being in their own world. My dd is so like that!! It's amazing what they don't notice.
Morning Ladies,
Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit for me, and my calves are really sore right now. Had a few starts and stops, mostly in the plank work. I think that yesterdays chest work from P90X probably fatigued the muscles.
Patricia, WTG on getting that workout done, and burning those calories. ;) Glad to hear that the sleepover was good for both of the boys. I have the same issues with my DH, I would love to have a more organized basement. :( Have you started the BFFM rotation? I noticed that you are doing the GS workouts, so wonderded of you had started.
Kim, AS really is a one that you need to have clear thinking on isn't it. :eek: Oh my on your dd taking a wrong turn, that had to be a bit scarry for her. I'm on a P90X / Insanity Hybrid rotation right now, so far so good. Only two days down! :rolleyes:
Have a wonderful day!
Evening All
Just finished up LIC - cardio timesaver. Do love that one. I attended a Health & Wellness seminar at work today. It was "advertised" as being about Kettlebells but the guy talked mainly about consistancy and intensity. You could tell he was trying to promote the full body type workouts and less traditional strength training but if you didn't understand already what he was saying I think you would have been lost. He even brought 2 KB and didn't get around to demonstrating them until the seminar was over. Then it got fun.:D I got to practice a swing and I won one of his DVDs. I watched a bit of it tonight. Most of it looked like you could do with a DB. Anyhow, there is talk of him running a 12 week program at work so if he does I'd seriously look into it.
Laurie - Funny you should ask about BFFM. I leant my copy to my GF on the weekend. I was about 1/3rd finished reading it then it got tucked in a drawer during all the house showings and never came back out:D I'm 2-1/2 weeks thru the Dec06 rotation that uses GS along with the Sash series. I'm surprised at the tough workouts you're doing after all that hard yard work this weekend. OUCH:eek:
Yikes Kim on the wrong turn. I guess she learned her lesson to stay with her own group (which kind of s**cks I'm sure). I'm sure that wasn't a phone call you were expecting from the new school either! She'll probably be the most watched kid after this though!
Off to look for a snack.
Morning Coolers,
P90X Shoulders & Arms is finished for today, will get in 1:1 Killer Abs after work. Didn't have enough time this morning to finish both. Little hard getting out of bed this morning, was a little tired. I remember this happening when I first tried P90X and the Phase 1 eating plan, but it got better after a while.
Patricia, That would be wonderful if you could have a scheduled class, would it be a kb class? Hope your GF gets a lot of info out of BFFM, really do like all the information that is enclosed in that book. I'm surprised that I wasn't as sore after all the yardwork, guess even though I thought I had been slacking lately, I really have been doing ok.
Kim, Hope you are having a great day!
Talk Later,
Morning Coolers,
Insanity Pure Cardio for me this morning, dang tough workout! I feel great afterwards though. :eek: 1:1 Killer Abs was finished last night too, so all caught up on my exercises.
Going to oldest DD's cross country meet tonight, and it should be really nice weather to run in. Last year was rainy and cold.
Have a great day!
Sorry I didn't get to check in yesterday, busy with cleaning and then meeting with the realtors. They seem to think the house would sell quickly and didn't really have any suggestions to change anything. They told me that the house was very clean;)
The plan is to list the house on November 1st with open houses on Nov 6th and 7th and take offers on November 9th. We are putting a possesion date of Feb 28th and the new house is supposed to be ready mid January. So a bit of a cushion in case the new house is late. The new house was inspected (electrical etc) by the city and needs one change and then they will start the insulation/drywall once the drywall is done then they will give us a confirmed possession date.
Now that we have got organzied, I'm booking our winter holiday for the first week of December. I think we're going to go to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Anyone been there?? It's early for a winter holiday but I want to keep Janaury/Feb free for the move.
Started week 4 of the Sept rotation with High Step Training Advance this morning. Looking forward to seeing what the October rotation is.
Laurie, You're doing some hard workouts this week no wonder you're tired!! My dd decided not to do her cross country meet. The Grades 3-5 do only one meet and it was today, after her experience on Monday (and none of friends were going) she didn't want to go. I didn't push her, she is so shy and has had so many changes this fall with the new school but I was disappointed as she's a great runner and would have done well. DS was supposed to have a meet this evening (Grade 6-8) but wanted to keep his legs fresh for hockey tryouts which start tomorrow:rolleyes::rolleyes: I know that hockey is so important to him so I didn't push him either.
How did your dd do at her cross-country meet??
Patricia The LIC dvd is a fun one isn't it! That would be great if you could do a 12 week session of kettlebells at work. I do have some kettlebells and one dvd but don't really use them much.
