~~~~Coolers in February~~~
Morning Coolers,
Pure Cardio is finished, and I decided that I will do CTX Biceps & MIS Biceps tomorrow. :D Pure Cardio is a tough workout, it is 15 exercises. You do each exercise for one minute, and there are no breaks (unless you need to). Before we started the workout, Shaun said he was scared. I totally agreed. :D LOVED the workout though. :eek:
Kim, Sorry to hear that you need to wait for your eye surgery. :( Have a great time with your house hunt. :D
Patricia, Enjoy your shopping, to bad it was so cold. :( At least you can enjoy being away from work.
Have a great day!
Laurie, Pure Cardio was my favourite workout of the first month of Insanity. I enjoyed having less repetition of exercises. What do you think of the warmups and stretchs?
Patricia, we will have to build so won't be able to move till the fall:( I'm leaning to the most recent design that I posted (Randall Homes), we meet with the builder last night and got all the details. We are going to go ahead and meet with the builder of the other design we liked (on Sunday) before we make a final decision. We definitely will finish the basement and make a designated workout area, any ideas for flooring??
Sounds like you found some interesting things to do in Florida. We always just stay at the Disney hotels and do all the touristy things, you really spend more time exploring and shopping.(and working out!) We always seem to be at the theme parks from early morning to late night and then fly home.
I don't really know much about this eye growth, they are going to phone about an appointment with the opthalamologist at the hospital. Sounds like it's something that should be investigated whether I'm interested in laser or not.
Just back from dinner. We went to Benihana's for dinner. It's Japense and they cook right in front of you. We sat with another family so was a nice dinner meeting others and it was fun watching someone else cook:D
Laurie - I forgot to let you know that the guys didn't get home from the race until 11pm. 2 hour delay to the race on a cold day! Yikes but they still enjoyed it. Better them then me:D I found at Marshalls today those w/os for $20 and waffled about buying them. Good thing I didn't as we're having a hard time fitting everything as it is into our suitcases:cool:
Kim - I may be working out but I've not really done any cardio so I'll be in for a shock next week:rolleyes: Sounds like you're moving forward now on the house. Once you make a final decision then the real fun begins. Oh, the stress over the colours...
My mom returned home from Phoenix on Friday, so I took her to the two showhomes yesterday. She wasn't much help as she liked both designs. She did have a few observations that I wouldn't have thought about. It was good to get her opionion. We're meeting with the second builder today and hopefully will move forward from there.
My triceps are so sore from disc 19 on Friday. I had forgot about the double waving loading! Today is disc 20, legs, I've come to dread those trisets! Then will watch the USA vs Canada hockey game!
Are you home now Patricia?
Are you on a rest day after the first week of Insanity Laurie?
DS had his first shutout ( no goals in) in 3.5 years. He has played goalie for 5 years and had 2 shutouts early in his careeer. So he was pretty excited!
Morning Ladies,
Cardio Power & Resistance, CTX Chest and MIS Chest are finished. Sunday was a lot of running around, and when I got home I took the dog for an hour long walk. She had a great time sniffing everything. Saturday was Plyo Cardio Circuit, CTX & MIS Biceps & Triceps.
Kim, Always nice to have anther set of eye looking at things that you might miss. How does you Mom like coming back from the nice warm weather? Or is it cold in AZ too. ;) Let me see, Shaun's warm-ups get my HR higher than some regular workouts that I have done. :eek: :D But as I have been doing them, I'm able to get a little faster each time. The stretches are pretty good, and I'm glad that the stetches are all standing. By the time he is having you do stetches with your head lower than your heart, my HR is at a normal pace. Congrats for you DS and his shut-out. Guess that hockey game was a bit of a disapointment for you DH & DS?
Patricia, I found a Taebo workout at Marshall's that I wanted, but didn't buy. Guess I felt I have to much already. :D Has it gotten any warmer for you?
Have a great day!
We made a decision, I think, we talked about it for hours yesterday. We're going to put an offer in on the Randall home, the last plan I posted. Part of the reason is that they have the only available lot adjacent to the park. Still lots of bridges to cross, there is another family interested in that lot, lawyers, banks etc so nothing for sure yet.
Just finished MMA kickboxing and the heavy bag bonus. DD came to join me wearing her fashion boots and she announced that she was Chalean from CLX, LOL Yesterday she did all of meso 2 legs with me! I was quite impressed, today she's complaining of sore arms (from the leg workout) I guess from holding the weights.
Well you seem to be enjoying Shaun T's workouts, Laurie, I thought he would be your style. I still feel so guilty as it's the only rotation that I ever started and never finished:eek::eek: I vow one day to finish it!
Mom, said it wasn't bad in Phoenix. She went down with 2 of her sisters, 1 BIL and one brother. They swam some so couldn't have been too cold. She brought us a bag of oranges that she picked the day she left.
The hockey game was the most watched tv event in canadian history:rolleyes: It was disappointing but we're not out of it yet!
Patricia, are you home yet??
Morning Coolers
Yes, back in Canada and back at work:( Actually 2 weeks is enough of a break so I don't feel too bad and yesterday actually wasn't too hectic! We got home late afternoon Sat. An uneventful trip thankfully. Sunday, other then working out I stayed in my p.j.s:eek: I did Level one of Shred then the standing portion of B&Gutts.
DH started working out with me last night so we did Level one of Shred again and that was just enough for him. He will try about 3 times a week and maybe on the weekend I was thinking of doing a walking w/o with him. He didn't mind Jillian and the w/o was straightforward. It was funny as the whole family was crammed into my w/o room. DS was playing under our feet.
Kim - DH watched the game and was disappointed. I guess we have to win against Germany tonight but I think the ladies are in the finals Thursday so we did our part:D That's great that you made a decision. Hope all works out for you. Being next to a park would be a great location too. LOL at your DD. DS last night asked why DH wasn't riding his bike instead of working out with me. It's great when the whole family gets involved. High 5 on the shut-out. DH was a goalie for years too and hopes that DS doesn't want to be b/c of the extra equipment to lug around. I wouldn't mind.
Laurie - I was worried for DH with the Shred w/o b/c you're up then down on the floor and back up but he just took his time getting up and down and he said he was fine with that. Insanity scares me when you say the WU gets your HR up so fast enough so that I'm not regretting not buying it:D I finally saw an infomercial for it here in Canada this weekend. I've only ever seen one for CLX once too. Is it on down there often?
Tonight I think NMTZ is on tap.
Oh, one of DS's JK classmate's Father is a policeman so I guess he came in to the class and talked about safety and 911 and showed them his police car. So last night DS is all worried about Badguys and where they live and now he is scared:mad: I told him I would drive him by the police station on the weekend and the jail so he'd know where the badguys lived when they were on timeout:eek:
Morning Coolers,
Pure Cardio, CTX & MIS Back are all finished. I was actually able to make it through the whole 10 min. warm up without having to stop. I was even going a bit faster on the third round. :eek:
Kim, Hope you are able to get the lot, it sounds like a great spot. Oh yes all the paper work that you need to go through. For a world that is suppose to be going paperless, there sure is a lot when you purchase a new home or build. ;) The Insanity workouts do have some dread factor to them, but once I get going and get them finished, I feel so accomplished. LOL about your DD, she sure does like to workout. That is so great.
Patricia, Welcome back! :D Your DH should do really well with the Shred. How heavy is he going with the weights? Insanity infomercials are on all the time. And they follow them up with P90X. :eek: The workout I did today always gets my HR over my target zone. I'm usually working out at around 85-90% of my tz. LOL about your DS and the badguys, but I'm sure it wasn't fun that he was scared.
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Just completed NMTZ and need to get mine and DS's lunches ready for tomorrow. I hear DH just getting home now from snow mobiling. I haven't asked him yet how he is feeling after his w/os last night.:D:D
Laurie - DH has a shoulder injury he has to pay attention to so he is mainly using my 2-4s at the moment, especially since most of the moves are unfamiliar to him. Shred combines legs and arms at once and that takes co-ordination 1st + flexibility which he doesn't have:p He hasn't excercised in 10yrs and even then it was more like hockey, cycling or x-country skiing. He won't tell me his weight but I'd guess he needs to lose 100#s so we're just taking it easy and I'm not pushing! LOL.
Hope you had a great day Kim.
Take care,
Morning Coolers,
Plyo Cardio Circuit and CTX/MIS Shoulders are finished.
Patricia, I understand about a DH not exercising in years. My DH is the same. He did start, and then his foot started to hurt. I will have to ask him how resting his foot went. Maybe he will get going again.
Kim, Congrats on the new house! Does that mean that you got the lot you wanted?
Have a great day!
Yes, we got the lot close to the park and are building the split level with the laundry moved to the basement. The mortgage got approved today. Goodness, the real estate business moves quickly! It's going to take me awhile to get used to the whole idea! I'm feeling more sick than excited at this point.
Patricia It sounds like you're well rested from your holiday! Hope your DH is feeling okay after his workout, do you enjoy working out with him?? Did your ds have any nightmares about the bad guys?? Don't worry about moving the goalie equipment, worry about paying for it:rolleyes::rolleyes: Any more news on your move?
Laurie, I'm impressed that your adding on to your Insanity workouts! Have your dd's tried one of the workouts with you yet??
I missed yesterday's workout as we were at the resl estate agent for 3 hours! Today it's so cold outside, and I feel like I'm missing out on the Olympics and spending time with the kids. DS really wanted to watch the hockey game so we skipped swimming lessons (and my workout) and we are cuddled on the couch watching Canada beat Russia 7-3! Got to run as the third period is starting!
Morning Coolers,
Cardio Recovery and CTX/MIS Biceps is finished.
Kim, Wonderful that you have the lot you wanted, and all I can say is enjoy the whirl wind. :D If you have the laundry in the basement, do they have the laundry shoots? Our house plan had those in the strangest places, so we nixed them. Nope the DD's have not tried a workout yet. My oldest is in training right now for track, so she doesn't need to do the additional workouts. The youngest just gives me a look when I mention it. :D Of course that would mean she has to get up a lot earlier than she does now. ;)
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Watching Survivor and posting on the commercial. Went out for dinner last night with the girls from work so didn't get my w/o in. I needed a rest b/c I don't think JM is warming me up enough for her w/os. My shoulder is sore from all the plank work from NMTZ. DId cardio today so I feel a lot loser.
DH and I did Biggest Loser Cardio Max - level 1. Then I did the step portion only from SJP afterwards.
Kim - Congrats on the house. Oh, the fun begins now with choosing colours. What is the anticipated close date? I guess you will spending the summer purging your house and get it ready to go on the market too:) Hopefully I'll be done b/4 you:p
I saw a little bit of the hockey game last night and so far the ladies tonight beating the U.S. Yeah, but so sorry Laurie:p
Somehow I ended up with a 3 day rest instead of 1, oh well, I really felt like I needed it. I don't really feel that guilty as I never took the full recovery week after Meso 1. But will get going again with the last week of Meso 2 today.
DS has an appt to do a breathing test to reassess the asthma meds. Hopefully it all goes well, to me he seems fine so hopefully the dr thinks so too.
Another hockey game to watch tonight.
Any big plans for the weekend??
Morning Coolers,
Cardio Power & Resistance and CTX/MIS Triceps is finished. These workouts are getting better and better. Not as tired as I was last week. :D I think that I need to find something to drink besides water, because I'm sweating so much. I was looking at this Power Bar Endurance drink, and will investigate more today.
Patricia, I had to add in some stetching to my Jillian rotation, because I could feel the muscles needed it. Don't worry about me and hockey, I'm not a big fan. :eek: Although some of the girls on the team are from Wisconsin. ;)
Kim, Will your DS grow out of his asthma? Bet he does great, after all he was doing Insanity! :eek: I can understand your having a three day rest, you have been pretty busy with the new house. ;)
No big plans for us this weekend, and I'm happy. Oldest DD is going over to visit a new "boy" friend tonight. Youngest DD is going with a friend on Sunday afternoon to have some fun. Will get in a workout on Saturday, and Sunday is my rest day. Will be watching the Nascar race though. :D
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Just finished up NMTZ along with some extra stretching. Quiet day here, the hockey game just starting I think. Have a haircut appt tomorrow and the Real Estate agent is coming by in the afternoon to talk about listing the house. Going to try and get out on the ski doo sometime this weekend.
Laurie - I think I'm going to mix JM with some other stuff next week. Still not feeling loose enough. Plus I have to plan around DH working out with me too. I have to be careful that I push myself when I do the easy stuff with him;)
Kim - I'm starting to not take my rotation too seriously anymore (can you tell:p) and work with what time and energy you have.
Enjoying time in my pj's and sipping coffee. Love the weekends:p:p
Not too much on the plan today, dd has swimming and then I'm babysitting my nephews (ages 3 &6) fro a couple of hours.
Workout scedule calls for 30/30 and STS abs.
Dr's appt with ds went really well! His test was better than 6 weeks ago even on the less strong medication. So will stick with it and try to even lower the dosage in a month. Spring is always a hard time so will see what happens though.
Laurie, my understanding is that you never grow out of asthma but when the teens get their growth spurt the growth allows them to handle the asthma better so less symptoms. Often they will start to have trouble again as older adults. The catch is that being on preventative medications stunt the growth so they their growth is delayed. Enjoy some relaxing time this weekend! I'll be watching the hockey rather than the Nascar on sunday.
Patricia Kind of a boring hockey game yesterday but that's okay we'll take a boring win! Lots of medals for canada last night! Will you be actually starting to show the home soon?? Good for you for not taking your rotations so seriously I know I should do that too:rolleyes: I ordered my sister the IMAX2/Cardio & Weights dvd for her birthday in March. Imax 2 is my favourite Cathe workout of all time so hopefully she likes it, she's a regular gym goer but looking for just a couple of workouts to do at home when she's at home on weekends/holidays since her gym is close to her work (a long drive from home)
