Collarbone area pain

So for the last 2 months or so i've been having some minor pain that started on the right side of my neck and over time has moved to my collarbone. It feels like it's in the muscles underneath my collarbone on the right side. I can shrug my shoulders and turn my head...it mostly hurts when i let my arms hang limp at my side or..as i just realized, when i do pushups.

I initially thought it was from my pillow but after switching a million times the pain has not subsided. Recently, I decided to start that "100 pushups" program, and as i was just doing the initial test, the pain was much more severe under my collarbone, and now i'm wondering if that's how i injured it in the first place. Has anyone ever heard of this or had this problem? Is it poor form? Should i stop doing pushups? I really haven't done many lately anyways, but the pain is still here. And yes, i've tried heat, ibuprofen, etc. It helps temporarily but then it comes right back.

I haven't seen a doc about it just mostly cause it's not super severe most of the time and i figured maybe only losing weight would get rid of it. I dunno. Any ideas or input would be appreciated.

does it span the length of the entire collar bone? it sounds like it may be your scalene muscles. has anything else changed in your routine besides the pushup challenge? Can you describe how the pain feels a bit more: stabbing, achy, electrical, etc. I'm a physical therapist so hopefully i can help.
