Clean and Tidy (ish) Sunday, 15 July

4:00 and no one has started today? We must all be tidying today.

I was really craving chocolate so I decided I would have some. I went to a store that sells stuff in bulk and bought just enough malt balls and chocolate covered raisins. I am thinking that I should allot one day a week (Sat or Sun) to be my "cheat day" and have whatever I want.

I have had some tendonitis in my hip and really want it to heal so I haven't worked out since Friday. I am going away this Wednesday and won't be back until late Tuesday night and am thinking I am going to take that whole time off to try and heal completely. I am debating not working out Mon, Tues or Weds either. We'll see...my rest days don't usually end up being rest days because I get antsy.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

So far, I think that's my favorite recipe from the book (but I haven't tried that many). I really liked it a lot. Maybe your kids will be more forgiving with this one than they were with the soybean loaf!!! Rob makes fun of me for that one! I liked it.

Let me know how it turns out!

I'll join in today! Here's my day so far... And my exercise was a 16.5 mile early hilly bike ride.

Liquids ~ 100 oz water, 2 cups of coffee

Breakfast (after biking) ~ Protein pancakes w/ NM PB & triple berries; vanilla yogurt w/ more berries

Snack ~ Banana w/ the kids during Children's church

Lunch ~ Big salad w/ romaine, spinach, brocc cole slaw, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, turkey, boiled egg whites, light rasp. vinaigrette

Dessert/ afternoon snack ~ Fudgy PB chip Vitatop w/ NM PB, berries w/ a few squirts Reddi whip :p

Snack/ dinner ~ Usual oatmeal w/ blueberries (my fridge is about to burst w/ berries! :))

Jess, Kudos to you for a clean day! Wish I could say the smae but at least it was tidy. We had a bunch of company for lunch and one of my guests brought a peach crisp. At least I got the fresh peaches and there was oatmeal in the crisp part. Not the worst splurge ever. She apologized for not bringing something chocolate but I was glad she didn't. I can't say no to that! Lorie, it sounds like you can't either!

Other than the crisp I've done great today. I even skipped on the homemade cin. rolls w/ homemade icing that I SLAVED over for our company this morning. I had my Kashi and banana instead! I was very proud of myself. Dinner was the same as breakfast. I made a HUGE lasagna for lunch. I mostly had the (very-lean)meat sauce and I use low-fat cheese. Had fruit and salad too, so all in all, not too bad today.

Water intake is always easy for me and I've been getting my workouts in regularly so I'm pretty happy w/ things right now. In fact i need to sign off so I can go do Butts & Hutts. My DDs always giggle like crazy about the name of that one. The 3-yo. thinks its esp. funny. When she says it I have to giggle too.

Hopefully the lack of posts here doesn't mean we've all fallen off the wagon this weekend! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

My eating has been crappy. I've only been doing short pre-mix workouts. I've lost 2 pounds !???! Go figure. I'll be back tomarrow with another start at eating clean. Night all.

Hi guys, sorry I'm late. Boy, the ranks sure do get thin here on the weekends don't they?

Lorie - It sounds like the time off is well timed. I hope you heal quickly. Maybe some calamari would make you feel better...just kidding :p!

Phyllis - I have yet to try quinoa. I don't tend to be a rice, pasta or grain fan...although you will NOT tear me away from my oats! I know everyone here raves about it.

Jess - I know what you mean about the berries. I've got strawberries, wild blackberries, and blueberries coming out my ears...that made for an interesting mental picture LOL. It's too bad berry season is so short ;(.

Kate - Oh boy, peach crisp sounds wonderful. I wouldn't worry too much..."Butts & Hutts" should take care of it. I just hope you don't end up looking like Jabba the "Hutt" :+ :p!

Robin - I like your new pic. Congrats on the weight loss! That happens to me on occasion, too. Eat like s#!t, miss the workouts, step on scale, cringing in fear, look at number in disbelief, scratch head, step on again because it must be wrong, nope, same number???? One of life's mysteries?

Well, I was doing wonderfully at the horse show. I always pack my cooler with all the "weird" stuff I eat so that I don't fall victim to horse show fast food (YUCK!) and was nibbling here and there. I was so proud of myself for resisting the giant candy bowl in the office. Oh, that was until someone emptied a giant bag of mini Reese's PB cups into one of them. That's when I lost it...I think I scarfed down like six of the nasty little buggers over the course of the next fiftenn minutes. Evil creatures they are!!! After that I didn't have time to eat anything for the rest of the day and just now, at 7:30, sat down to eat my "lunch"...oh well x(.

Unfortunately, I can't say that I'll do better tomorrow because....

VACAY!!!!!!!!!! I won't go nuts but I do intend to enjoy myself. My SO and I are very, very bad together...we LOVE going out to eat and I'm sure we will have our fill of lobster and steamers by the time we get back. I know for sure I will be visiting the hotel treadmill daily to try to keep the damage to a minimum.

See you all Thursday night!

Wendi,

I think all beets are off and calories don't count when you are on vacation. You can eat whatever you want (including lots and lots of calamari!). ;) ;) ;)
