CHEETAHS MONDAY 7/9

Cathlete
Good Morning ladies,

I am up to do my workout of the day. I am doing an UB workout from an istrength ( i just can't stay away from those:D ) I am also going to do spin today at the YM location.

wendy- thank you so much. trust me, you will too! remember if you have any questions or need any help, just ask!

have a great day ladies:)

Morning, cheetahs! :) How is everyone this Monday morning?

Sunny :: I think it's no surprise to any of us here what your answer to that question would be! :D Your enthusiasm and love of what you do shine through in all your posts. Enjoy your spin and u/b iStrength.

Today is yoga for me - I'll probably do the Kathy Smith New Yoga DVD ~ it's been ages ~ but I'm saving it for the evening. I expect to be nice & loose after this afternoon's chiro appt. :D

For the next four mornings, I'll be in classes for the new certification I'm pursuing. I'm excited and nervous about getting the ball rolling.

Monday means the start of a fresh week for me, so I have to re-focus my efforts on calorie control here. May the force be w/ me!! *lol*

Have a great day! BBL

Good Morning Cheetahs.

Sunny: I still haven't gotten to break out my IStrength work out. I did the ab section once. That's it. LOL I will get to it eventually though.

Cathy: Good luck w/your classes this week, girl! I know you'll do great! So what's the work out plan for today?

I have GSC&T and ab work on tap for today.

So I downloaded my 3 newest Itrains. I have officially taken all of the music off my Ipod so it's STRICTLY ITrain work outs and I am STILL about to run out of room on it! *GASP!* I purchased the 1 gig nano right before they stopped selling it. I may have to buy the new 2 gig and transfer my work outs on to it and then I can use the 1 gig for music. OMG! I am such an ITrain addict! LOLOL }( .... I have also seen "re-furbed" ipods for sale at stores online. I wonder how that works? Can I "trade in" my current Ipod and get a new BIGGER one for less money?? If I did that I would go for the BIG GUNS...the 4 gig!}( I'll have to investigate my options I guess. :+

ETA: I just checked out the Apple site...apparently the refurbs are just returned ipods so I can't do that BUT I can get a big one for less $ if I go refurb so I will probably do that and then I can sell mine on ebay or amazon perhaps.

BBL!

Hey, Wendy! Workout will be yoga later, after the chiro.

Don't know much about the refurbing or any pitfalls to it, but that sounds like a good way to go to save money. You might even consider waiting to purchase a new device until we see what Cathe is unveiling. I recall a thread recently (on Ask Cathe, I think) where folks were asking SNM about 6G and 8G Video iPods. I can't imagine that the new workout formats would *only* be available to those with Video players, but I'm curious about how much gig space is needed for whatever she's rolling out.

Wendy-I'm right up there with you on being addicted to iTrain! Guess what I did this weekend? I bought the Year's Resolution Package, which gives me 3 new workouts of my choice, per month, for A WHOLE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL We need an intervention!

Well, I was MIA this weekend due to DS's baseball tournament! They placed 2nd, and had an AWESOME weekend! It was long and very very hot, but the kids did great and more importantly for DS, he broke a bad slump he was in. He's been having 'issues' at the plate, getting a case of stage fright, and he'd been standing there watching 3 strikes go right past him. It was frustrating to see. BUT....in the final game last night, he hit a BOMB to center field!! I mean a BOOOOOOOOOMB! That thing took right off his bat and just flew. BUT...they had their center fielder way back and he caught it, but our whole crowd was cheering for Jacob because he finally made contact and got out of that horrible slump. (sorry to ramble about baseball).

I think it was Cathy who asked how I was doing since the break up. Answer::::: VERY WELL! We had another chat last night and it is DEFINITELY OFFICIALLY over. Know what? No tears, no second-guessing myself, no fears. All confidence and strength, so I KNOW it was the right thing for me and my boys. AND........we've been broken up for what? 2 weeks? And somebody has asked me out for later this week! lol I feel like a girl in high school once again. It's weird, but it's FUUUNNNNNNNNN! LOL

OH....workout....this morning started week 4 of BBC. I did arms & abs and the TM cardio. My treadmill is giving me problems, so I'm going to have a friend come over and help me try to fix it on our own. I NEED MY TM for all my new iTrain workouts! LOL

BBL

G'morning Cheetahs! It was Core Syn for me this morning, guess what... I'm on day 86!!!! My final day is Friday for my 90 days!!! I'll definitely post my before/ after shots. Greg has kind of fizzled out in the last couple weeks, but he's still planning on at least doing 2 workouts a week even after the 90 days. He's been busy & this week we have VBS every night so that will make it impossible for him to work out. My kiddos are very excited about VBS & I'm so proud of them for inviting all of their friends to come. Looks like I'll be the carpool Mom w/ a van load of kids! We're teaching the 1-3rd graders so we'll have Kiersten & Hannah in our group. Allison is super excited that now since she's 4 she gets to go to her own class!

Went for a 23 mile bike y'day w/ my buddies. Beautiful morning! Then to church and the usual Sunday stuff. ;-)

So now I'm catching up laundry & everything else that seems to pile up on the weekends. :p My kiddos are still asleep & it's 8AM!! They're still worn out from the cookout/ fireworks on Sat night. They didn't get to bed til about 10:30 which is a very late night for them! It was lots of fun though!

Must get to work, I'll be back later! ;-)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I never feel like anything you ask is ever a pain...and getting a break from painting is nice! I really never mind any questions...and I think the $219 at Amazon is a GOOD deal...Good Luck with the classes.

Sunny..I never minded the heat much until I got older. Also we have just a bit more humidity and I am much more used to dry conditions so that drains ya! Way to go getting all those certifications. Enjoy your iStrength and spin today.

Wendy...hope you can get a bigger iPod for all your iTrains...Have fun with your GS workout.

Gayle...I bought the iTrain yearly package last Aug! Glad you are surviving the break-up and still talking. Now you can jump back into the dating world...:)...hope you get your TM fixed.

Jess...good job with Core Syn and getting to day 86!!! 23 miles on a bike is one good ride.

I am doing Jari's Ripped to the Core and 30 min on my EXT. I would like to squeeze in some Pilates as this is a modified recovery week, bu not sure I will have time.

We are going to buy our laminate wood flooring today as this is the day Costco has it on sale. $5 off every box! Not sure how soon we will get it in, but it'll be nice to have it here...:)

Have a great day

Good morning ladies!

Thanks everyone on my race.

Judy - Sorry thunder & lightning spoiled your golf game.

Christine - Great job on the 4.5 miles after a 4 month layoff. Jimmy does know he's gorgeous.

Wendy - You will do great in your race on Saturday. What's your goal? I have the 30 gig Zen. It's kind of big to run with but it doesn't bother me. And, it's usually only once a week. The other runs, it's just attached to my treadmill. I have videos, iTrain and playlists on it and still have plenty of room.

Cathy - I got my Garmin through Amazon and if I remember correctly, no shipping and taxes. Love mine too. Enjoy your yoga and chiro visti. Good luck with your certification classes.

Sunny - I'm celebrating 3 years of running this month. When I started, I never thought I would be able to run 30 minutes straight. Now, I've done 10 miles. Congratulations on your many certifications. I would definitely feel like I was in good hands with you.

Gayle - I think the iTrain Resolutions package is the way to go if you use the workouts a lot. I got mine before the price went up. Congratulations to DS on his game. Glad you feel good!

Jess - Good job on P90X! My how the time flies! Nice bike ride yesterday.

Carole - Enjoy your workout today and your recovery week. Nice sale on the flooring.

I did Power & Grace and S&H Biceps and Abs. I added 3 pound dumbbells to Power & Grace and got a little extra arm work in. I've been struggling with a cold or sinuses all weekend. I don't feel bad but am stuffy and sneezing lots. Didn't sleep well last night. This workout was perfect.

Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Hey gang - quick post for me now and I'll be back later.

This past couple of weeks have been unbelievably busy. I don't think we've been home except long enough to do the laundry. We never ate at home, that's for sure.

My question for you all is this - I haven't been able to run this whole past week :-( x( :-( do you think if I pick up where I left off on my HM training I'll still be OK? I figured my long runs I might have to walk a little, but I'm hoping that I can just pick up where I left off? What do you think?

Thanks, be back soon.

Marcia.

P.S. I hope the rest of you have cool days, but it's hotter than hades here!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

How was your weekends? Are you having a great Monday morning?

All is great here, thanks! I was planning on getting up at 5:30AM to do an early track run but when I did get up it was raining.

SO.....after my crazy partying in Boston on Sat night with DH and friends, I decided to stay in bed until 9AM today. Then I got up and did the entire Kick Max DVD!!!!!!!
This was my first time completing the whole thing. WOW, what a workout.

Since it was raining this AM, and still looks kind of crappy, I decided to keep it indoors.

Tomorrow AM I am getting up nice and early for that run! 3-4 miles for me, because I do not want to overtrain (as we discussed earlier).

Also, I wanted to thank a few of you lovely ladies for congratulating me on my new marriage! DH and I leave for our honeymoon to Hawaii this Saturday, for 2 weeks. So, I will be gone from this forum :(

BUT.....I will be relaxing which is always nice!

Judy - Thunder and lightening would keep me away from the golf game also - better luck next time!

Sunny - Love your certifications! Congrats! I would love to have my AFAA Primary Group Cert this year. I have to get my butt in gear and take the class!

Christine - Great job on your run!!!! My goal is to get to 5 miles by the end of this summer! I want to start some road races in the fall!

Wendy - I am assuming that the tat is all healed up. What other tats do you have, now that I have shared mine?
Good luck with your personal training jobs to come too!

Cathy - Enjoy the relaxing Yoga! I teach Yoga to kids every day at the summer camp I work at. They love it. They love the meditation that I do on them, which I love and could fall asleep too also!

Gayle - Congrats to your son! That must have been such a proud parent moment for you!

Jess - Your bike ride! WOW! You must be in amazing shape for 23 miles!!! Good for you!

Carole - Have a great workout today! How long will you do your recovery? For the whole week I am assuming? Enjoy!

Jackie - Hope you feel better soon. Sinuses hurt, especially when you are working out! Hope your sleep is better too.

Ladies - I am going to order Cathe's 4 Day Split DVD series! I am excited! I wonder when it will be mailed out to us? Oh the suspense! :)

Take care everyone, and enjoy your day! I hope I can check in tomorrow AM with a good running update!

-Amy

Well, ladies! It's official! I *FINALLY* mailed off my P/T exam! *gnaws on fingernails nervously* The guy at the post office had to pry the envelope out of my hot sweaty little hands!*just kidding!*
So Sunny...do you REALLY think it'll take 4-6 weeks to get the results back!?!? I sure hope not! I don't think I could stand it for that long!!!! LOL

Wendy- the ones that told me 4-6 weeks took about 4 weeks:( . i have no idea why it takes that long. i think they just want to torture you}( . i just love how they tell you DO NOT call within that timeframe. you will be just fine!

jackie- congrats on your 3 years! i am the same way kinda fell into running by accident:)

amy- have fun on your honeymoon!

Hello again.

Just finished my work out...}(ARX}( + GSC&T supersets premix.

It's the first time I've ever done that premix and I liked it. I had to shorten it up today cause I got started later then planned. I will be doing a shorter premix of both GSC&T and BS&B 2x this week as a result. Due to a busy weekend ahead, I will only have time to work legs once this week so I'll do the full work out for that one instead of one of the timesavers.

Marcia: Thanks girl! I appreciate the good vibes! I sure hope you are right!:)

Sunny: Oh phooey on 4 weeks! I was hopin' to get the results back before I leave for vacation at the end of the month!:p LOL Well, atleast it's done! I am very thankful for that! :)

BBL to catch up on the rest of the personals!:+

I'm such a dork. I totally wanted to do a Cathe step workout so I pulled out LowMax and did it w/ the 8 lb medicine ball for the blasts like AquaJock had posted a while back. LOVED it!! It was just the *Cathe fix* that I needed. Now I'm sweaty & in need of another shower! Sorry no time for personals, must get things ready for VBS tonight! Hope you're all having a good one!!

Hola, cheetahs :)

Back from the chiro…feeling oddly a little sleepy…but will get to yoga in a bit. Would you believe I have *homework* tonight??? Today’s class went well – very informative as the certification process begins rolling. There’s SO much information to absorb. And get this – we were thinking 4-6 weeks is a long time to wait for results? For this process, it’s even worse! Four portfolio entries are due by the end of March, you complete a computerized assessment in June, but then you don’t find out how you did until *November* -- at the earliest! Now is that not crazy-insane??? *lol*

Wendy :: ALL RIGHT ~ it's in the mail!!! Looking forward to celebrating your official PT status soon!!!…BTW, correction to my earlier comment ~ I saw the iPod thread again, and SNM was recommending 30 or 60 gig iPods for those who want to view full workouts. If you are doing audio only, apparently a Nano would be fine…I love the GS series and don’t think I’ve ever done *any* of the premixes. Will keep it in mind for when I get back to those.

Gayle :: what a great moment that was for Jacob ~ thanks for sharing…Glad to hear you are doing so well post-breakup…Rock on!!! :D

Jess:: woo-hoo! Almost to the end. Know you rocked it, girl, and are gonna have AWESOME pics to share…What is VBS?

Carole:: I took the plunge ~ I bought the 305! I was not planning on upgrading yet – esp. not in the summer when the paychecks have temporarily ceased -- but I know my dad will love having all the pace/distance info at his fingertips, and I will enjoy not having to wear two devices…sounds like some great renovations are going on at your place. I love the hardwood look!

Jackie:: Hope you can nip that in the bud!

Marcia:: I would not skip the week of training, if that’s what you mean. I would back up and do the week you missed.

Amy:: Hawaii for two weeks sounds wonderful ~ enjoy!! KM is a great workout…I have come close to dozing off a couple of times when taking a live yoga class…the last studio I went to, though, had a thing for gongs…I just could not “let go” while those things were clanging away. *lol* Yoga with the kids must be fun ~ how old are they? Elem?…I can’t wait for the new w/outs, too!!

Sunny:: enjoy the k’boxing class tonight! Will be curious to know what that’s like. Love how you've got such great variety in all that you do and have no problem plunging into anything.

Hi to Christine and Shelly (Are you OK???) and anyone else dropping in.

OK, better go do my homework! :p

Back to report that yoga is done. I did the standing poses + relaxation in New Yoga. Had not done that one in so long (owned the original on VHS) and loved being able to split up the workout like that. Ahh, chaptering! It's a beautiful thing. :D

NOW back to the homework...

Good Evening. I'm finally back to catch up on the day's chatter!:)

I have decided to hold off on the purchase of another ipod or other mp3 player for now. I will resign myself to rotating my Itrains. When I run out of space I will off-load some older ones to make room for the newer stuff and change it up every so often to keep it fresh until I decide what I want to buy. It'll be a bit more labor intensive but really it's not hard to do so I'll deal for now.

Gayle: I signed up for the yearly resolutions thingy w/Itrain a month ago. I hemmed and hawed over it for TOO long. I could have saved myself alot of cash already if I had done it sooner! UGH! :p

Jess: Glad you got your Cathe fix in! I needed that while doing the X as well. I mostly used Cathe for a 2nd leg day. :)

Carole: I am so jealous of your laminate flooring! I want that in the worst way but DH doesn't want to do it since we want to move. If we had done it right away we could have been enjoying it for 4 years now!!!! Grrrr! LOL

Jackie: I don't have a goal for my race. I'm just using it as motivation to run another 5 miler. My runs haven't gone beyond 4 miles for a long time now. I want to start pickin' up the mileage again.

Amy: The tat is ALMOST healed up but not quite. Stinks cause I have started having a reaction to the moisturizer I am using on it!x( It's odd cause I don't have sensitive skin like that nor do I tend to be allergic to much of anything! I appear to be breaking out and it itches like crazy!!! I know healing tats can itch but this isn't even the tatooed part. It's the skin AROUND it! ACK! Anywhooo....my other tats are a rose vine and a butterfly on my rear end and the word "bad" on my right hip.

Hello to everyone else!

Off to bed with me now....I'll be back in the morning ofcourse!:)
