::: CHEETAHS ::: feelin' oh-so-good this Friday

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! :7

Ahhhh, spring break has begun. I’m allowing myself a slow morning, and then I’ll begin tackling NB work. I’ll be writing most of the morning, and then later, I’ll need to drop off my films to have them converted to DVDs.

Happy belated b’day to Susan! Miss you, girl! Wishing you all the happiness you so deserve. Thinking of Mary, too. I hope that she is winning the fight.

Kath :: I am an extreme early bird, even on days off…:) about the snowball…I teach 8th grade language arts. I would love to be off skiing somewhere this week :7, but it’s cool…this year I need to do this.

Wendy :: I’ll be curious to see what you think of the Blanchard DVD…I’ve eyed it for some time but have held off. Think I’ve become hesitant with yoga vids because I’ve had so many misses…It’s only a matter of time before the bells getcha. }(

Kristi :: I have two portfolios to finish before the 31st. And many, many :) forms to organize—every page has to go in a particular order. :) After that, I will give myself some time off, but I’ll need to begin studying for the exam in June. Hope you enjoy your day off today. How’s the leg?

Carole :: yes, I am off all week…what a Godsend!…I have not had the eyebrows waxed, but I do get bikini waxes…I take two Aleve beforehand and find it not bad at all. I would think the eyebrows would sting no matter what, though.

Jackie :: oh, yes – DUH – I’m sorry. I do remember you mentioning the hip before.

Dallas :: hope that z-pack fixes you right up. How’s the studying going? Yes, I am off now until the 31st. Amen. :) I must have missed that you dropped some BF%. WTG!

Wendi :: hope you had a good day at work.

Hi to Christine, Shelly, Lorie, Sunny, Lori, Judy, Posh, Linda, and anyone else droppin' in.

Have a great day!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Thanks for starting us off today Cathy...enjoy your break!!!

My apologies for another fly by post. Work was later than expected and I didn't have time to get here before bowling. Had a good night for a change...yay!

Today is a scheduled rest day and a good thing, too...tons of riding to get done before I meet DSO for dinner tonight. I hope to catch up with everyone soon.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Glories!:D

Cathy: YAY for spring break! I hope you get tons accomplished today! I will let you know how the Blanchard dvd set is. If I don't like 'em, I'll sell 'em to ya!:p Aren't I a great friend? :7

Hello Wendi and Lorie!!!

Anywho...today's plan is a LONG run (last one before my 10 mile race at the end of the month!)and food shopping. That's it. Whatever else I do today is extra. Besides, DH has off today so that usually means I don't get much done. You know how those pesky DH's are!;) :p :7

Off to grab more java.

I'll pop back in later girls!

Morning!

Thought I'd stop in before my workout because our Spring break started as well. May not get here too much with the kids home all day. We will have a white Easter!!!! x( It's snowing right now. UGH!!! Carole, do you want it?!!? ;-) :+

Cathy ~ Thanks! Good luck hunkering down today and w/the film process. All you hard work is paying off. :) Well, I have the Mark Blanchard (read: nice discount ;-)) if you're interested. :) Just didn't click with me. :(

Susan ~ Happy Birthday too!!!

Wendi ~ Enjoy your relaxing dinner tonight!

Lorie ~ Have fun w/your workout! I read, I think it was y-day, that your hip is holding out just fine. What a relief, huh?

Wendy ~ Let us know what you think of them. All I have to say is that I felt hot while doing Mark's practice. He's doing yoga out in the desert. :+ Whew! Just thinking about it makes me sweaty. hee hee! Guess we can have a bidding war w/Cathy. }(

All righty - I did some personals y-day, so I think that about catches me up! I'll try and sneak in here and there, but I can't promise anything.

Happy Easter all!!! :)

Oh, I plan to run and do whatever the Classic rotation says for today. Oh, I think it's Plyo...that's not happening. LOL!:p A nice stretch after my run sounds better. :)

Dallas: Aw c'mon now girl! I thought you were a Cheetah AND a Catheite!? Any self-respecting Catheetah(LOLOL) would JUMP at the chance to do a run and plyo back to back! ;)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...sounds like you have the day planned well! I am so happy you have some time off, any plans? It was the aftermax of the brows that is bizarre. My eyes have a tendency to puff, so in the morning...wow!! The skin is still a bit red but not sore, it feels a bit like it got sunburnt!

Wendi..enjoy your rest day and have a great dinner with DSO.

Wendy...good score on the PP's for $20. I always prefer long runs on days DH is home...:D..I know just what you mean about not getting a lot done when they are home...

Dallas...sorry you were feeling yukky the other day. Tough to get thru a workout feeling that way, but I give you credit for doing so!! I think the mason twists are tough as they are the last exercise and your abs are fried by then! I would do it sitting on a small pillow as it hurt my tail bone, if I didn't. I will have to check out Clean Eating if I see it. I remember years ago I tried waxing my legs...IA..YEOW!!!! I will probably keep it up on my brows though. YES, I want your snow!!!! Enjoy your run and stretch.

Jackie...I am sure I will wax again, but we might try the cold wax next time. My eyebrow area is still a bit red and the skin is rough there, but I do hate plucking so we will figure something out. Sounds like a nice balanced workout.

I am doing CTX chest, abs and maybe a circuit with my EXT and Leaner Legs(freestyle)...

Happy Good Friday!

Happy Friday ladies!

I’m soo happy it’s Friday!! Sorry I’ve been MIA – but my company has had a lot of issues with the latest version of our software so I’ve been swamped. Yesterday was also the 1 year anniversary of Tucker’s death, and even though he was a dog, he was such a part of our lives that it was tough. The neighborhood came through again, and there are a lot of flowers where he got hit. My finger is feeling better – a little sore, but fortunately I do heal fast. Yesterday I did a kettlebell workout – YEAH! I did one round of AOS Firepower and AOS Providence. It was fun. I went lighter with the weights to guard my finger. I just got Seasun Zieger’s Rock Steady Step in a VF Trade, so I’ll do that today. It looked fun and like a cross between Cathe and Amy when I previewed it. Not repetitive like BOSU Blast. We’ll see.

Susan – Yes! HAPPY BIRTHDAY (one day late!). I miss you, too! I hope all is well and that Mary is recovering. You were always such a great motivator for me.

Cathy – I’m thinking of you during all this, girl! You have been so dedicated to the NB’s. I’m impressed. Enjoy your time off!!! My kids get Spring Break 3rd week in April. Here in California we cannot be so politically incorrect to celebrate Spring Break and Easter! :p Still planning on Providence today? Let me know what you think.

Wendi – Glad to hear you had a good night! Have fun riding and especially with DSO and dinner out!

Wendy – Enjoy your long run! When is your race again? Have fun with DH, too! :+

Dallas – Spinervals are different from iCycles. They are longer, to start (well most of them), and tend to be more interval based. The music is not as good, but Coach Troy really pushes ya. They are designed to help competitive cyclists get an edge in speed and endurance. The fitness ones are a little (very little) less intense, but they are fun. Try one – I’m sure between Sunny and me we can get you a fun one. My friend from Chicago is also complaining about the weather. One of top 5 worse in measureable snowfall since they’ve been keeping records or something like that? Ouch!

Sunny – How’s the new dining room set look? Oh, I get excited by things like that, too! They are fun! I think I’ll be doing Newport Sunday or Monday. I’ll let you know what I think. It looks tough, but I think if I attempt it with lighter bells, I’ll be fine.

Lori – your workouts are inspiring as always. How’d the sleep over go?

Kath – we have a few slow cheetahs – I’m sure you’re faster than I am! Too funny about your Golden Oldies Group – that really cracks me up. My DH has a group that he hangs out with at the gym – but I’m not as nice as you are – I call them the “Old Fart’s Club”. (DH is 14 years older than I am).

Carole – I was in Macy’s yesterday and I found myself lingering by the crockpots thinking of your recipe! I did not cave, but it was close (I think the $50 price tag had something to do with my not caving, too!). I got my eyebrows waxed once – I couldn’t tell a difference really, so I never went back. But I am blonde (like you). So, my brows are light. What do you think?

Jackie – the time change has made it tough for me to get moving, too. But I just think about how I feel if I don’t work out, and that usually gets me moving. Sounds like a great workout yesterday!

Shelly – so May 6th is the date? Are you taking any time off? That will be tough to work full time and get ready to pack! But, if anyone can do it it’s you. You awe me with your energy! I’m thinking of ya!

Have a great day all! Have a nice Good Friday for all who celebrate!

hi ladies,

today i am doing kung fu kickboxing.

cathy- hang in there with the NB stuff. you know in the end it will all be worth it.

lorie- enjoy whatver workout you decide on.

wendi- enjoy your dinner tonight with dso.

jackie- love my new dining set! we stopped at your favorite store:p lowes last night and bought a new light fixture to hang over the table.

wendy- know what you mean about the dh's. they always seem to want something...}( :p :7 . not being secretive about the tt workouts. just too darn lazy to type up the entire workout. his workouts are very much like stage 2 and 3 from NROL4W. they have the exact same philosophy. send me your email address please.

dallas- read my note to wendy re: the tt workouts. glad you are feeling better and back to working out!!

christine- my thoughts are with you and tucker. yay, you are back to your kb workouts!! i am doing one tomorrow not sure which one yet. if you try newport before i do let me know your thoughts. love my new dining room set.

carole- enjoy your day off today. i am off today also. will be spending my time going out to lunch with all my boys and then we are going to do some fun projects this afternoon. like paint easter eggs for our hunt on sunday!

shelly- we need to call you get er' done cheetah! you are amazing at what you have accomplished in such a short amount of time.

kath- i too am a very slow cheetah:7

have an awesome day super women!!

Hi Cheetahs.

I'm back from my long run. I eeked out a 9:59 average pace running 8 miles in 79 mins 44 secs. :) I did almost the first 7 miles at a steady 6.0 pace and then started with a speed play to alleviate the boredom that had set in. I stayed between 5.8 and 6.1 though.

I have eaten lunch and had my recovery drink. Now I need to make some java and then I'll be ready to settle in and do some personals. I realized I have some catching up to do from yesterday!

BBIAB!;)

Good morning cheetahs :) Never had a chance to post from work the other nite and I was busy cramming as much as I could into the day yesterday after my nap (as usual) Work was actually pleasant for a change. I got a break from doing charge and got to do patient care with a critical patient who got better :7 :7 Always rewarding!
After my nap I was feeling so good I did a very challenging run.. I strung together 3 long tempo trials with only short breaks inbetween of a slow run for a total of 7 miles under 57 minutes:7 :7 Felt great about that! Then after a good deal of painting I tried our Wendy's Mint Condition workout:eek:    OMG! As a follow up to the pesky coyote on our property I think DH scared it off permanently. He didn't actually hit it but I don't think he intended to.

Cathy- Happy Spring Break!!!!!! Couldn't come at a better time:) :) Hope your day is a fulfilling one.

Wendi- With how hard you work I'd hardly call this a rest day for you! Hope your day goes well.

Lorie- I'm sure you'll be doing a real kick butt workout whatever you choose. BTW, what does WT stand for? It's driving my crazy with curiosity:p

Wendy- You and your suggestions!}( }( }( }( You really thru a challenge to this 51 yr old lady   In retrospect, this is not the workout to do as a second one for the day!! Yikes, I was a quivering mess. However, I loved it.... of course}( It is a keeper. I was quite embarrased at how much I suck at those hanging leg raises!!! Got to work on them! Have a great long run today!

Dallas- A White Easter??? That's just not right!! :( So what's wrong with a run/plyo workout? }( :p

Carole- Glad to hear you are recovering from your eyebrow trauma!:p
The things we endure to look nice!! I inadvertantly informed Jerry the other day I was intending to go vegetarian. He was looking at a confirmation from Amazon.com on the computer for some cookbooks I ordered. I got the expected.... "you aren't REALLY going to do this are you?" His diet is very heavy on the meat so we'll probably end up eating most of our meals separately but that's been happening more and more lately anyway.

Christine- I am so impressed with how supportive your neighborhood is!!! Tucker was so very special. I remember reading your post a year ago and feeling such a sense of loss myself and I never had the pleasure of actually meeting him. Glad to hear you are back to the kettleballs again!! I'll be curious to hear your review of Seasun's workout. I like her style.

SunnyD- Have a great Kung fu day!! Git her done cheetah? Hardly!
More like Let it slide cheetah!;-) I'm great at getting the things done that I want to do though! I've been busy finishing up home improvement projects that I started years ago!

I think that about catches me up for now.
Hi Judy(where've ya been?) Kristi, Linda, Kath, Lori, Jackie.
Hope I didn't miss anyone.

For today it'll be GS legs and later an hour on the EXT.

ShellyC

Good morning and Happy Good Friday!

Dallas - You got a pretty good workout in with that sinus infection. Glad it mad you feel better. I like that iBiClimb. I like the intervals and I got a pretty good burn. Yeah, as long as those pants fit is what counts. How was studying? A white Easter and bunny. Have fun with the kids. Did you see the where I told you the color of my brick is Creekside?

Wendy - Congrats on the PP purchase! Can't wait to hear what you think. Wonder what the difference is in the more expensive ones. Have a good 10 mile run. Nope, don't have to bother with those pesky husbands. :)

Cathy - Yay for spring break! Glad you got to enjoy a lazy morning. Know you will be busy after that. Good luck with NB.

Wendi - Glad you had a good night. Enjoy your rest day.

Lorie - What did you decide to do? Tell me again when your spring break is. I wish I could get one of those. :)

Carole - Glad you're not letting the after effects of the waxing scare you away. Ok, please explain to me how the cold waxing works and if it's less painful. Enjoy your workout. Ready for another run yet?

Christine - I'm sure it was a tough day for you and the family yesterday. Nice tribute from the neighborhood for Tucker. It's great to have good neighbors. I see a lot of my new neighbors will have dogs. I will need to get to know them well.

Sunny - Are you still enjoying kung fu kickboxing? I like the name if nothing else. How fun that you got a new light fixture to go with the dining set. Enjoy your day with the boys.

I did GS Shoulders, Back and Biceps, Denise Austin's Yoga Relax and a 10 minute walk. I'm still feeling my biceps. Thinking some more DOMS may be in my future. My calves are sore from GS Legs.

Have a fab Good Friday!

Jackie

Shelly - There you are! Always nice to know our work is worthwhile. What a workout for you yesterday. Looks like another toughie today. Jerry may surprise himself and want to join you in your vegetarian eating style. When DBF visits, he has to eat what I prepare if he wants to eat and that means no meat. He has changed a lot of his eating habits in the last few years. Enjoy your workout.

Jackie

Hi ladies!

I’m back. Rock Steady Step is done. It’s FUN! I’ll need another shot to get some of the moves (I’d get them, then she reverse them or something and I’d be totally confused for a bit). I’m with Shelly – I like her style. She did two combos and builds them up and adds to them the way she does on BOSU Blast. The step work is as definitely as high energy and is almost as complex as Amy’s but it’s a little easier to get. And it’s not really a space hog – DH was able to get ready and the dogs were able to stand by him, and none of them got in my way. :+

Sunny – thanks for the good thoughts for Tuckerboo. We definitely appreciate it. I think Newport is more similar to Firepower than Providence in that it’s rounds of exercises. I’m looking forward to trying it. Have fun with Kung Fu Boxing!

Wendy – way to go on the long run!

Shelly – So glad work was pleasant for a change! You are getting so much done! Wow! Great run, too! Coyotes are scary – they are BIG! We have them around here, too. I see them when I’m out hiking every now and again. That’s for the sweet words on Tucker. He was a once in a lifetime dog. Jimmy is wonderful, but he’s not Tucker (which is fine – he should not be – he’s Jimmy). We do have great neighbors. I really enjoyed Seasun today. She’s sweet and fun but not really perky – just nice a steady. It’s a fun workout.

Jackie – Good neighbors are priceless. They really helped after Tucker was killed. Very nice of them to lay flowers where he was hit. Poor guy. Oh, I’m sure you neighbors would love to loan you a running companion! (should you want one!)

Well back to the grind… DH and I are meeting over lunch to take the dogs to the groomers. Yeah – they are spoiled rotten. :p But they really comb them out so they look so nice after a session. I’ll take pics.

Okay, I'm back. I'm showered and smellin' all purty-like and I have my java in hand. This is what happiness is about I tell ya!:7

So DH and I are going out tonight. A bunch of his work buddies (and thier wives/girlfriends) are getting together at a restaraunt/bar tonight to listen to a band. I think one of the guys in the band is a good friend of one of DH's work buddies. It was a last minute plan that DH just asked me about y'day. My mom has graciously agreed to watch Joey overnight so that we can do this. We will be dropping him off after dinner tonight and DH will be picking him up after breakfast in the morning. I have a hair appointment in the morning so I got out of pick up duty!:p I am really looking forward to tonight. Sounds like fun! I hope the band plays good music!

Kristi: I hope you are enjoying your day off today!

Carole: I'm going foodshopping today. Hopefully I will remember to bring the list of stuff I need for that soup!:9 DH is actually napping right now. I COULD be getting alot done but I pooped from my run. If DS wasn't still awake, I'd be napping too!:) Enjoy your CTX work out today!

Jackie: Yes, I was getting good results with the X+ rotation. I stopped because I have been doing heavy lifting almost non stop for quite some time now. I need to change it up before comitting to NROL in May. Not only for my body's sake, but to alleviate boredom for myself as well. I plan to commit myself to one of the many X or X+ rotation for the full 3 months in the future though!:) So how in the heck did you manage to do yoga after doing GS!?

Christine: Glad your finger is better. Sorry about the problems at work. I hope they get cleared up fast. Let us know what you think of your new work out once you've done it. My race is Sunday March 30th...a week away! YIKES!

Sunny: No worries on the nitty gritty of the TT work outs. I just had no idea what kind of work outs they were but now I know! Thanks for the info! If I like NROL it may encourage me to take the TT leap at some point in the future! :)

Shelly: Now I KNOW Mint Condition is a good work out if YOU felt challenged by it!}( I'm so glad that you liked it!:) I'm glad DH thinks he's gotten rid of the Coyote with out having to injure/kill it. That's always nicer if it can be done that way. I know I sure wouldn't want one roaming around my property but at the same time, if I knew my DH had shot it, I would have cried! I'm such a sap! :p

Okay, well I guess that catches me up for now. I thought I had more people to catch up with but I guess not!

BBIAB! :7

Hola, girls!

Lunch break. :)

Wendi :: oh yes, I’m enjoying it all right. ;) *lol* Enjoy dinner with SO.

Lorie :: sorry, I wish you were off, too!

Wendy :: eBay, girlfriend, ‘cuz if you don’t like it, I probably won’t, either. :)

Dallas :: plyo after a run? Why, yes, I would say leave that to the insane people! :7

Carole :: wow, so your eyebrows are still a bit red and tender? I think you’ve just convinced me never to try that. :7

Christine :: (((HUGS))) comin’ to you re: the anniversary of Tucker’s death. What an amazing group of neighbors you have to remember and honor him that way. *lol* about my politically incorrect “spring break.” Yes, I’m aiming for Providence later today. Can’t wait to see the pics.

Sunny :: have fun with the boys today!

Shelly :: glad you were able to enjoy a change of pace at work…You asked Lorie, but I’ll explain WT…with some of the things we have in common, Lorie and I at some point started calling each other twin, but then I had to start referring to her Wonder Twin b/c of her beastly insane workouts and speedy runs, which is where our similarities end. Obviously. *lol* She is kind enough to say it back to me, but I’m really just a regular ol’ twin. :)

Jackie :: there *is* a downside to having a spring break…and that is that the school calendar dictates when you can travel. TY…as soon as I hit post here, I will dive back into the work.

Hey Cathy! You snuck in on me girl! Oh the wonders of Ebay. I know them well! Don't worry...Ebay it will be if I don't like the work outs!:p Hope you are having a productive day!

Christine - Glad you enjoyed Rock Steady. Sounds like a fun workout. How is DH doing? Got to meet one of my new neighbors today. She was out for a walk and she told me about all of the dogs in the neighborhood. I should be ok. Hope the doggies enjoyed their day at the groomers.

Cathy - Good to see you come up for air. Hope you got a lot accomplished.

Wendy - Enjoy your night out with DH. Hope that band was great. I don't like lousy bands either. I only did a 10 minute yoga and it was mostly stretching. That made it easy. It was more like a stretch at the end of one of Cathe's workouts.

Not much going on here tonight I see. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!

Jackie
