Good morning, everyone!

This'll be quick. I mostly caught up w/ personals last night.

Wendy :: hope the meds brought some relief last night and you're feeling better...You bet I'll give ya the full post-wedding report! The cruise is in November, and then there's a reception up here in January, so this might be a two-parter.

OK, I'm off to get ready. I've found my groove with my new teaching schedule and haven't been leaving quite as early the past few days, which has been nice. I have an eye doc appt. after school, and after that, it'll be a run. It's still summer-like here with temps up in the high 80s.

Have a FAB day, cheetahs! BBL to catch up w/ you all. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Signs/ciao.gif

Good morning Cheetahs!

Yesterday and today are rest days. I pulled out my hip doing Leslie Sanson's 4 Fast Miles DVD last week. It hasn't been the same just yet.

How is everyone doing today? It is early! I am about to get in the shower.

Work has been very busy....blah blah blah........same stuff here!

Tomorrow I am going for a run. I should be back and better.

Have a great day all!

Amy :)

Good morning ladies!

I just got back from a nice 5 mile run. I wasn't shooting for a particular time, I just wanted to stay in a nice zone for 45 min and that's exactly what I did. What beautiful mornings we've had here lately! My original plan was to do PP this morning but I figured I needed to take care of all the gingered plum jam I made (and ate) last night :9 x(...YUMMY! I didn't know what else to do with the 4 lbs of local plums that one of the clients brought us.

Lorie - Have you heard anything from Jason's new family? I hope Panda was happy to have him back.

Shelly - You are INSANE, girl! I could never imagine keeping a 10 minute pace for 20 miles...you are quite an inspiration! What did you go see?

Judy - Oooh, I LOVE Viper! That's probbly my favorite circuit.

Carole - I hope the massage was wonderful. You certainly deserved it after your fantastic run this weekend.

Susan - Great run yesterday! Yeah, NO Halloween candy in this house anymore! I learned that one the hard way last year x(. I don't even stay home for the big night anymore. I go walk around the mall so that I have absolutely NO EXCUSE to buy the stuff. MMMMMM, Mounds, Reese Sticks, Reese's Pieces...nope, won't do it!

Christine - So glad you're feeling a bit better. I LOVED that movie and laughed at that line, too, as it's so true sometimes. Who knows, maybe you will keep it off.

Wendy - Dang it I keep typing it with an "i" LOL. I love when a little w/o makes you feel so much better than when you started. Just don't go too hard. Yeah, the other girl who works there is such a gem. She is such a hard worker and an amazingly responsible girl. I probably would have quit a long, long time ago if it weren't for her. I could NEVER have gotten through this past year or so without her!

Amy - I hope your hip is feeling better.

Cathy - I think I just finally figured out what I want to do career-wise. I hate the people in the industry, most of them are a bunch of snakes and the politics can be unreal sometimes. I'm sick of the rich clients who are so cheap that, when you get up at 2:30am to bust your butt preparing their a$$%#@& of a horse so that it's beautiful and perfect in the show ring for them so they can win but never think that at least a small tip might be a nice thing to do. The hours can SUCK! When we show in FL in the winter it's a 4:00am start (sometimes I had to get there around 3:00) and we hope to finish by 8:00pm, Tuesday through Sunday. I'm also sick of the physical damage that my job has caused. Broken wrist, broken back, broken nose (which should have been a broken neck), 3 cracked ribs and a host of other little injuries. I just want a somewhat normal life! The gentleman I work for is a wonderful guy, that's why I didn't leave him high and dry. He's done so, so much for me over the years and I would never leave him in a lurch...it wouldn't be right. But he agrees that I need to get out.

Well, I'm a little behind now so I'll talk to you guys later! Thanks for the mini-vent.

Good morning ladies! This will need to be a quick post, but I think work will slow down later for more personals. Yesterday I got my laptop. YEAH! However, I have to send it back. There is a screw that has not been set into place properly and DH, even though this is his line of work, would have to take the whole laptop apart to fix it. For the money I spent on it I want hp to take care of it. Needless to say it will probably be another couple weeks until I get it back. DH is working extra hours this week in preparation for being out of town all next week. I pray God gives me the patience I will desperately need to last the whole week with the 2 kids and 2 dogs. My house is so chaotic at night that it will be a challenge for sure, especially since the kids are testing the water again to see what they can get away with.

Anyway, workout wise, not much to report. I'm battling sinus problems so my workouts have been sporadic. Today I hope to get in a 2-3 mile run. The heat wave (90's)has been back full force for a while now, but by Thursday we should finally be seeing some rain and normal fall temperatures. I hope the weather man is right. We are 8 inches below in rain fall for the year and have been on water restriction for about 1 1/2 months now.

Sorry, enough about me. WAVES to all cheetahs! I should be able to come back later with personals.

TTFN,

Wendi-you have been talking about changing jobs for a while, so it's obviously on your mind a lot. Just take the plunge! Figure out what you like, things you enjoy doing, and where you would like to see yourself in the future, then, go for it!

Amy-I pulled out my left hip and it still hurts a bit after a lot of activity. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I have not heard anything more from Jason's family. I am assuming no news is good news. I will know more on Saturday because they are either going to come back and finalize the adoption or *NO!* bring him back.

Today was Ripped 1000. I slept like crap-ola last night and didn't have a ton of energy when I started but felt much better after I did it. I am planning a run tomorrow. Of course an iTread. Not sure which one. I am only going to run for 60 minutes. Then, I will do HIIT on Thursday, wieghts or circuit Friday, and I have a 5K that I want to PR on Saturday. It's a fundraiser to benefit animals. I do it every year. It's a lot of fun. www.celebrateanimals.org

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday (one day closer to Friday!!!).

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...the massage was great, I really needed it. Good job on SM#1 and KPC abs. Glad you have gotten back in the groove with School. Our weather has gotten a bit warmer during the days too. I love this time of year...

Amy...sorry about your hip. Hope it feels better tomorrow.

Wendi...good job with the nice 5 mile run. Your plum jam sounds very tasty! Have you ever heard of satsuma plums? Those are my favorite...the massage was great. So what kind of a career change will you make?

Lorie..sorry about the insomnia...I hate that. Do you ever run outside or do you always use the TM for your runs?

Kristi...sorry about the laptop, hope they get it fixed ASAP. Sinus problems can be no fun, hope they clear up soon. Do you take anything?

Wendy...I always try and exercise thru a cold, maybe not smart but I have done it forever. No worries about missing my race report...:)..I think we all miss stuff occasionally.

Jackie...glad you got in a good nights rest after the race. The massage was great as I did have some DOMS from the race/run sunday. BBC was fun yesterday, I am just doing it for a week then going to heavy next week with GS for my upper. So what is Cuts & Curves?

Susan...I would love to run 4 miles in 35 min again!! I am glad you liked Amy's Kickbox, you described it perfect. You do eventually get the choreography and then the workout goes a bit smoother.

Christine...thanks...:)...overall that race/run sunday was a great time for me. I hope you are feeling better today.

Shelly...way to go on the 20 miles at a 10 min pace! Joey is way cute...:)...Did you and DH make it to a movie?

I ended up not running yesterday, just wasn't in the mood (must be hormones!), anyways I did the BBC workout and then 40 min on the EXT (Elliptical). I do have some DOMS in my quads from the run sunday. The massage felt great and she was easy on my quads. Today will be GS Legs standing and a 4-5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Hey guys. Remember me???? It's MIA Cheetah! lol Sorry for having gone missing. I wasn't feeling all that well last week and ended up taking the whole week off...seemed like my body was just falling apart! LOL Just felt kind of icky, if that explains it. Also, I was getting too caught up in the cyber world and letting things at home slip some...so I needed to refocus on priorities.

As my usual, I have to be quick and with no personals. Lots of reasons today.

First...today is the 3 year mark of DH's passing. I have promised myself that from THIS point forward, I will NOT use that event, 3 years ago, to become an excuse for ANYTHING! I've been pretty good stepping up and doing what needs to be done as a parent and as an advocate for the cause...but I've also had moments where I let his passing become an excuse for things. It's hard to explain. BUT THE BUCK STOPS HERE! Today...new beginning as far as that goes.

Second....up early for B&G premix, 3 mile outdoor run, then Stretch Max 3. Feeling GREAT!

Time to hit the shower for work/school.

Sorry to hit and run!

Gayle

p.s. I've been lurking, so I've been mighty impressed with our new Cheetahs, as well as our Veteran Cheetahs' RACE TIMES! WOO HOO!

Your attitude about not letting this date control you is a good one.

Carole-I usually do run on the TM because I work out around 0430-0500 and don't like running in the dark by myself. I used to run with one of my pups, but now that I am running a lot longer and faster than I used to, I am not sure he could keep up and I would have to spend some time training him to run the longer distances. So, unless it's a weekend (and it's not 90 degrees and humid!!!), I am running inside.

Gayle...I can understand how dates like that can be an excuse for things sometimes. I think your attitude is remarkable...Good job with the B&G premix, running and a stretch!

Lorie...thanks for the explanation. I would not run outside in the dark myself either! I am fortunate as I can wait for it to get light before I run. I also used to run with one of my dogs, but so many loose dogs in the area it got to be almost a zoo. I only have one small dog now and she is not built for running. I am lucky to live in Northern Calif and the weather is never too extreme for outside running, so I have run in about every kind of weather...:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Susan - Good job on the 4 miles! Glad your speed is coming back too. Like KB Extreme too.

Lorie - I did the 21 day sugar challenge. It let me know that I can do without it if necessary but I must have a chocolate fix every now and then. Sorry you didn't sleep well.

Christine - Glad you're feeling better. Loved that line from the Devil Wears Prada too.

Wendy - Are you feeling better today? Taking the workout down a notch sounds like a good plan.

Shelly - Great job on the 20 miles! The Iranian leader is a maniac! What movie did you see. DBF and I went to see 3:10 to Yuma Friday night. Really enjoyed it more than I thought.

Cathy - I think your presence will be the bestest present for your sis. Good luck with your meeting today. Way to rein that appetite in. I think we just need those breaks sometimes of not having to worry about everything we put in our mouth.

Amy - Hope you're enjoying your rest days and the hip feels better! Have a good run tomorrow!

Wendi - Nice run today. Yum on that plum jam. What do you put it on? What a tough job you have. It does sound like time for a change. Hope you can find something you really enjoy doing.

Kristi - Bummer that the new laptop has to be returned. Feel better and hope you can get that run in.

Carole - Glad you had a good massage. Cuts & Curves is by Gilad. He uses tubing and 3-10 pound weights. It's good for when you don't want to use heavy weights and still get a good workout. Enjoy your workout today!

Gail - Glad you're feeling better. Do understand about cyberworld. It's easy to spend a lot of time sitting in front of the computer. I had to ease up from getting on so much at home since I'm on a computer all day at work. Will send up a prayer for you that you move forward. ((((HUGS)))) to you.

I did iTread #5 60 minutes. I followed the joggers and followed the workout. The hills are really helping my legs. I warmed up with 6 Minute Abs and stretched with Cathe's Basic Stretch.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Jackie

Good morning ladies,
I am totally pmsing,UGH!!!! I am hoping that Imax2 will shake me out of it:) I am also going to start going heavier with my weights. I have been a total wimp so far this year and just doing the endurance weight workouts. I think I will do the gs sh,ba, and bi's today. I will probably die though}(

CAthy, enjoy your run today:)

Amy, I hope the hip feels better soon.

Wendi, good for you for just enjoying your run. I get caught up all the time on speed and obsess over all the numbers. It is nice to just enjoy the feeling of running.

Lorie, I will have to try to the ripped1000. I have it, but just never got around to doing it. How is the intensity compared to Cathe?

Kristi, I am praying right there with ya. My hubby has a deadline this week and he has not been home each night before 9pm. It does take a lot of patience to be with the kids that long without a break. Hang in there:)

Carole, glad you enjoyed your massage and she was easy on the quads. I need to schedule one soon too. Yes, I plan on mastering the KBX. I will do it again on Thursday. Have fun with GS legs and your run. That sounds like a wikced combination}(

Gayle, you have amazing strength, good for you !!! It sounds like your body needed a break last week. I need to listen to mine more often and stop shoving food in it}(

Jackie, do you prefer the itreads over the cardio coaches? Great run!

Well ladies, I am off to take kids to school and then Imax 2 is coming my way!

Cheers!
Susan

Good morning all! Feeling a little stiff this morning, the quads are talking to me some but not bad overall:) Well, DH whined about not feeling well so no movie yesterday and I ended up having to go out and do all the shopping alone after having run 20 milesx(
When I got home I did StretchMax and felt much better. DH gave me a wonderful foot massage in the jacuzzi last nite so he's out of the dog house;-)
I'm feeling very encouraged by my last 2 20 mile runs:7 I'll be tapering down over the next 2 weeks in preparation for my 25 mile Man against Horse race Oct 6th. I am so excited to be able to do it this year! I won't be "racing" it. There is no point as they don't give out any awards and there are usually only 3-4 women each year who are crazy enough to attempt it. It's a very challenging course and you are running right alongside the horses on a rough trail. Anyway, I'll be looking at it as a training experience for my marathon in Dec and I'll likely be walking alot of the steep upgrade portions.
Well, this has gotten long!! I'll be back for personals!

ShellyC

Back for Personals:) :) :) :) :)

Cathy- I'm glad you are getting more time in the morning now:)
Wow, temps in the high 80s! Yesterday I actually wore a light jacket
for my run- temps in the 40s to start. Hope you get a nice run in and it's not too warm for ya.

Amy- Sorry to hear about your hip injury. I guess it's not too bad since you are planning on a run tomorrow. Hope it goes well for you.

Wendi- Sounds like a perfect relaxed pace run you had :) :)
You're Gingered plum jam sounds delicious:9 :9 I'm with Lorie on your career change. You've had enough injuries and this job just sounds too full of frustrations for you. Nobody needs that. Take the next step now! Start actively looking at least or decide what it is you want. We have plenty of enablers here to help you!! ;-)

Lorie- I love the fundraising races! The one your doing Sat. sounds fun! Do you find it more difficult running outside since most of your training is on the TM? I have only one Jari Love dvd and I have to admit I regret getting it. She just didn't click with me I'm afraid.

Kristi- Great to hear from you! You do sound as busy as ever. I'm so sorry that there was a problem with your new laptop. I know how much you've been looking forward to getting it!x( I hope you can get your run in today and get some needed rainfall also.

Carole- I was surprised to hear you were planning a run yesterday after that tough race and run on Sunday you did. Don't blame you for postponing! Doing GS legs today rather than the BBC leg workout?

Gayle- Sounds like a week off is just what you needed! I'd say you sound refreshed and ready for a new start both mentally and physically:7 :7 Glad to hear it and I hope you keep us posted!

Jackie- Well, you saw exactly the movie I was hoping to seex(
Glad to hear it was good.... maybe next week. Good job with the iTread today, you are getting to be quite the hill conquerer!

Susan- You should be blasting thru IMAX2 now :7 I've been concentrating much more on endurance weights myself but I don't see that changing much until after my marathon. Go pump some iron there girl!!!

Christine- I saw a guy running with an Aussie yesterday and thought of you. The dog looked like it was having alot more fun then it's owner!

Time to get moving here. Today will be All Body Attack and some core work... not sure what exactly yet. I go back to work tonight for a long stretch:(

ShellyC

Grrrr....I took a 2 hour nap this afternoon. I just woke up about 15 minutes ago. I guess I must have needed it but now I really don't have the time to exercise. ACK!x(

I am going to my mom's tonight for dinner. My uncle from Florida is in town on business so we planned a little GTG at her place. DH will be meeting DS and me there for a bit after work as well. The dinner will be super yummy...Juicy chicken and dumplings or what some might recognize as Chicken Paprikash. :9 }( :9 }(

Okay, well I'd better go. Just wanted to pop in since I didn't have time this morning...I overslept!

I'll try to come back later for personals ladies.

Ciao for now!:*

Imax 2 and ab work is DONE!!! Actually Imax2 was not that hard. I did it even without the recovery part. It is the running that always make everything else easier. I promised my 7 year old that I would wait for her and do the weights with her today. She has her own set of 2 lbers. She actually did all of the lowerbody lying section of butts and gutts the other day. She kept asking when Cathe would switch legs(LOL)! Now, I am on day one of no crap in the mouth, so far so good;-)

Shelly, that is great that you are having some awesome runs. I can't believe that you are not even that sore today. You're a machine}(

Wendy, I noticed in your rotation this week that you were only doing 3 days of cardio. How is the less cardio working for you? Are you still working out the same amount of time, but more weights? I really want to start reducing my cardio as well and add more weight training. I am scared of gaining though. Any thoughts?

I am chugging some green tea now and relaxing. That will all change in about an hour and half when everyone comes home...

Have a great afternoon ladies!

Susan

Today during lunch I did itread set 1 20 minutes for the first time. I’m pleasantly surprised by how intense of a workout it is especially being only 20 minutes. Unfortunately the last 5 minutes my mp3 player battery went dead. GRRRR! I did 2 HARD sprints on my own though to make up for it. All in all I only did 2 miles, but felt great afterwards. I’m sure I could have went longer, but time is a huge factor these days.

Wendy – BTW, GREAT JOB on your first 10 miler! (Sorry I’m so late.) That is a huge accomplishment and you should feel very proud, no matter how long it took you to do it. The additional 3 miles for your HM won’t be a big deal at all. Great job on your training. Enjoy your GTG dinner.

Susan – Great workout today. Enjoy the green tea!

Shelly – You are putting in some nice runs. I’m positive you will do great on your race next week! It sounds like a fun race. Don’t work too hard tonight.

Jackie – Like always, your workouts are awesome! I’m trying to keep up with the jogger speeds on the itreads. Unfortunately I’m a pretty slow runner, but I’m trying to build my speed up and my mileage. I’m hoping the hills help with my leg strength too.

Lorie – I’m another one who doesn’t like to run in the dark. It just is not safe that early in the morning, or late at night for that matter. I’m trying to train my 5 yo springer spaniel to run with me. I’m still in the lower mileage so hopefully she will catch on quickly, maybe the next couple months. Right now she can only run a ½ mile so far.

Gayle – Glad to see you post again and to hear you are trying to have a positive attitude. That is a great thing!

Carole – I’m glad your massage went well. I could use one myself. :) Great job on your race on Sunday.

Wendi – The jam sounds delicious! Great job on the 5 miler! Good luck with the career change. Your current job sounds dangerous with all of your broken bones, etc.

Amy – Sorry to hear about your hip. I hope it heals soon!

Cathy – I’m glad to hear you found your groove. I bet it makes your job a lot easier once you settle in. How’s the WW going?

WAVES to Judy & Jess!!

Good evening ladies!

Just a few personals to catch up on and thanks everyone for listening to my mini-rant this am :p.

Thanks all for the words of encouragment! I've started to gather info from both online schools and some of the area colleges. Since I already have my AS and BS degrees going back to take some courses should be pretty easy. Unfortunately, quite a few things have to fall into place first before I can take the plunge...I have to sell my pony (can't afford to keep her if I'm not in my current position because her board is included as part of my salary). I have to make sure that there is someone to fill my spot. I will have to find other employment in the meantime to support myself. Believe me when I say that it is in the works, it's going to take time though. I've become quite interested/facinated with nutrition but there are very few jobs in that field locally, or even semi-locally. I do know a couple of people who have become rad techs and I'm thinking that's the ticket. It's a short two year program, they are in constant demand, I could study and do my internship literally around the corner, the starting salary is adequate and the hours not so long. It should even allow me to pursue an ACE (or other) certification on the side at some point as fitness/nutrition have truly changed my life and I can honestly see myself doing that for a very long time.

Lorie - Sorry about the bad sleep last night :(. There's a 7K that I can't wait to do here in late October to benefit a local animal shelter.

Kristi - I hope those sinus problems clear up soon. It looks like you have enough to deal with as it is.

Carole - I'm not sure if I've heard of satsuma plums. These were the little "Italian" plums that are prevalant around here.

Gayle - HI!!!! Long time no see! I'm glad that you enjoyed the RT...it sounded wonderful. I'm only sorry that I couldn't hang around longer to get to know you better. You are a very strong and determined woman! I hope your "friend" and your boys are well.

Jackie - I put a tablespoon in my steel cut oats this morning...OMG was it DELISH! There are still 2 more pounds at the farm that may have to come home with me }(! I cut the sugar by half and will probably cut it by half again...it was SO sweet.

Susan - I think Imax 2 is my all-time pick me up workout! It's just the right thing to get me revved up. I hope your DD enjoyed her workout this afternoon...too cute about B&G!

Shelly - How nice of your DH to treat you last night! That race sounds very interesting...and tough!

Wendy - Sometimes our bodies know better than we do when we need a little extra rest. I hope you enjoy your dinner at your mom's.

Well, this has gotten long enough. Sweet dreams everyone!

Hey, cheetahs! :) :) :)

I didn’t realize my eye doc was going to give me the drops that makes things blurry…so I decided to stay indoors & swapped today’s workout with tomorrow’s. Did Body Fusion for the first time. Surprised myself by picking up *most* of the moves quickly. Fun ~ I liked this one a lot. Considered intermediate, I know, but still made me sweat but good.

Wendi :: well, that does sound like a physically intense & demanding job…Sounds like you have a solid plan. Best of luck!! I went into teaching as a 2nd career, and I know it’s not easy to make a switch after many years, but for me, it was SO worth it as I have truly found my calling.

Kristi :: sorry about your laptop and sinus problems…WW is going really well…Last week, I slipped a little…Didn’t work out as much and went over points but I am back in line this week, have maintained the loss, and feel great!

Lorie :: good job working out on so little rest…hopefully everything will go smoothly with the adoption…My dilemma is I hate running in the dark, too (won’t do it anymore), but I don’t really like the treadmill, either. So, in fall/winter, I just do my best to beat the sundown.

Carole :: oh man, I so want a massage now! *lol* I skipped it in Aug. b/c I splurged on some other things, but my chiro has referred me to someone who charges much less than my hair salon/spa does. I think a massage followed by an adjustment sounds like it’d be heaven…tough workout two days after your race!! WTG! How do the quads feel after?

Gayle :: hope you are physically feeling better…(((HUGS))) to you on DH’s anniversary. I admire your fighting spirit. Hope you're enjoying your job and have adapted to the mike.

Jackie :: glad you’re enjoying the hillwork…I don’t know if I could survive a 21-day sugar challenge. Wow! WTG!

Susan :: how cute your 7-year-old is already lifting to Cathe…good job with Imax2 and on staying away from the junk!

Shelly :: sorry you missed the movie yesterday…but a foot massage in a jacuzzi sounds fab! Guess DH redeemed himself with that one! :)...Looks like we will have at least a few more days of this Indian summer weather.

Wendy :: Hope you enjoy tonight’s GTG…I think your body is telling you it needed the rest.

Amy :: sorry to hear about your hip…hope you feel better in the morning for your run.

OK, off I go! Have a great night, everyone! :)
