Catheites! Looking for a good pillow for neck/back pain..

hey catheites!

was wondering if anybody might have a good rec for a good pillow for neck/back trouble. i have 2 tempurpedics (small/large) and a tempurpedic bed, but my neck, back and upper back are NOT happy. i tried a modified sobakawa type pillow. it seems to make my neck happier, but not my upper back.

i saw a 'makura pillow' on the net, was wondering if anybody's tried that? it's suppose to be just like the sobakawa (buckwheat filled) but better.

i'm having a horrid time trying to get a good nights sleep...so any rec's would be greatly appreciated.

thanks so much!

RE: Catheites! Looking for a good pillow for neck/back ...

Sorry about your troubles Beanqueen. I work with a lot of clients who have had whiplashes of varying degrees and, although I've never used one, I get wonderful feed back on water pillows. Some are a hybrid of a regular pillow with a bladder and will give you support in any position. Check out any local homecare store and they should have lots of information for you. HTH:)

Take Care
Laurie:)

Sorry to hear about your sleep troubles. I went through the same thing a while ago. I tried a buckwheat pillow - terrible. Just completely uncomfortable. What I like most is the memory foam contour pillows. I believe you can get them just about anywhere now. I know they sell higher quality ones at Overstock.com.

HTH :)

Tammy, which brand did you buy? My DH and I have been looking at some on the recommendation of his massage therapist. We both have neck issues.

I have the natural buckwheat hull filling pillow & I love it What I have is the pillow called the confort roll.
. The maker is Makura Miracle Pillow & here is their email & Phone 714-530-3300, [email protected]. I have 3 bad discs in my lower neck & I find this pillow the best, I used to sleep with a cervical collar, now I just use this with my regular pillow

thanks so much, everybody!

hmmm...a water pillow, huh? i'm gonna try and hunt one down, to check out. thanks!

karen, on the makura comfort roll...have you tried the regular makura pillow, too? if so, did you like it? i'm wondering if "just the roll" would do it? do you just put the roll on top of your regular pillow?

i've gotta find something to help my sleep....ugh, sleep deprivation..i'm flashing back to my kids at newborn stage!! ack! (and that was 14 years ago!! one thing's for sure, no more babies for me! i'd never make it!! lol)

thanks everybody!

I bought a Memory Foam Countour pillow at Target - on sale it was $15. I have had a terrible time with neck pain from sleeping and tried tons of pillows. I have used this one for about 6 weeks and no headaches from the neck pain! :) I don't have back pain so I can't comment on that.

I have the comfort roll, i place it between my head & shoulder, it takes the place of a neck brace. I love it. I also use it when I am reading, I place it on the back of my. This takes the place of my cervical collar,
