Cardio Coach - music and other questions

I have been searching old posts on Cardio Coach and it appears that most everyone's favorite is #6.

I have never used Cardio Coach, but have decided to try it.

* Can anyone tell me what kind of music is played?
* Do they talk a lot?
* If using it for treadmill do you run or walk?
* Does #6 include hill work?
* Is your goal to work to the beat of the music?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure it will be a good fit for me before purchasing.

Hi Monica.

I love Cardio Coach. I've tried all the volumes except V6 by Candice (I have done V6 with Sean, though). I use it mostly with my recumbant bike, but also with my elliptical (I don't run). I know lots of people use it for both running and walking, though. There's definitely hill work in V6 (and all the volumes), as well as sprints. You don't necessarily work to the beat of the music, but rather you work to keep your heart rate in a particular zone. The coach will tell you when to sprint and for how long, when to do a hill climb, etc. He'll also tell you what heart rate zone you should be in (heart rate zones are explained on the CD covers and on the web site). He doesn't really talk too much, except after the workout he gives a little motivational speech.

I find the music to be motivating. It's hard to desribe...there are no vocals. Some of it's jazzy, some of its sort of tribal beat-ish, some of it makes me think of dramatic music from a movie (like Chariots of Fire).

Cardio Coach takes a really boring cardio machine and makes it fun. It also makes you work so much harder (don't ask me why, it just does).

I'd say it's definitely worth giving it try.

Hey ..

I have 4 , 5 and 6 (with Sean) .. I LOVE .. LOVE ... LOVE them!

I use them mainly on the treadmill .. but the good thing is you can use them on any machine or outside ..

I usually use mine as a walk, run then sprint interval workout. Sean's voice and words are motivational and really push me to the limit.

I would describe the music as tribal, intrumental and inspiring .. he does not talk all the time .. just pushes you to achieve whatever goal you set for the workout.

to me the best thing about these workouts is you can always grow with them .. they can always change. Like one day you could walk/run and concentrate more on incline. Then another day you can run/sprint and concentrate more on speed. You can make the workout short .. or moderate .. or all the way .. to the limit hard/long.

And the beat of the music .. whether I am walking/running or doing the cycle .. seems the beat somehow is always perfect at the moment ... hard to explain ..

5 and 6 are my favorite. I love the music in five more .. but 6 is harder to me .. he concentrates more on sprinting on that one .. less rest ..

you can not go wrong with these workouts .. IMHO that is!!:7
