Buff Badgers Week of Oct 22th

Morning Ladies,

This morning was was 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Cardio Kickboxing and Recovery Lower Body. ;) Sure got cold quick.

Karen, Do you have all of Lauren's kb workouts? Which ones do you like the best? I purchased my Xtreme set from ExerciseTV when they where in business. ;)

Brenda, Very nice of you to help with the soil moving. ;) LOL on those power turns. :D I'm sure you will be happy to see the last of those workouts that have those in them. I would just check out the youtube video's to see what Chris Freytag is like. I think that the Xtreme workouts are her toughest ones. Most of the Prevention workouts are more beg./interm. IMO.

Have a great weekend!

Good Morning,

Today I was going for a run but it's way to cold so it will probably be KPC, haven't done that one in ages.

Laurie, I have all of Lauren's. A actually like the first one the best because in the second she ads more burpee moves inbetween and the 3rd she uses 2 kettlebells a lot but you can always use one. The 2nd two have a lot of options but I prefer the workout all together. She is, in my opinion the easiest to watch and keep good form. By the way I love your profile picture, your girls are beautiful.

Brenda, moving dirt sounds like a lot of work. Lucky you got your workout in before that. You sure are getting some good workouts in.

Ended up doing cross fire. My knees didn't like that workout. Won't be doing that one again for awhile. Seemed like it went on forever.

Oldest DD joined ballet with a teacher that has a daughter with Down Syndrome and there are 5 other girls with Down Syndrome in her class. She just loves it. They are called Flying Angels. She is also volunteering at the library and at home we are working on self help skills. I guess it is good that I lost both of my jobs so I can be home with her. The daycare closed down and the Pre K aide position I had was gotten rid of for lack of Pre K children. I am now on the list to sub as an aide but have only gotten called twice. Boys have just finished soccer and now are starting indoor soccer. Youngest DD is starting swim club again this week.

Have a wonderful day.

Hello! It's been a long couple of days, but everything seems to be going okay with my dad. He had a rough night last night but when I visited today he seemed much better. Thanks to all of you for the kind wishes and prayers. I think this is harder on my parents then it might be for some because my mom is a nurse, and she knows everything that can go wrong. Ignorance is bliss.

Yesterday I did Gym Styles Chest and Triceps. I can tell that it's effective, but I can see why some people have some dread for that workout. I can't believe Cathe is still holding twenty-pounders on the last set of incline flyes.

No workout yet today. I want to do some Pilates for lower body later, maybe after dinner. I'm enjoying a glass of wine right now even though it's not even four... it's been a crazy day

Karen- If you don't like the kind of thing Crossfire offers I can see how it would seem to go on forever :D I used to hate drill-based workouts like that, but I find them pretty addictive lately.

Susan- Yes, running is definitely a mental activity for me. It requires more focus than I'm usually putting into my workouts.

Brenda- It's interesting what muscles hurt today after going for a run. My quads... my groin (???). Weird stuff. Obviously, I'm not using them.

Laurie- I could get into a Chris Freytag hiit workout :) I was thinking of trying Amy Dixon's Breathless Body, which is Tabata. I think I like hiit and Tabata because they're over fast!

Hi Heartymax!

One of my problems with running has always been finding a good pair of shoes. My brother is currently working at Performance Running Outfitters, and he told me to come in tomorrow and get properly fitted and have my stride assessed. I can't afford shoes this month, but he said he can at least let me know what shoes would work for me, plus I get a 30% family discount! Should be interesting.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
